The remaining two swordsmen don't take the hint and swing on.
Both attack Heimoth.
Attack from SS1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13, damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Attack from SS3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17, damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Marc 21 - bloodied
Thom 14+
S&S 14-- - all bloodied, all marked by Heimoth
Quinn 13
Leader 12 - unconscious
Heimoth 12
Aleph 7
Haz Gunn 4
Quinn.
Heimoth
No move, using Holy strike on the swordsman in O20. Attack roll 11+5=AC 16, damage 1d10+5 (I get my WIS bonus in extra damage as he is marked)=12. I then Challenge the other swordsman in N22.
"You are no match for anyone with any form of training - and we now outnumber you three to one. Give up now or face the swift and final judgement of Gorum! I will not ask again."
Hasren Gunnarrsson
Continuing his Ulfen war-song, Hasren advances to attack the closest bandit still standing.
This puts him in either square O19 attacking the bandit in O20, or he circles the bandit in N22, to attack from square M22.
Guiding Strike
To Hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 vs AC
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The skald's blow hits home, opening another wound & briefly knocks his opponent off balance!
-2 penalty to the bandit's Reflex defense until the end of my next turn.

I'd like to capture another bandit to interrogate separately from the leader, so if my blow is the one to take him down, I'd like it to be a knock-out blow vs a killing blow. We'll tie him up & hold him separately from the leader so neither is aware of the other.

Heimoth's attack is deflected by the bandit's shield but Hasren finishes the job, cutting him down. The last bandit standing takes the hint and decides enough is enough; he throws down sword and shield and begins crying like a girl, begging for his life.
Yay! Complicated, but we got there in the end. End of combat. 100xp each.
Heimoth
Huzzah! Well fought, y'all, especially considering how badly we executed the ambush. ;D Once we finally wrap our heads around the different effects and how to track them, I think the next fight will go a lot smoother.
Heimoth kicks the bandit's sword away before patting down the miscreant, looking for further weaponry.
Thomdril
As the final combatant drops his weapon, the grim mask falls away from Thom's face. His limbs go slack and he collapses into a squat, head hanging low, weapon clattering to the ground.
A few ragged breaths are heaved in before he mutters, "So… fellas…. i guess we did it." A weak smile rests upon his bloodless face. "… think im'a be sick."
He will sit there for a few moments, one hand on the ground keeping his balance while the other covers his overly-pale face, the unconscious leader all but forgotten on the ground next to him.
Hasren Gunnarrsson
Once the prisoners are secured, Hasren will suggest keeping them separated so they can't cook up a common story before we question them. Once the prisoners are settled in, he'll pull out his flute & play a restful little melody to further soothe his & his companions' battle lust.
Song of Rest Each surge spent during the short rest heals surge+3 HP.
Also, I'm going to need to figure out some way to remember that once per round when one of the party other than me bloodies, or reduces a foe to 0HP, I can grant them 4 temporary HP. More play will probably help! ;D
Marc Wyvernspur
Marc eyes the begging bandit with a smirk as Heimoth binds him.
"Well, there IS intelligent life in the woods after all!" He says brightly.
Thx for the saves guys! I agree, now that we have a clue, the next battle should be better, or at least easier. (I think it went pretty well considering that we blew the 'surprise' part of it!) ;)

it'll...get better, next time...just bad dreams...that'll go on till you...don't care anymore.....the throwing up goes away though, next fight....pretty soon it'll be fun. This'll all be a joke.

OK, you want to separate the bandits and then question them. Where are you putting them? What are you asking them?
I'd suggest the one Hasren knocked out in the stables on the side closest to the gate, the one that surrendered in the guest quarters, and the leader in the storage shed by the middens. I'd like Hasren to take the first crack at the one he knocked out. Depending on how that works out we can then decide who takes each of the others & what approach to take.
If possible, I'd like to leave Hasren's bandit unconcious until I'm ready to start questioning. Assuming that's possible... I'd like to have at least Heimoth & Aleph in on the questioning to play blood-thirsty goons wanting to off this piece of filth (throw some Intimidate checks on him for me will you guys?)
"Welcome back to the world of the living." Hasren says to the bandit after tending to his wounds.
Heal check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 to revive/trigger Second Wind if any
"I for one, admire your bravery..." Brief pause to let Heimoth & Aleph be really scary guys "and thought you might be worth saving." he says glancing back at the scary men, and then gives the bandit an almost apologetic look.
"But you're going to have to do something to convince my companions that you're worth saving. I have a few ideas, but you'd do yourself the most good if you came up with something yourself. Any ideas?" he says with a hopeful look.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 - to deliver the offer
Insight 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 - to read his reaction & evaluate his response.
Oh... and a question would I be able to use Words of Friendship to gain a +5 power bonus to the Diplomacy check here? I think making a good impression is important.
Thomdril
Since i don't really have any really relevant skill-sets...
"I'll just keep an eye on the ones yer not talkin' to, fellas... let me know if you need anything else."
He helps secure the bandits, and will act the sentry with the ones who are not currently being questioned.
Marc Wyvernspur
"I shall be more than happy to assist! I do have a way with words after all!" Marc declares cheerily as they prepare to interrogate the captives.
The enthusiastic dandy agrees, (albeit reluctantly) to allow Heimoth the first crack at the one he knocked out. But intends to be there (ie='lead') the next round of interrogations.
"I fear I am not not very intimidating, but I've got a silver tongue and I can charm a dragon out of it's treasure!" He declares proudly. His grin suggests that it was most likely ladies, not dragons he was charming,...

