I'd love to see an AP written by the following guys: Nic Logue, Greg A. Vaughn, James MacKenzie, Mike Mearls (just re-read his awesome adventure "Root of Evil" in Dungeon #122. Boy, that was a fine game to run), Michael Kortez and Richard Pett.
Erik Mona wrote: What form would you like these books to take? I'd like the rulebooks to be only as many as is absolutely needed. I wouldn't like an approach to release a certain amount of rule books each year. This might lead to the already known notion to "save" certain things for future books (like gnomes or bards in 4E). I don't want to see a PHB 2 or a Complete-series just for the sake of releasing rule books. Please don't get me wrong! I don't expect paizo to follow this trend, but I thought mentioning concerns is as important as being excited... So, please release the core rules and the Psionics & Epic books and then please take your time before releasing additional rule books. I'd like to see a well done book like Complete Rogue from 2nd Ed. too, but only if it's as good as that book. And please, don't feel the urge to follow this book with Complete-books on all the other classes. Sure, if you have awesome stuff to put into such a book, please release it, but don't force it to have books like this for all the classes. If you just don't have enough material and/or ideas to make a really, really Complete-book on monks, then please leave it off schedule. Thank you. Erik Mona wrote: Would you be interested in subscribing to such a line, provided the books cost somewhere around $35 a pop? No. As I already said, I only want as many rule books as are absolutely necessary! Carrying rule books around is just annoying! Please put as much rules into one book as possible! If you release a cool rule book I can't think of right now, I'll definitly buy it! But I wouldn't subscribe until I see a product schedule for this line of books... Erik Mona wrote: What titles/ideas would you like to see us explore? I'd like to see the book on Psionics! This one's a no-brainer to me. I'll take a close look at your take on epic rules, but I don't know if I'd buy it. I didn't feel a need for an Epic book and never considered buying or using the 3.0 epic rules (not because of the mechanics, but because I just don't like playing on this power level that much). I'd like to see a Golarion-specific arms & equipment book. This would be really, really cool and I'd buy it if it isn't totally done wrong.
Erik Mona wrote: We're all worried about rules bloat. What is your opinion of new classes and races? I like new classes, that would fit. I'd like to see an Assassin-, Knight- and Blackguard-base class. New classes are really cool, as long as they aren't totally obscure or somewhat forced. I'd like to see new NPC classes too! Erik Mona wrote: Are you as tired of prestige classes as I am? It depends. If a certain PrC has a place within the setting and isn't too specific (I don't need classes that can only be taken by characters born with three eyes on a night in which the sun was shining...), I'd like to see it. I still like the general concept of PrCs and am a little sad that a somewhat cool concept got beaten to death by several d20 publishers. Well, I hope this helps! I'm curious what you'll come up with!
I'd like new Epic rules to simply continue, where the core rules end. I don't want to learn a new system, just to level my PC from 20 to 21 or to continue the story in my campaign.
Owen Anderson wrote: For me a lot of the appeal of psionics (as a player) is that it *feels* different than magic. I honestly don't think I would be at all interested in a system that made powers work just like spells. Note that I'm not arguing against psionics-magic transparency, which I think is good, but allowing the psionics mechanics to feel like their own thing, rather than reskins of the sorcerer or wizard. I totally agree with this post. The fact that it uses a very different system than magic is important to me. I don't need another variant spellcasting class. I used Psionics in all their incarnations since 2nd edition and I'm still very pleased with the XPH rules. I won't repeat my opinion on it being overpowered or not, as I posted this several times in other Psi-threads and it isn't asked here.I like the flexibility of the system and the option to augment powers. This would be something that would have to be a part of a PFRPG-XPH to make me buy it. I'd like to see nice working rules for psionic combat! That would be something, that would make me buy the book on the spot. I always liked the idea of psionic combat, but it was poorly executed in all the psionics books I know.
Again, let me say what an awesome book this is! It's just great, but waaaaayyyy too short. I can't wait to see a sequel... There's some stuff I'd like to see; like an equipment section. I guess there would be enough leftz out that would justify a second book. So, ppl, please buy this great and useful book, so Paizo can't back out of releasing a second one. Well, at least it worked with CMR...
I'd look to the monk when attempting the soulblade. Of course, I don't know how it'll turn out, but putting monk into the fighter/psion mix feels like a little too much. Anyway, I'm curious what you'll come up with! I already printed out the psion and will use it, when one of my players demands to play a psionic character in PFRPG. Sadly, as we rolled up PCs for our current campaign in summer, I didn't accept psionic characters because they seemed weak compared to the "new" base classes. One of the players wanted to generate a psion. Well, he put mental training into his backstory, so it might be an option for multi-classing when they level up next time.
Yes, thanks for caring about the security of our data. I too was a bit worried from time to time about the "always logged on"-function. This solution is perfect. I can access the board and post right away. When I have to enter the security section, I normally have the time to re-enter my PW, because I don't have to go there that often. Thanks for the effort, Gary!

