So someone in a Castles and Crusades game I'm playing in wants to play a Alchemist. This is not a literal translation. What should I do, what am I doing wrong (if anything) and last Where the heck is the Philosopher Stone in the Advanced Player's Guide. It's mentioned in the class, but not where is it described. THE ALCHEMIST
Prime Attribute : Intelligence
Philosopher Stone
First thru Third : Orange
Alchemy
Continue next page Identify And Work Natural Material : The Alchemist is able to identify any common mineral or plant.
Poison
Longevity and Health
Bombs
Orange : Fire Damage
Formula
Use Magic Device
So here's the situation.
I've been the only player of the last four months. It's ok, but there needs to be at least two more players.
I suggested a compromise. Try keeping Pathfinder simple.
Things I've already thought of: Stick to Main rule book only. No other classes, feats etc. MAYBE Spells from other books. eliminate time wasters, like say Attacks of opportunity. Of course that means other things will change like maybe feats and what not. Other detailed examples?
I ran the first game, a bare bones encounter. And questions came up.
So I bought this for my nephews and I plan of bringing it over for xmas and playing them through the first time. I have it on pdf so I should be able to read it ahead of time.
While I like 3.5/Pathfinder there are some things that I hate about it. The first and I think most crippling is multiple attacks. At low levels not so bad. BUT hit 10th-16th and the game comes to a crawl. No matter the shortcuts involve(using different color dice, random generators etc)it's still a drag on the game. My question is simple: Would it kill the game if every character had a base of one attack with higher up and maybe certain classes getting maybe one extra attack or something in that ballpark? Alot of people say "well the spellcaster would out do a fighter type in damage. But if the fighter type is doing +16 damage is that still the case?
So I'm going to be a guy that rides around on a dragon that I'm bonded to. According to the DM this dragon gets animal compainion class features SO if I'm a wizard it can be my familar etc.
So I've SKIMMED through the new players book and the one thing that struck me was there's alot of fun stuff in it. From the witch (CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY ONE)to the magic items such as the old gender girdle to the castle in the sky. It just seemed to me that its full of fun stuff.
So how would you do it without it being too powerful? Do you keep invocations as is or would you have to damage? what about eldritch blast? do you lower the damgage? One of the theames of C&C is simplifing things. Invocations does not do this. Would just using spells in the C&C book be better or worst? certainly some spells are too over the top.
First off, Wow!
So there were four of us in the game. The warlock, the duskblade, the ranger and the cleric. We had worked our way up to 16th level but even before then combat was starting to wear us down. Now even though this was 3.5, we could be talking about pathfinder also.
1.A witch has a familar that is basicly a spellbook. 2.Each day the witch "learns" the spells she will use for that day. 3.IF the familar dies, she can still
4.Unless a Hex says otherwise, the witch can cast the same Hex over and over. A witch's hex works seperatly from her familiar and so the witch can cast hexes even if the familr is dead. Do I have it right?
I do not know how long this will stay up here, but I feel that as someone who buys, and plays your products, you should give me a moment here. The purpose of this thread is stated as "This board is for posting feedback, observations, and playtest reports on the Cavalier and Oracle base classes set to appear in the Advanced Player's Guide" I stated my opinion -ie feedback-. Just because it's not what you did not want to hear does not make it unvaled. I understand that no matter what is said on this board you will go ahead and publish what you want to, and that's your right. But please do not ask for my opinion and then shoot me down when I give it. -an offended Customer
Why? Read the paladin, then close your eyes and think of all the famous knights of legends and many of them are paladins. But I dont want a lawful GOOD knight you say. I want the Green Knight or the Black knight. Ok. I think the knight or if you must call him Cavalier for whatever reason would be better as a prestige class. The ideas of Banners, challanges etc are great, but I believe would be better as a prestige class. The thing is the base classes are just so well done that having more seems redundent.
Ok so I tried to have fedex print the FREE pdf that is meant for MY use at Fedex online and was told they could not do it. Why? The print is for my own personal use, I'm not going to resale it. It's meant for me to use it right?? It's not even the blessed final copy of what it's meant to be. Please give me some clarity on this.
Found this on the net today http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl108.html In a nut shell it stats
Sooo dose this mean that "The Storytelling System" is free to use since that is the name of the game?

I have not watched BG all the way through so lo and behold I pick up where they touch down to earth and find it a wasteland. What's going on? They all remember dieing on earth thousands of years ago. was that only the cylons? or did the humans remember also? Is everyone a cylon? Or is everyone reincarnated? Is starbuck a cylon and if so, than why does patch say his wife is the last one????
I grew up watching star trek reruns in the late 70's. As a child I believed everything the show was telling me. That in the future it will not matter what you are but who you are on the inside. That mankind will have evolved.