Questions:
when you came here, was there a rear scout watching you approach, or was it just the six of you?
who is the leader....the female? what's her name? what's her mode of combat?
how many guys you got in your crew? arms? armor? horse? how many horses? are you all human? orcs? ogres? what?
what do they pay you?
where is your main base of operations? how's it guarded?
are you guys independent operators, or you working for somebody else?
are you guys messing with anybody else, or just this fort? if so, then who?
do you have anybody alive that doesn't want to be held by you? if so, are you ransoming them?
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
Aleph somehow fails to menace - catarrh will do that. Heimoth glowers convincingly, so the bandit decies to talk to Hasren.
"Er, it was just us. Didn't expect no army to be here. We live back in the woods, work for Kressle. Happs' humpin' 'er, so he gets to lead us. Kressle says she's her own boss, but I reckon the Stag King lets her operate or he'd do for us. Don't think we go no prisoners... So, er, can I go now? I promise I won't do no robbin' no more."
Aleph
"Not quite yet. Where in the woods...we need you to tell us. What's your base like? How many bandits are there?
Kressle.....what's she look like? What can she do?
Is Happ the guy who led you here?
And tell me everything you know about the Stag King. Is he at your base?"
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
"Er, well, you sort of head down the valley, go into the woods, cross the river using the old log, go through the fairy clearing, over the ridge, round the flat rock, under the tree and you're there. More or less. Though it's easy to get lost. Guess that's why Kressle put the camp there. There's normally between four and eight there at one time - most of the time we're out foraging, not banditing. Me, I don't like the banditing, much prefer the foraging. Er, yeah...
"What can Kressle do? Well, if you ask Happ, she can do pretty much all you want! Heh heh! Heh. Er... Oh, you mean in a fight. She's nasty with those axes, one in each hand. I wouldn't like to face her. Not in a fight anyway, eh? Maybe in a bedroll. Heh heh! Heh. Oh yeah, you didn't find that funny last time either. Er...
"Yeah, it's Happ led us here - useless git. He's a bad'un. And a real liar too. Don't believe when he says we're all bandits like him. Me, I just forage, didn't want to come on this trip, only Happ made me. I was really scared of him, he said he'd kill me. Best kill him before he wakes up. I'm glad you managed to, y'know, rescue me from a life of deepravitee. Oh yes, found me just in time, before I did any real banditing, or murdering, or anything like that.
"Oh yeah, the Stag King. Never met him, heard he has a base further south, but I've never been there. Kressle has a badge she likes to show off, with a stag's head on it, said the Stag King gave it to her, said she could work for him, but Kressle just works for herself as far as I can tell. But she seems a bit scared of him, and Kressle doesn't scare easy.
"So, er, now you've rescued me, and I've told you everything, I'll just take my stuff and go, yeah? Yeah?"
Heimoth
"No." Heimoth glares at the bandit. "If it turns out this was good info, we'll let you go. And the only way we'll know is by going there and rub out this Kressle character. And if it was bad info... Well, then we might not come back, in which case I'll instruct Oleg to do whatever the hell he wants with you. For your sake, I hope you treated him and his wife well on your previous visits."
Hasren Gunnarrsson
"You heard the man. Your info will need to check out before we can decide whether you'll go free or not. Your cooperation has allowed you to continue breathing for a while at least. By the way, your companions, do you care if they get a decent burial or not? If you do, we should probably get their names. If they have kin nearby who would appreciate getting the bodies back, we should get their names & locations too."
Basically, I'm trying to find out the name of the other bandit that we captured without letting on that anyone else has been captured. I figure that might help Marc with his silver-tongued approach. Also, Hasren's evaluating his character to see how he responds with this bit of prompting.

"I see..." Hasren briefly shows a look of disappointment, his demeanor cools, and his eyes harden.
"You'd best hope your information checks out! Else your head on a pike will serve warning to others of the penalties for banditry hereabouts."
"Could someone make sure this lout is securely bound? I need some fresh air." Hasren says as he strides out of the stable.
Hasren Gunnarrsson
I'm done with interrogating this bandit & ready to see what the other two have to say. How about the rest of you?
Hasren stops just short of running into Marc. "Gah! Sorry. Wasn't expecting anyone out here. I think we got all that's useful out of this one. You want to see if the one who surrendered tells us the same? Or if he has any more information to give up?"
Hasren Gunnarrsson
"Let's do it. We need as much information as possible before setting out to take on more bandits."
We're saving the leader until last, then?
It might be foolish to trust the word of a bandit, but it sounds like the leader might be a hard-case & so I figure it would be best to go at him armed with all the information we can get from the other two.
