My name is Rohan Drake and this is my Partner Copperscale. I am a Prospective Tank. It is my Job to keep my friends alive with my own life if needs be. I will let my Healer down only in death. These are my friends and I will sacrifice my life for theirs. If I do not then my companion will be stripped from me and eaten by his chromatic kin. I will be forced to watch as he is slain and my soul is turned to ash and my existence is no more.

Hello! We are still discussing some things in the short list thread so I hope that is ok. I just have to figure out how our characters have known each other for six months I should have my pm ready.

Its been a long while since Talon has felt a sense of family, of truly belonging, of the bonds where you look out for each other. He would do anything to get genuinely those feelings back again. There have been a few that have tried to tempt him with allegiances - these have been false or with ill motives, and he was quickly able to see through their webs of lies. But he is not deterred. His guard is up, but stronger is his remembrance of the family he once knew. He is looking for the right time and place and circumstance to happen upon a group that shares his sense of adventure but also his values.

But what could he offer?

Years of untying knots and working with the intricacies of rigging and sails have made his hands and senses especially capable. While shut out of the finer rooms of the home once his father passed he quickly took up and excelled at the art of picking the locks and sneaking through the house at night to explore and get at the fresh fruit and books that were off limits to him, or to be able to listen in to what his half brothers or step father had in store for him. It was these stealthy activities that became his play.

His keen reflexes and his ability to observe, to see what others failed to or were unable to notice have kept him out of trouble for some time now. And while not the mainstay of his sustenance, he has increasingly been called upon to run special errands for folks about town. A lock with a lost key, a misplaced item left at someone’s house that happened to be on a voyage …

Talon’s contributions to the party are that he can see hear and act, often before others. His reflexes and quickness can mean the difference between life and death for him and those he travels with. His knack for getting into and out of places or compartments means that there is nowhere that his party can’t go, no secret they can’t uncover, no trap that they can’t avoid.

I swear to always seek to bring back any fallen comrades and to treat these people as my lost family. If I do not fulfill this vow, then shall the Witches of Snow and Ice freeze my heart and swallow my soul to Oblivion.

Female Human Bard 1

I suppose since everyone is doing it.

My name is Esmeralda Klimo. I am a prospective arcane junkie. It is her wish to protect her friends and home from evil and uncover lost secrets of arcane knowledge. With this knowledge she will protect Sandpoint, those she consider kin, and those friends she grow fonder of every single day as their adventure continues. She will use her vast knowledge of untold subjects and magical insight to increase the strength of her friends.

Male Would appear to be Human in his late 60's but in good shape & good health "Is this thing recording?"

As you can all now see there is a method to my madness. I gave out the vows as a way for you to kind of see how I expect your character to act in accordance to each other in a party.

I do expect the vows to be followed for obvious reasons.

This Thread is now open for all of you to post at your whim. This is completely OOC Thread so anything that does not violate board policy is fine here.

MY RULE

Be kind to each other.

It's my only rule. If you break it....well I don't like threats much anymore so I am asking politely :D

At the very worst I will eject you from the AP. Please don't do this. I hate being the bad guy like that. I can play evil NPCs all day long, but don't make the DM be mean...makes him sad :(

This is a game about fantastic things in a fantastic world. If this isn't fun why are you here? If you aren't enjoying the game, Why? Don't stay in a game or in a place that you do not feel comfortable, but most of all don't play games when you aren't having fun. Let's think just a little like kids again, and less like selfish adults :)

One last thing. "It's lonely at the top, that's why I hang out with all my friends at the bottom. Mediocrity is doing a great thing poorly. True greatness lies in doing your least favorite thing with the same pride and joy as you would the most important thing." If you can remember any one of those for me as you play this game...I sure you will go far.

Anyways I open the floor for you all to tell me how you fit together. Please begin and stay open to new ideas and perspectives. Good Luck! Have Fun!

Sincerely,
Rysil

These people are my friends and I will give them the Strength of my goddess always or suffer her eternal wrath as she casts me to be Lamashtu's plaything.

Hum... Six months, and ties to the main NPCs? Would this be all the main NPCs, not just Ameiko and Balor, but the mayor and the cleric as well?

Seems I have more writing to do.

No and if I somehow implied that, I apologize. I meant only that if you mention ties to an NPC that you make those ties clear. The six month ties are only for you and the others to figure out.

I should tell you that your DM is old. He forgets and makes errors. Please be patient with me and I also will be patient with you.

