Help to choose divine spells

Advice

Hi guys!
With my friends we are playing a pathfinder campaign. I am the inquisitor of the group: my first idea of character-stryle was a two-handed weapon inquisitor and, thanks to judgements and the bane power, be a damage dealer. But because we have already a two-handed damage dealer (a bloodrager: half barbarian half sorcerer) I changed the style to a sword+shield and be the tank. (because the other players are an arcanist, a rouge, an alchemist and a investigator: half rouge - half alchemist o.O).
Because of homemade races, the master gave to me the race power to choose 3 divine spells of ANY divine class of ANY level, and be my spell like abilities, and I will be able to cast them (of course, I will be never able to cast more than 6th lv spell still).

Because this is my first experience of divine class full spellcaster (which I mean who has spells from lv 1) I have almost no idea about which spell should I choose! There are so many!

Any suggestion from you guys?

PS: we use the rule that transform the AC bonus from the armor into damage reduction: so the AC is quite low and powers which raise AC by 1 or 2 points could be not very effective (I think)

Thank you and happy RPG!

Any spell of any level? O.O

If you told us the flavour of the race (or the god you're an inquisitor from) we could give more detailed advice. But as a general thing:

Bless is always a good thing to share with allys.

Shield other would encourage those squishy rouges to get in there front row, where they can do most harm.

And if your GM is up for it (and it seems he's leaving you quite a bit of giggle room), I once gave one player (a paladin, not that it matters) the ability to request a miracle, at any point during her character's live, but only once. It's a very powerful abiltiy, but balanced by the tension of wether you'll need it later on. It created a very dramatic moment when it was finally used.

Just food for thought.

Any spell of any level from a divine list is really abusable. Just pick a few 9th level cleric spells.

Some stuff that would be more reasonable:

  • Protections from (Pick an Alignment), possibly the communal versions
  • Resist Energy (Or Protection From Energy)
  • Summon Monster (Maybe have it scale up as you level)
  • Compel Hostility

unfortunately, it's not possible to pick 9th level! XD
For example: if I pick a 4th lv spell from druid, I will be able to cast that when the inquisitor will be able to cast 4th level spells (so something like 10th class level) and inquisitor spells reach till 6th level.

"Little background: the master gave us the possibility to create our personal races. But only the description! He . So yeah, I have this cool thing, but right now I am at lv 4 (with a permanent negative level D:) and I can't use this feat properly (I asked to give me some time to think about them).
And I am "vurnerable to resurrection": it means that both positive and negative energy damage me: I can be healed only by my spells and by party's healing spells (to give me the chance to survive)."

So yeah: my intention is to be a tank. So have support spells. But maybe is better to complete the party with the spells which aren't in the arcane class lists.
Protections and shield on others I think that both alchemist and arcanist are able to pick them..

Ah, spell like abilities do not typically require the ability to otherwise cast spells of that level, so that's an important clarification. Will it also use your inquisitor spells/day or will they work like standard SLAs in that regard and have their own pool of uses?

Do you know if your Alchemist or Investigator has or is planning to take the Infusion discovery? That will have a significant impact on what your party in general has access to.

If AC is your game then Ironskin is great... but in general a brilliant spell at a reasonable level is Greater Forbid Action and Explosion of Rot is an excellent lowish blasting spell

From what you're saying, I get the impression you're not really geting spell-like abilities (the capacity to cast the spell as an innate power X times a day), but that you can choose some spells, and add them to your spell list as an inquisitor (meaning, you can prepare them and cast them with your spell slots). Is that so?

If so, our answers will probably vary a lot.

False Life is Shaman 2.
False Life, Greater is Shaman 4.

Useful for buffering your health.

Other useful high level Shaman spells:
6th:
Banishment
Cone of Cold
Dispel Magic, Greater
Planar Ally
Raise Dead
Summon Nature's Ally VI

5th:
Baleful Polymorph
Break Enchantment
Breath of Life
Call Lightning Storm
Commune
Commune with Nature
Curse, Major
Overland Flight
Stoneskin
Summon Nature's Ally V
True Seeing

4th:
Dismissal
Divination
Divine Power
Ice Storm
Imbue with Spell Ability
Magic Weapon, Greater
Neutralize Poison
Persistent Vigor
Restoration
Summon Nature's Ally IV

I am sure there are many more. Just remember, SLAs don't have material components, so some spells listed above could be quite GP friendly.
[Raise Dead and Restoration come to mind.]
