Alright, since The Old Republic blasts off this week and since I'm quite surprised no one has formed one yet, shall we start the Hoth snow ball rolling?
Would some one like to nominate a name or three?
I am partial to a few names myself such a "The Whills," but lets nominate some more.
What types of servers whould you guys want to go on? I am partial to RPvE in the beginning at least.
Shall we play both sides of the conflict and if so which Side should we start out with.
Should we ask Lisa Stevens or Vic Wertz to be our honourary Guild Lords?

I'm certainly interested.
Not familiar enough with the Extended Universe lore to suggest a name that is both appropriate and non-tragically nerdy, so I'd be inclined to back a name with some sort of connection to Paizo/Pathfinder.
Serverwise...
strong preference for a PVE server rather than a PVP one (you can always PVP if you want to, but IMO you shouldn't have to)
moderate preference for a non-RP server for much the same reason (it's easy to RP on a non-RP server (excluding immersion matters) but depending on the game/community/server some RP servers can get a bit critical of people inclined to more casual RP)
I'm expecting my first few characters to all be Empire (SI main, then an IA, a SW, another SI, and a BH - because I tend to do my MMO characters in the same stupid/annoying/convoluted manner I do my tabletop characters).

I'd say something with the name "Pathfinders" in the guild name.
The REAL question is what kind of server? PVE, PVP, or roleplaying PVP?
I was going to do roleplaying PVP, but that's pretty time intensive and my buddy who is playing is a real nub to video games but MMOs in particular (he's going to get squashed on a server like that).
I have another group of people on a PVE server.
And you guys here. Doesn't sound like they'll be many PF people playing.
So I'm not quite sure...
As for Empire/Republic, I was thinking Empire, but it seems like everyone is going empire. Unlike most people, I'd prefer to be on the less populated side, but I'm not sure what that is atm.

I think Empire's more popular among the beta/early-access/chatting-on-forums crowd, but after release, once people are buying boxes off shelves over the next few weeks, there'll be a bump for the republic as the more casual players will tend towards JK & smuggler -- and one way or another we can probably safely assume that at some point, irrespective of their main character, everyone will play a JK.
Plus all the Andoran's will be playing Jedi boy scouts :)

Guild names...
"The Paizonium Falcon"
"What Kessel run?"
"We are your fathers.." (depending on our ages)
"Jar Jar for Emperor!"
"Dude, where's my Lightsaber?"
"Death Star Maintenance Crew"
"Ewok and Woll"
"You mean this isnt WoW?"
1) How serious is this guild?
2) Need a PvE server that I ping well to (east coast and always a healer).
3) Prefer Sith (Inquisitor/Sorcerer) but will go the good route if need be (Consular/Sage).

Early access has begun for the people that pre ordered. Is there a type of sever that everyone agrees on? What side, ect.
I'm all for RPvE or PvE and definitely starting as Sith but will go with the groups choice, let's get Guild going, hmmm 'Forcefinder' could work but is a tad too geeky lol.

One other thing to consider is server location - though I didn't have many problems with lag during beta when I played on a US server.
If there are a disproportionate number of people on the East coast/West coast/Europe then it should be straight forward; otherwise, if there's no strong preference then might I suggest a server on the East coast so that our European electrons don't have to treck all the way over to California?

I still haven't gotten an invite to play. My friends... who have jobs, are all level 20+ now. Grrrrr...
This is why I already have an alt, and he's higher level than my main - I'm keeping my main low level until all my friends can play at once. My girlfriend wants to play a class that has the same starting planet as my main, so he's still only level 5 because I don't want to get too far ahead.

Star Wars TOR is the best game I've played in a very very long time. It's like Dragonage (1), but it's an MMO. Significant decision making, interesting character choices, great story.
Graphics and game play (on the Jedi Consular) are very decent as well. Haven't even done PVP yet, I'm too engrossed in the storylines to care. But I'm sure it's fun also.
The group missions are very easy at low level, but this is a good thing since most people don't even know what CC is. Which surprises me since I figured most people would be MMO vets. AE is flying everywhere, lol!
I thought I'd try out different characters, but I'm too engrossed in my current character for now. Maybe later!

On Crevasse City (east coast server)
Alessorei - Human female Jedi Consular/Sage (Heal spec) 12
Persephonexis - Cyborg female Smuggler 1 (eventually going Gunslinger)
Xoon - Ratataki male Sith Inquisitor 6 (my first toon)
Loving the game, just completed the Essele Flashpoint (3 man with a companion filling out the fourth slot). Tried 2 manning it with 2 companions.... umm... no. Ironhand kicked our arses in. Companions are good for hard quests, but dont rely on em in flashpoints.
I dont know what my latency will be to a west coast server but I usually play a critical healer role, so I would prefer to stay east coast.

Well, currently on Elysium, with Ravi, the 19/20 Vanguard.
Will likely be starting a new character shortly, though...perhaps a Guardian.
Shall we start up the guild then please?
Otherwise we could also join Wraith Squadron which is the guild formed by some of the Star Wars Galaxy Guide and novel writers. I am all for a Pathfinder guild too.