Round Two: Hey all, I'm probably just going to keep reposing this in a spoiler with all of my updates. Feel free to check it out to get my perspective on intra-party relations, as I would like to do the same to continue to hone my story, eventually converging them into one tale for all of us.

The Story of (Insert party name) - Each of you will come up with or agree upon a title for the party.

The Party:

*-DD Specialist - Talon Eldercourt
-I see Adrien and Talon meeting in the bar, and exchanging small talk in the bar.
-Initially, I see the two being linked together by the other party members, and eventually growing a strong relationship.
*-Arcane Specialist - Esmeralda Klimo
-Adrien as of yet does not know much of Esmaralda yet. I'm sure that he's noticed her in the bar. Adrien would likely invite her to sit for drinks or for a chat. He would have a blast listening to her tell stories, and would try to exchange a few with her as well.
*-Follower of Desna - Zelaria Quiatris
-Zelaria and Adrien, while very different I believe these two might possibly hit it off as good friends quickly.
1. She seems to be assertive in her abilities, which Adrien likes.
2. She strong ties to religion and and affinity for divine magic, which Adrien is intrigued by. He will seek to find common ground here.
3. Zelaria seems to be appreciative of Adrien's manners.
-I like the introduction that we've already had, and I think that Adrien would enjoy her and Rohan as his initial social circle.
*-5th slot- Rohan Drake
-Rohan, what can I say. Adrien feels as though he's earned Rohan's respect, and feels that in this way he's formed a bond of trust. I think that these two will end up mixing words often, but ultimately be a very powerful combination on the battle field, being able to simultaneously shut down two sides of the battle field.
-Adrien would continue to spend time at the Rusty tavern with Rohan and Zelaria.
*-Rhasadilara and Noro, I'd like to learn more about your characters and their habits. Maybe you could tie them into some of the circumstances you've seen the rest of us in, and I could begin imagining how we would interact.
*- As a party, I see our common thread here being the Rusty Dragon. I think that we could easily use what we've got to establish basic friendships, and eventually use an event which happens in relation to the tavern to pull us all together. Ideas here? My thinking cap isn't working well for this one.

Ties to Major NPCs:
Adrien has two actual ties in the city. The first would be with Mayor Kendra Deverin. The afternoon of his first day in town, Adrien requested an audience with her, to deliver his charge from the capital. While he would use his diplomatic abilities to build a strong relationship with her, he would have no problem if she was uninterested in entertaining him for very long, as he would be more interested in working well with Belor Hemlock.
The last thing that Adrien wants to do is step on the feet of the local Sherrif, Belor Hemlock. He would be very respectful of his post, offering his aid in whatever way possible and avoiding getting in his way at all costs. Adrien would try hard to soften the fact that he is under a different chain of command, and would definitely want his image to be that of "the help" rather than being seen as an undermining of authority.

I don't want to get much more specific without some feedback on how these two would respond to my presence initially

The I in Team:

How he fits: Adrien naturally takes the safety of his team very seriously. This is tied to his innate desire to help those who would be in need, as well as his training as a body guard. He does not fear putting his body on the line in order to ensure the safety of his companions. He also has a natural affinity for leadership and diplomacy, and is a fantastic extemporaneous speaker. These skills he has learned from his family, and most recently from his Mentor, Archbanker Darb Tuttle. In layman's terms, Adrien would be best used as a tank, and sees himself as fulfilling that roll. He also would be a good choice to serve as diplomat, as he is trained in etiquette, and understands how to speak with those is positions of power, while still retaining a strong, street-savvy ability, which he obtained in his youth.

I'm sure this will all be updated, but that's what i've got for now!

Rysil, could you take a look at my "ties to major NPC's", and give me some feedback as to how these two would respond to my directives and personality?

My name is Esméralda Klimo. I am a potential arcane specialist. These are my friends. I will defend and aid them both with my knowledge and my arcane power. I will seek to aid them even in death if my life is so required. To fail my friends is to die a cowards death unknown and unsung.

My Turn!

The Party:

Talon Eldercourt: Well, he's a dockworker so their paths cross whenever the Orca in in town. And he spends time with the Rusty Dragon as well. Plus if they both find out about the other's exile, they could bond through that.

Esmeralda: As I said in the short-list thread, the Orca has docked in Sandpoint multiple times over the last 6 months, so visiting the Rusty Dragon would make sense. Rohan and Copperscale become fast friends with their favorite waitress.

Zelaria: The Orca's cook and resident female. A very important job with Copper around.

