I have recently purchased one of the "new" Kindles, the larger screen variety with integrated PDF reading ability. The first thing I did was download my purchased copy of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook.

1) The PDF did display and was completely readable.
2) Due to the amount of graphics on each page (the background of every page being a graphic for example) turning pages was excruciatingly slow.
3) None of the bookmarks worked. This was a massive loss of functionality.

Any help in converting this PDF to Kindle format would be appreciated. Used Amazon's free service and got back something quite unreadable. The graphics once again an issue and the text was a complete mess.

The Kindle format (and eBook formats in general) are really meant for running text, with perhaps occasional illustrations. Attempting to squish our heavily design-oriented products into those formats would require a *lot* of effort, and I doubt you'd find the results all that pleasing or useful in the end.

Yeah the kindle works horrible for gaming books. Now Prince of Wolves on the other hand ... well I'm having to hand convert it, but it'll look nice.

The Kindle lets you access non-Amazon ePubs, right? If so, I wouldn't spend too much time on your conversion—we intend to have ePub editions of our Pathfinder Tales novels available in the very near future.

Well it has to be converted and if there's DRM there's a bigger issue

EDIT:
Also the Kindle's native format is AZW for files from Amazon. It can also read PRC/Mobi files that can be created with MobiCreator for MobiPocket devices. Text files also work.

It would be great to see the various formats offered as directly purchasable from here instead of having to go buy them from elsewhere. (And maybe an option for subscribers to get a different format instead of PDF when needed)
