Mythic Guilford |
Guilford steps back away from the akata, avoiding the eyes of the new creature.
Avert gaze: 1d100 ⇒ 31 No save this time!
He casts a prepared magic missile, sending 3 bolts of force at the creature.

He tries to ID the new thing.

GM Sior |
Ryster pushes through the visage of the new creature as he spins and blows a hole in the akata's leg, nearly severing it as the beast falls down.
Guilford then takes the opportunity to throw some magical energy at the creature he is unable to identify. (It is Know (planes), but still unknown)
The piles of bones rattle and shake before each forms into its own skeleton! Quickly looking about, they converge to attack you as trespassers! With Elena being closest, they converge on her.

Only one manages to hit, and thankfully it is with a broken sword.
As Ouroboreia and Elena shield their eyes from the beast, Roland looks directly at it. The ferocity held in the creature's eyes penetrate his mind and rip it to shreds!
Ouch?: 5d4 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 3, 1) = 12 slashing damage
Ouroboreia, Elena, and Roland are up.
GM Sior |
Almost forgot! Once the hound appeared, Roland's readied action goes off and he can shoot the damned thing!

Ouroboreia studies the newly appeared creature carefully before acting.

I'd like to know about: DR, SR, resistances, special attacks, senses (in that order), please.

Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Elena will activate her judgement (choose healing) and then smash her morning star into the skeleton se of her and then take a 5ft step back.

GM Sior |
Ouroboreia recognizes it as a lesser form of a hound of tindalos. It has DR/magic and no SR.
Elena smashes the skeleton into dust!
Ouroboreia and Roland
Roland Garros |
Roland will 5' step (SW) and launch a pair of arrows at the beast.
"Zhat sounds like from zhe Wound-rift, no? . "
assuming evil outsider. Also, his arrows do 2d6 for gravity bow...we missed that on readied shot, but I included here.

Mythic Ouroboreia |
Ouroboreia summons from the upper planes a pair of celestial wolves to flank the hound of Tindalos.
Summon Monster III cast as a swift action (thanks to Speedy Summons, expending 1 Mythic Power), summoning 1d3+1 (thanks to Superior Summoning) Augmented Celestial Wolves (thanks to Augment Summoning/Summon Good Monster).

Then Ouroboreia casts haste to empower both wolves, Roland, Elena and Guilford. (sorry Ryster, you're too far)

With a flurry of fur and fang, the hound falls bloodied and mauled.
Guilford and Ryster are up!
Ryster Demarkarios |
Ryster moves up, deciding to save ammuntion, drops his musket, draws his flail along the way and swing at the skelton near Elena.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

The skeleton's ribcage soars across the room and shatters against the far wall from the impact of Ryster's flail!
Guilford!

Then Ouroboreia will use her trusted wand on the southern skeleton, imitating Guiford.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
GM Sior |
After a swing and a miss from Elena, the wolves follow their instincts and lay waste to the skeletons before Ouroboreia can call upon her magic!
Out of combat
With the creatures put down, you are able to explore the rest of this room. The far side, however, seems to have been collapsed by a recent cave-in. How will you continue your chase?
Skill time!
be extracted with ease. The akata’s stomach has destroyed most of the contents, but several parts of a journal are still intact and legible. The entries include poetry and music as well as mundane day-to-day observations. The last several pages record complaints about the Aspis Consortium’s lack of appreciation for the author's accomplishments. A folded sheet of paper wedged in the journal bears the title “Potential Partners” and names the Pathfinder Society among other well-known organizations.
Also, among the skeletons and remains, you find a +1 mythic bane dagger, a vial containing one handful of dust of disjunction (Basically a dust of dispel magic, with a funny reaction to golems), and a sheet of beaten gold. The sheet bears an inscription in Aklo.

Guilford peers into the mouth of one of the fallen akatas and points to a leather strap. He carefully remove sit without getting the foul saliva on his hands.
"Look here, there's a pouch on the end of this!" He examines the contents and shares his findings with the team. Please red above spoiler.
"I cannot read the writing on this golden sheet. I can cast a spell to do so, but if one of you can read it, I'll save my magic for later."
Not sure how my pearl of power works, exactly. Can I use it now to recall my magic missile? Do I have to designate the spell in advance?
Elena Rasputin |
You pick one you have already cast (of the correct lvl) at the time you use the pearl to get that spell back..so if you cast a magic missile you can use the pearl to get it back now..or you can wait till later and then decide to get either a magic missile back, or another spell you have cast by then
Elena takes a careful look around (take 10 for 10+17=27 on both perception checks)
(seems you can do survival untrained..so Survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

"I can read it, Guilford. It describes a ritual that can be performed to the open sky to channel the power of the stars." It restores mythic power.
"I am ready to continue when you are."
GM Sior |
At this point, you have three options:
1) Figure where you are underground and try to find another entrance. (No skill checks, takes time.)
2) Clear the rock slide to follow your quarry. (No skill checks, less time.)
3) Get yourselves through the cracked floor. (Skill checks, hardly any time.)
Ryster Demarkarios |
Ryster checks the crack for a way in.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
KN: engineering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
GM Sior |
It seems the only way through the cracks is either to reduce yourselves to a diminutive size or gaseous state. Similarly, you could always bust through it like an archaeologist in a library.
Mythic Ouroboreia |
"I believe I have the solution. Prepare knotted ropes before I cast my spell."
Ouroboreia casts a create pit spell to open a breach in the ground, hopefully allowing people to pass through. With prepared knotted ropes, the Pathfinders may be able to go down.
Elena Rasputin |
Even though that sounds awesome.. that's not how create pit works..it goes to an extra dimensional space..that's why you can also create a pit in a ship's hull without sinking the ship ..unless something Mythical changed that ..off course if the GM will allow it 'cause it cool..not going to argue ;)
Mythic Ouroboreia |
You're absolutely right, thanks for pointing that out. Well, unless the GM allows it, we'll have to resort to more basic tactics. Anyone's got a sledgehammer?
Roland Garros |
Awe that sounded like the best use of a pit ever. Are we sure we cannot go to extra dimension and climb out on other side?.
GM Sior |
Points for creativity, but as Elena points out, that's not how it works.
Mythic Ouroboreia |
Fair enough. You mentioned skill checks, what checks could we make? Escape Artist? Knowledge (Engineering)?
GM Sior |
Indeed I did. Str or Damage to get through the floor. Depending on the depth of the room beyond, Climb or Acrobatics to get down, but we'll cross that when we get there.
Elena Rasputin |
"Well it seems no one of us is tiny enough to fit through these cracks, so we either make them bigger..or we move that pile of rubble."
damage to the floor, going to assume hitting it near a crack will work: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Elena will swing her morning star at one of the cracks and evaluate the damage she did (if any) if it's not significant she will vote for moving the rubble.
GM Sior |
Ouroboreia makes a loud noise but no progress in the stone floor.

Roland Garros |
Unless there are better options, Roland will set down his bow and get out a vial of weapon Blanche adamantine to apply to his Greatsword.
"Zhis might help do zhe trick. "
GM Sior |
Keep in mind the blanch will only last one hit.