Adrien: The man has earned Rohan's respect. At the same time, Rohan is waiting for his rematch. A friendly rivalry of sorts.

Rhasadilara: That ship she stowed away on could be the Orca. Copper, Rohan, and Zelaria could convince the captain to keep her aboard as another shipmate.

Noro: I don't really know actually. Any ideas?

Ties to Major NPCs:

The only tie I could see would be Ameiko. Being a cook can garner Copper's loyalty easy enough. And Rohan has a habit of developing crushes on pretty women easily. Having a little golden wyrmling encouraging him constantly to talk to women hasn't actually helped at all. So through some goading, he started talking to Ameiko over the few months.

The I in Team:

Despite his introverted nature, he is loyal through and through. You hurt his friends, he hurts you. Granted this means, he does suffer from a bit of recklessness. But his friends being safe comes first. And in the case of Adrien, if he dies, Rohan will never get his rematch.

I kid, kinda.

In short, being a sailor is awesome! Nice avatar, Zelaria.

Reading a bit on what has already transpired Noro spent much of her time in two places (which is addressed in the back story) the docks and the Rusty Dragon.

I will need to look more at each other character for more details.

being a late comer it would appear than som may not even realize I am in the mix but than can be remedied soon enough.

Noro usually is at the Rusty Dragon when she needs to talk to her brother who works there (the only friendly connection left in her "biological" family. or when she is looking for a meal. she also spend alot of personal time or her meditation time at the docks taking in the sea breeze and watch the ships. trying to avoid those that want her for other things (read the back story for details).

also Noro would have been among the crowd watching the "friendly" boxing match in town, examining every move and every swing, almost reverting back to her recent past eyeing each fighter as the next contestant she would have to face. With each swing seeing openings for counter attack discovering that without wepons in their hands the two combatants are sorely lacking.

Noro has lived her entire life in the Sandpoint area she has been disowned by her father and now only calls the Feedbag her home and sometimes the Rusty Dragon if only for her brother whom she looks up to and besides He really like Amieko.

This is a good exercise. Here is my first pass.

The Party:

Rohan: Agreed. Rhasadilara could have stowed away on the Orca. How is Copper with animals? Could have found Kobo, Rhasa's fox familiar, and got along famously. Zelaria, being the cook would also be likely to discover Rhasa, since she was hiding in the stores. Zelaria, Copper and Rohan could have convinced convince the Captain not to throw her into the water. The only issue was Rhasa being unceremoniusly dumped on the docks without guidance (I don't see her crewing a ship). Perhaps this particular stop at Sandpoint was not intended (and was only done to get Rhasa off the ship) and so there was no time for the niceties during landfall.
With Rhasa now working at the Rusty Dragon, it means they would likely cross paths again and Rhasa would remember Rohan and Zelaria's kindness on the ship (and perhaps Kobo could remember his playmate Copper).
I also notice the part about Rohan's exile. Something that he and Rhasa have in common should the topic have come up.

Noro: It could have been Noro's brother Lou who had found Rhasadilara on the steps of the Rusty Dragon. Mistaking her for a street urchin, he tried to shoo her away but Ameiko intervened. Now Rhasa works at the inn, waiting tables by day and helping Lou in the kitchen in the evenings becoming friends/family with him and eventually with Noro.

Adrien: As you mentioned, the Rusty Dragon seems to be a recurring theme, so Adrien and Rhasadilara would likely have crossed paths there since Rhasa works there and Adrien may be a regular patron.

Zelaria: If we go with Rhasadilara stowing away on the Orca, Zelaria would have been the one most likely to have discovered her (as mentioned under Rohan) and helped convince the Captain not to punish her. If Zelaria, like Rohan, frequent the Dragon while in Sandpoint, their paths could cross again and Rhasa would never forget the kindness Zelaria and Rohan showed her on the ship.

Esmerelda: It looks like Esmerelda and Rhasadilara both work and live at the Rusty Dragon. Esme could have taken Rhasa under her wing much like Ameiko had for her. Something of a big sister role, perhaps.

Talon: Being a regular patron of the Rusty Dragon makes it likely for Talon and Rhasadilara to have crossed paths (particularly when Ameiko happens to be absent and not being the focus of all of his attention).
Like Rohan, Talon and Rhasa have being exiled in common and could be somthing to pull them together.

All: Any weaker ties can be bolstered through the stronger ties with those she is close with. Any who are friends of her new family/friends, she would consider friends of hers.

