"Get that overgrown lizard! ."

Abraxi dispatches the crocodile while Raul stares into the spray of colors. Wembley orders Whiskers to attack the crocodile, but it's not moving any more.

Can't move stuff on the map for a few hours.

Antonella moves N-N-E 15' to set up a flank with Ticlo, but does not immediately strike Caught helpless.

Instead, she readies an action to SMACK the kitsune rogue if he fights on once he regains consciousness.

I move around and ready an action to whap Caught with my cane, such as it is, if he tries to get away - as if I haven't messed with him enough already. Don't forget his shadow anchor!

Ticlo staggers to his feet, then attempts to grapple the fox again.

Grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Wembly will call off the green cat.

"whiskers...down! It is already dead. Come stay with me. I think the others have our friend. We will see what the fox has to say now."

Ticlo finally grapples the stunned kitsune. Sihir and Antonella prepare to strike in case the foxguy tries to get away.

Wembkly calls out "Antonella, do you need help with the foxman? Otherwise I will hold off!"

"Dear Wembly, the Iro-shu teaches it is improper to bite a fox when he is down ... for he may get up."

Antonella cycles her arms through a judo pose, speaking without taking her eyes off Caught. "I would suggest holding your attack until our fox-friend decides whether he's had enough or not."

to shorten it a bit, you have all six scrolls fragments now

Caught refuses to fight and does not attempt to break the grapple.

What do you want to do with him?

"I'll hold him here. The rest of you help the wizard figure out the poem."

"Actually, Raul, you help me hold him down."

Eventually, Raul stands up. "What was that?"
He gathers up his sword and sheathes it. Then he sees Ticlo trying to be strong and laughs to himself. "This is Gorum's work, friend!"
Assist in grapple/pin as needed, try to keep myself between fox & exits.

Do you want to do something with the scroll fragments, or do you take the foxguy to Mistress Koi?

Abraxi pauses, thinking, "Can the scroll fragments be assembled now that we have them all?"

"Hehe, you will never find out how to do that! Haha!" Caught laughes.

And let's not forget our bargain with the watery creature...before it floods more....now that we caught Caught."

Antonella admonishes the kitsune calmly. “‘NEVER’ is a very long time, brother who is Caught.”

“Hmm ... the question at the end of the poem is: Who dined last?”

The paladin pauses to think. “Maybe we have to get the fragments in chronological order, in order to work out who dined last?”

Sihir rifles through the collected poems. He stares for a second at poem "H."

"Forgive me, did we encounter a magical sword? Or swordfish? And somebody look into that crocodile...." He motions to the crocodilian corpse behind him.

Sihir thinks that the scroll fragment can still be activated to summon a monster.

Caught's lauging stops abruptly and his face goes stern when he hears his name again. You see the scroll fragments move from your hands and stick together. Once reassembled the scroll draws Caught helplessly back into his extradimensional prison. unless somebody tries to hold him back

Ticlo lets go of the fox. "I've read some captivating poetry in my time, but this is ridiculous."

"Did we win?" Raul asks as the poem sucks up the fox creature.

Abraxi smirks at Ticlo's remark, then turns to Raul. "I believe we need to pay a visit to the grodair."

“Did we win, Good Raul?”

Antonella pretends to look aghast. “Old Man’s Beard, soldier! It was a slaughter, a rout, a veritable feast for vultures!”

She smiles. “As Abraxi and Wembly have mentioned, we just need to visit one more fish in order to stem the silent tide.”

" I am sure he or she or it will be happy and stop with all of the water. Who knows how long it will take to drain the place.."

He thinks for a bit.

"I wonder if there are sponge golems? Oh well."

"Fine work men! And... women. To the fish!" Raul declares, making sure he's collected all of his gear.

“Sponge golems, Wembly?” The paladin arches an eyebrow. “I understand water elementalists have constructed golems from coral – so creating ones from sea sponges seems not too much of a stretch.”

Antonella’s expression is unfathomable. “Ollysta Zadrian informs me when priestesses of the Dawnflower recite the create water incantation backwards, they instead cast evaporate water. So perhaps my Faction’s clerical cadre will be called on for assistance.”

