What would a good prestige class be for this character?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Im a Rogue 5 / sorcerer 1 currently, trying to come up with a good prestige class for a guy that plans on essentially being an opportinist in battle, moving around the battle attacking with Sneak Attack whenever possible, eventually using Invisibility and/or True Strike to assist in the availability of being able to get Sneak attacks in on the enemies.

I want to go into a Prestige class at some point, but I cant seem to find any that goes along with the idea Im setting foth for my character. Plus, is it me or are there very few such prestige classes so far?

Scarab Sages

Arcane Trickster? Master Spy (Maybe).

Grand Lodge

Are you limited to Pathfinder material? If not, the Unseen Seer from the 3.5 WotC Complete Mage is a better option than Arcane Trickster.

It's not just you. I was looking at the prestige classes for a similar build before the APG was released and there wasn't anything I liked from Paizo.

Just keep going rogue/sorcerer and don't worry about a prestige class actually, that should serve your concept just fine. You need a wand of Invisibility until you can afford the ring and your alright, grab a summon monster spell and you should have no trouble at all sneak attacking anything that isn't immune.

Sneak Attack is much more about your tactics anyway, you need friends to flank with and then you won't have problems with it.

That's pretty much totally Arcane Trickster...you will meet the prereqs eventually anyways (since you want 2nd level spells for Invisibility) and it will give you sneak attack and spell progression (eventually allowing for greater invisibility sneak attacks). Plus the class features themselves directly assist you with impromptu sneak attacks, silent spells, and a supernatural ability greater invis.

There are fewer Pathfinder RPG specific prestige classes, but they tend to be much more niche roles than the 3.5 ones. In this, they tend to truely be prestigious, with a stronger story/role-playing hook than a mechanical one.