I'm all for it! Will have to look into the guild-creation rules.
Drop me a tell ig, so I can add you to my friends list.

My main is on the Telos Restoration Project - a Sith Marauder whom I am very much enjoying. However, I fear my video card just cannot handle the game, even on the lowest settings because it's VERY difficult for me to steer myself, let alone do everything else.
I'm looking to upgrade soon thanks to an influx of Christmas monies, so I'll check back in once I have a frame rate higher than 10-14 fps. =\

I'm not sure upgrading is going to improve your FPS too much. A lot of people with high end machines are even complaining about this.

I7-2600, GTX480, 8GB RAM runs like a dream.... BUT...
Sometimes (very rare) there is choppiness in a main city in certain areas. It's solved by shutting down the game and restarting. It sounds like a memory leak to me, but I'm not sure. If it is, Bioware has to patch it anyhow. Happened to me 2x on the first day I got to the Sith main city on Dromund Kaas it happened when I first walked into the Mandalorian Enclave, and once again at the Cantina. It also happened on different occasions on Coruscant, and the Jedi Consular's starting planet near the trainers.
Anyhow - moved to Anturi Reach (east coast server) for 2 of my old WoW buddies, a tad more poulated than Crevasse City.
Alessorei - Human female Jedi Consular/Sage 20 (Seer Specced)
Xandar- Chis male Bounty Hunter/Mercenary 14 (Arsenal Spec)

Running an AMD tri core 3.4, 8gig ram, and a 550gtx Nvidia card and during pvp matches I dip to the teens, same with the fleet hubs with lots of people around. I'm above the min requirements and yet at times it's hardly playable. I was worried it was only me before I saw the main forums. They're on their 3 forum now after the others exceeded their limit.
Hoping something is looked into soon T_T
So far I've got my Jedi Shadow up to 46 though. Can't decide if I want to be dps or tank yet though when it comes to raiding. Until raiding I'm stuck in dps mode though.

This is an amazing game! If you like roleplaying storylines, hard decisions, and dialogue, you'll like this game. I like the questing so much, I've stopped logging off in rest areas, I want to do all the quests. First time in an MMO.
As for the lag, I find the same thing. If I play for 2-3 hours, some cities get really laggy. I shut down the game and restart it, it fixes everything. I think they have a memory leak, but I'm sure they'll fix it soon.
I have:
Level 35 Jedi Consular (seer): Great story
Level 14 Sith Inquisitor: I think I'm too annoyed with the evil side to continue, lol. :)
Somehow my friends convinced me to play on a PVE server, bug mistake, I should have played on a PVP server. Sigh.

Space Slug is a PVE server, sorry.
I have a couple low level toons on Jung Ma, which is a RP PVP server.
On Space Slug I have a 46 Sorceror Sith Inquisitor, 12 Powertech Bounty Hunter, 12 Operative Imperial Spy and 6 Sith Warrior...I also have a Jedi Consular that I'm going darkside with...some of the conversation options so far are pretty humorous...

I had some serious problems on Tatootine today. Frame rate dropped to such an abysmal low that tapping "a" or "d" resulted in a 5-7 second delay before turning 270 degrees. Wound up running off a cliff and getting stuck in a wedge of rock, trapped in an eternal jump so I couldn't quick travel out. Was forced to resort to /stuck.
It only happened whenever I was in a settlement - any place with a quick travel station and/or a taxi droid. Very frustrating.
Despite that, I enjoy the story. It only bothers me a little bit now when I'm in a dialogue and nobody's eyes rendered.
Jamming along with my *almost* light side iii Sith Marauder. Haven't had a desire to make a different class yet.
I am glad to be off Tatooine though. I feel like I understand Luke much better now.

Yay, they fixed the lag and framerate problems with a major patch late last night, at least for me!
I am glad to be off Tatooine though. I feel like I understand Luke much better now.
LOL! On the Republic side, I liked Tatooine and I didn't find it too long or boring. The story was amazing. I actually finished each and every quest.
On the Republic side, Taris is much much worse. Taris is Rhakghoul hell, and I killed WAY too many of them. Most boring part of the game so far. I hate Rhakghouls! :)
If I'd know better at the time, I would have left Taris (when bored) and finished just my class quests on Taris, and embarked for Nar Shadaa, which is MUCH MUCH better, OMFG yes. lol.
| Dal Selpher |
I left the Bonus Series on Tatooine unfinshed because of my aforementioned issues doing basic things like steering and walking. Hopefully this patch will make things better for me too.
I have to say though, some of the coolest moments I've experienced so far are during dialogue sequences when some of the iconic musical themes can be heard right after I pick a response.
I did have fun in a remote portion of Tatooine, near an isolated farmstead. I ran up to the top of a nearby dune, with the homestead behind me and the twin suns in front nearly setting, and wondered if Tashi Station was place in the game and if a vendor there sold power converters.