"Antonella, yes a lowering of water spell may be more appropriate or efficient. As a summoning specialist, or at least I inspire to be one day, i tend to try solving problems with creatures being integral in the solution ."

You return the scroll prison to Mistress Koi. Once you enter the Archives you see water coming down the staircase again. Upstairs, you see Mistress Koi producing water again.

"Who are you?" she asks "Do I know you? Have you seen a handsome guy, looking like a dogfox?"

Wembly will greet her in sylvan

Hello again Mistress Koi. We return with good news of our hunt for the fox.
We caught Caught and returned him to his prison of poems.
Per our agreement, you can please stop flooding these halls?

he shows her the contract.

Mistress Koi reads the contract and eyes the signature precisely. "Well, that is my signature. I just wanted to test you." she answers and stops the flooding, again. "The kitsune is in it's prison? How did you manage to get him back?"

Wembly explains the ordeal with the poem fragments.

It was really a combined effort actually. Brilliant folks on our team and all...not to be outfoxxed by a fox.

"Well, then it's time for me to go and guard the foxy guy in his prison again, for the next millenias. Have you seen other creatures from the poem? If so, they have to decide if they want to return or stay here." Mistress Koi answers and starts to suck back all the water.

"Umm... I don't think they'll be going back with you, if that's what you're asking."

"I rather hope not. I liked the owl and the albatross-oh, wait, you're talking about all the others." Sihir's ensuing laughter borders on the inappropriate.

"What happend to the owl and the albatross? And who else escaped?" the koi asks.

“I’m not sure what happened to the owl and albatross.”

Antonella is hopeful that her honesty won’t land both feathers in hot water. “It was obvious from speaking to them that they have the greatest respect for your abilities, Mistress Koi. Wherever they are, I’m sure they still think of you with awe.”

Antonella considers the second part of the question. “The ‘who’ is specified in the complete poem. However as Ticlo implied, none of those creatures escaped from us.”

"I'm glad to hear that." Mistress Koi says. After removing all the water from the archives she swims into the verbal whirlpool, followed by the albatros and the owl who joined you in the last minutes.

"It was nice to meed you, but we will go back to our home. It's way to dry here." the albatros says.

Finally, the script settles back to its original form, and the scroll drops to the floor, its magic dormant once more.

"You have to admit, you don't see a sight like that every day. I am glad she kept her promise."

Wembly smiles as he scratches Whiskers behind the ears. The cat just looks uncomfortable as he tries to dry out his damp fur.

Raul sheathes his sword and proudly declares, "Mission accomplished! Great work everyone."

Sihir picks up the scroll and looks at it with enthusiastic fascination.

"Venture-Captain Shane might yet want to see this."

Antonella nods in agreement with the Wayang wizard. "And just think, brothers. Should one of VC Shaine's protégés discover the wee scroll and read a fragment of it, this whole process will be repeated!"

"BUT, in that case they'll have to find some other Pathfinders to investigate the flood." The cleric *winks* "Because I'm done with the Overflow Archives."

V.C. Shaine already awaits you. "Did you stop the flooding? Did you save any of the items from drowning?" he asks.

"I think so," Sihir says calmly. "But this is where it all began," He says as he hands over the problem scroll. "It was quite something to see."

"We moved several rows of books and scrolls higher so they wouldn't be ruined. It was fine work all around!" Raul declares proudly.

Antonella bows at the waist. “Well! I think we can spray we did our best, Master of Towels. The archive is safe for you to sea.”

The monk attempts to take the higher ground with VC Shaine. “Hopefully our best meets your exacting standards. If not, let minnow.”

Wembly chuckles at Antonella's jokes and is afraid to say much more without laughing.

Shaine takes the scroll "A scroll disguised as a poem. Very interesting." the elf says. "Well done, Pathfinders. Now go and dry your clothes. You look like thugs from the Puddles!" and he walks away.

"Master of Towels, I have to remember that." Shaine mumbles to himself.
