OK, I think Caspan Saal is just about done. I'm still missing one feat, but wondering before I pick if we're likely to play some at fourth level. That'll probably determine whether I pick something that'll be part of a chain or just go with something a little more immediate.
Just wanted to reassure that I'll keep the Alliance-Empire verbal sparring to a reasonable level. :) A dose of intrateam conflict can be fun, though. (makes me think of drama-filled comics like The X-Men) Makes for good tension when one former enemy has to back up/rescue another, too.
I think a little back and forth is fine. Monsanto isn't such a zealot that he can't see the value in working with the 'other side.' Right now we're all just on edge because we're in a hostile place with strangers that may want to take our candy.
The warden on "Alcatraz" was a well-done character, IMO. He came off as this nice paternal figure but then was revealed to have this somewhat sadistic, very Machiavellian streak. Very creepy.
Zachman, I can't help but laugh and facepalm at the "Great Gatsby" thing... That was a good book/movie btw good choice in NPC. It really helped give him a face for me too lol.
Yeah, my personal brand of "creativity"(if you can call it that). Is drawing from other sources then mashing it all together until it somewhat works. Hope your all ok with that.
Here he is; a quadruped with arms, so he could wield a simple weapon (I'd choose a morningstar). His AC is already pretty good. If you'd like I can PM you a proposal of gear.
Bah! Choosing magical items is beyond difficult. Part of me wants to make him a combat badass by getting a mace +1 with spell storing, allowing him to drop 1 cause medium wounds into the thing for smacking enemies.
The other half of me thinks I should go the tactical route and get something like an immovable rod, which has oh so many uses.
Also, he didn't specify what the spending limit was for weapons. Even though Monsanto is not proficient, he's tempted to ask for a pistol, just for the prestige of it.
I built up Jacinthe and Kiru as a 'flank buddy' experiment, so for them I'm gonna use my two (see above) items as magic weapons. I don't know what we're up against either, but few things are resistant to acid, so +1 Acid Bastard for Jacinthe and a +1 Menacing Morningstar (helps flanking buddies) for Kiru. I figure few things are resistant to acid, and I don't know if we're fighting good, evil, undead, flumphs...
Monsanto, I don't know if you're wanting to buff or do melee; tough choices! You could get a Greyflame weapon, or a Rod, but if if you get the Immovable Rod, though, you've 'lost' 3,000 gp unless you can convince Zachman to let you use the rest as a ring or something. You are also the one person who can step up to medium armor and be more of a tank, and get a masterwork weapon. Unsure if that would be as fun as making things go splat. :D
Caspan, Ignis, what did you decide on? We should loop Panzah in and consider this as part of a larger discussion, namely, how we operate as a team.
I went with a wand of invisibility. I figure that gives us access to a second-level spell I can cast without problem (I believe) that can be useful for all of us.
@Jacinthe: I kind of like flavor, so I don't mind the loss of 3k. I thought about getting Glamoured armor as well. None of the lesser meta rods really spoke to me.
I don't know if I'll be rushing in to fight. I might do more damage just channeling energy at the enemies.
Agreed, Monsanto, this is a flavorful group. It looks like Panzah and Jacinthe (and Kiru) will be the front line melee-ers (odd, since we're all limited in armor choices, but hey, flavor), Ignis in the middle somewhere letting arrows fly, and you and Caspan slinging spells. Funky.
Maybe Zachman would allow you to spend the extra 3k on a Reach Rod; you'd have that left and could play Band-Aid at a distance with your healing spells. That being said, I picked up healing potions.
Caspan--Blindness/Deafness is such an evil spell. Like Glitterdust, but permanent! Fitting.

Sorry didn't see this until I typed it up in the gameplay thread. But yes it is still the middle of the night.
Hey, Zachman, PCGen messed up my Eidolon HP and evolutions (I got 4 points instead of 5 as it wasn't counting free evolutions as free---weird); I'm changing them accordingly and swapping Pounce for Trip to get to 5 points, and HP will go up to 15 + Con. Lemme know if there are any issues with that!
