Aleph picks over the corpses but finds nothing much - these were a fairly impoverished bunch of kobolds, with poor equipment and little treasure. However, he finds that one of the kobolds was using a dagger, clearly not of kobold manufacture, that piques his curiosity. Examining it carefully, and the infernal motif on its hilt, he realises that this is an item of Chelish manufacture, made by the acolytes of Asmodeus to channel their borrowed power to more deadly effect. Clearly the kobold didn't know what was its scavenged dagger, but Aleph recognises a Chelaxian pact blade when he sees one.
"This.....is Chelaxian.....a pact dagger.
I wonder how the doglizard ended up with it....hmm....it's a warlock's implement."

"Naturally we are victorious! The vermin flee before the might and majesty of TRUE Dragon-power!" Marc preens and flashes his dazzling smile.
"Well,... I can't say that radishes are my favorite foodstuffs. BUT I hear they can be fermented." He shrugs, "Not that I have brewed anything myself. Although My family's brewers are very good at their task."
"Food's food. Want to go after the kobold, keeping in mind that that path may have more traps on it?"
"I'm game. I am nowhere near shooting my wad for the day."

Terra whispers to Sefra... "Remind me to sleep away from Aleph's area for the next few nights...."
Nods somberly.
"Very well! Then let us pursue the vile miscreant into what is almost certain to be an ambush!" Marc declares with a devil-may-care grin.
"Um,... After you!" He adds as an afterthought, motioning Aleph to go first.
"You may want Sefra to start leading us since she knows where at least the first tripwire is."
Sefra readily agrees, but eyes Aleph wearily. "You stay back a good 10 feet."
"I can blast the tripwires with eldritch force, if I know where they are."
From the back Hasren calls out "And I can get him back on his feet if it doesn't flat-out kill him!"
The party heads after the kobold. Sefra points out the tripwire she noticed earlier so the others can step over it, and she also notices the pit trap a bit further on, which they walk around. Eventually, in a thick tangle of bushes, they come across a small cleft in the ground which seems to lead deeper. However, it looks like it will be a struggle for anyone bigger than a kobold to get through.
Marc looks at the small hole with obvious disdain. He glances to the others.
"What? Oh, you can't be serious,..." He says in a mixture of revulsion and fear, glancing again at the hole.
"Do we bury this hole and let them eventually dig their way out if they don't have another way already, or do we take care of them now..." "I don't fancy crawling around in there especially if it gets any tighter..." "But I also don't fancy leaving enemies behind me..."
"I saw we build a fire in the mouth and fan the smoke into it, and then once the fire is going well pile more wood on and let it stew for a bit."
"I'm good at fire...."
"I'm the smallest of us, and I still won't fit in there..." Heimoth shrugs apologetically. "I like the idea of smoking them out, though."
"There might be females. Young. Or innocent prisoners therein."
then;
"Let's get some really really wet leaves going."
"Sefra and I can start gathering leaves, then between Aleph, Marc, and I we should be able to get a smokey fire going."
Marc looks much happier with the idea of smoking them out.
"Fire is good. Fire, I can do!" he says with a grin.

Terra will start digging an indention in the ground to put the leaves in at the cave entrance have to be forest fire conscious.....
Nature Check
The fire is soon smoking merrily, somehow without setting the rest of the stand alight. However, there is little activty beyond that from the tunnel entrance.
Marc looks a little concerned at the lack of response from the smoke.
"Do you suppose that they have a back door?,..." he asks the others.
"I would say it's extremely likely, or that the cave system is so big that this smoke hasn't had a chance to go deep enough... if that were the case we might be here awhile... It's possible the tunnel gets bigger after the entrance, we could excavate a little and see once we are sure the smoke isn't working. "
"Maybe we could make some type of rudimentary lathe to help make shovels or picks? To make digging easier. Or maybe Terra can shapeshift into something small."
Terra whines "Terra the panther is shorter than me but longer so I'd probably squeeze in... but I hate enclosed spaces...."
Terra pleads "Can we try something else first???"
"I'll go first." Heimoth puts down his big shield. "Let's see if I can squeeze in wearing my real armour first."
I'll go.....next....ish.
"If I have to I'll go but I won't like it..." Terra says poutingly...