You might have noticed, that there are as many house runes, as there are demon lords. So, each house is tied to a certain demon lord. James talks a little about the connections in this thread.
Yes, I found this blog post really interesting and amusing as well. The cover is pure gold. Awesome! It was cool to learn the history behind these characters. I have to admit that I liked James' version of Treerazer better than Ben's. Ben's far superior in terms of art of course, but I like James' design better. It's a shame that Ben didn't know this picture when he got the art order as I'd expect that the result would've been even more awesome. I like the original Treerazer's wings and bird beak, while Ben's demon looks a little like a dragon or these dragonspawn vritters WotC did; he doesn't look like a demon to me. Don't get me wrong, it's a totally awesome piece of art, but the design could be better. I'd like to see more posts like these. I'm always interested in hearing stories like these; especially about the stuff the designers did for their home campaigns when they weren't professionals. Remember Erik's explosion dog from one of the Dungeon editorials? That was great! :-)

Post of the day! You just made my day... :-) alleynbard: The translations weren't that bad. The most german ppl that'll complain about bad translations on ENworld would prefer the english original even if the translations would be brilliant; just for being up to date. It's kinda "cool" in the german RPG scene to bash on local publishers. Don't ask me why; some freaky sort of elitism I believe. Most people probably couldn't even judge the quality of the translation, because only the most dedicated nerds and/or freaks would buy both versions. Of course, the translations aren't as good as the original. They can't be, because some terms are kinda awkward to translate into german. Well, I guess this is the case with most translations, no matter into which language it is translated.
As far as I know, the current holder of the D&D license (Feder & Schwert), that released the 4E core rules in late summer/autumn, ended the license or didn't renew it. I don't know about the official reasons, but one could speculate... The D&D-license was the main product of this publisher for years. I guess ending the license says a lot about 4E's state here in Germany.
I don't mind that Psions don't have Talents or 0-Lvl powers. Though, I wouldn't complain if these get added, but I don't see the need. I don't want the Psions to be tooo similar to arcanists and clerics. I always liked it, that the Psion uses a different mechanic for his powers and so having no 0-Lvl stuff would be fine with me. The request for power-chains is understandable and would feel "logic" in-game, but I'm afraid that with this mechanic, all Psions of a certain discipline would nearly look the same as all would take the necessary powers to get access to certain other, higher lvl powers.
I'm really curious why the iconics are getting so much attention. Personally, I couldn't care less about the iconics. Don't get me wrong; I like the art and their background stories were great and they're really nice as example characters that can be shown to new players, but I don't care at all, who's in which AP and who's not...
The GreenFeyBoy ist still excited! ...and it get's better and better! I love the playtesting and I love reading the thoughts of other DMs and players testing all over the globe and I love to see my favorite system evolving before my eyes! Thanks for this experience, Paizo! Thanks for sharing the excitement!

:-) I guess I'm lucky that - so far - Sebastian hasn't considered me as a "fine blend". Really, who would enjoy Absinth from germany? *runs*
Thanks a lot for the pictures, Fake Healer! Now I can imagine how it looks like. Is it easy to remove decks and put them back together? For example, if a fight moves from the upper deck down into the hull, will it stall the combat for a long time to remove the upper deck or is it easy to do so and continue?