Ties to major NPCs:

Ameiko: Ameiko took Rhasadilara in when she was found crying on the doorstep of the Rusty Dragon. Now Rhasa hapily works odd jobs (waiting tables, cleaning, etc.) to help repay Ameiko's kindness and generosity.

The I in Team:

Although shy, Rhasa has taken to her new family and friends at the Rusty Dragon. She would do anything for them, using what powers she had at her disposal, even giving her life if necessary.

The Party:

Adrien – like the idea or being introduced through the others (Rohan and Zelaria). Bonds: Shared faith – Abadar. Outlook on life, searching for a place in the world. Feeling like a bit of an outsider.
Rohan – met at the Rusty Tavern, relationship formed over many pints of ale. Would also see him at the docks as he came and went from the Orca. Bonds: Nautical history. Exile and experiences of being forced out of his home.
Esmerelda – met at the Rusty Dragon, sees her regularly. Late nights spent chatting with Ameiko, she could also be there. Bonds – attraction, loss of their parents.
Noro – met at the Rusty Dragon, got to know each other over many ales. Bonds: mixed race, understand some of the prejudices faced. Love of the drink. They both like to spar – she with her fists, he with his rapier.
Zelaria – sees her at the Rusty Dragon regularly. Also bumps into her frequently when she runs errands from the Orca on her way to get supplies for the galley. They have had many great conversations. Bonds – loss of their parents, attraction. She has been very kind to Talon, and he has warmed to the comforts of her presence.
Rhasadilara – introduced through Ameiko, sees her at the Rusty Dragon. Bonds: not sure here, could use some help/input from Rhasa.

Ties to Major NPCs:

Ameiko - For the past several weeks Talon has been getting by scrounging up whatever work he can, most often as a dockworker or deck hand. When he’s had the gold, and hasn’t drank it away, he’s been staying at the Rusty Dragon. Its there that he met Ameiko. What for her started as the standard barkeep’s duty to listen to her patron’s sad drunken tales has evolved into genuine interest, even concern. She can’t help noticing the similarities in the circumstances between Talon and her own brother … a questionable birthright and ostracization from his family. Talon, however, seems to have it even worse. Many times, after she has closed down the tavern, they talked into the early hours of the morning. Perhaps she can help Talon where she couldn’t help her brother. Perhaps this is a second chance. His plight tugs at her instincts to protect and she can’t help but be drawn to his story.

Cydrak Drokkus – Originally hailing from Magnimar, where Talon is from, where he snuck in several times to the theater to see him perform. Originally as a boy Talon’s father introduced him to the arts and he has had a fascination with them for many years. Talon has had a few conversations with him at the Hagfish tavern. Their bond is not great, but they would readily recognize each other. Curiously, Cydrak did not respond at all the way Talon expected when he talked of them both coming from Magnimar, and Cydrak quickly changed the subject. Talon is fascinated by him and finds him very amusing – where he finds his comfort often in the shadows, Cydrak love being out in the open, in the limelight.

The I in Team:

Its been a long while since Talon has felt a sense of family, of truly belonging, of the bonds where you look out for each other. He would do anything to get genuinely those feelings back again. His knack for getting into and out of places or compartments means that there is nowhere that his party can’t go, no secret they can’t uncover, no trap that they can’t avoid.

Specifically – danger avoidance and resolution - he will be their eyes and ears, detecting and disarming traps, unlocking doors and chests, sneaking into or out of all manners of situations, acting first, being able to set the other members of the party to leverage their talents

I looked over your whole submission and I am very happy with all of it. Your ties to the Sheriff and the Mayor put you in a very good position to liaise between the party and the local government officials. Your Ties to Zeleria and Drake also place you in a good position to get to know others through you ties with them. So far you are doing good as the best candidate for party leader, but now you just have to convince them.

From now on when I enter this thread I want to hear every single one of you shout "RYSIL!" (Ala "Norm!" from cheers if you are old enough)

LOL I have ben reading all morning and laughing my butt off at the fact that we have the Sandpoint version of Cheers. I can even list all of you.

Sam - Adrien
Diane - Zelaria
Woody - Drake
Carla - Noro
Cliff - Talon
Norm - Mine I tell you MINE!!
Fraiser - Witchie poo (Sorry you name hurts my Lysdexia)
(I would do coach, but I doubt any of you even remember coach)

I love you guys. I wanted to close early anyways, but turn to the person on your left and congradulate them for being in the game. I made a decision yesterday that whoever had there stuff together a day early would be the ones who made it to the final cut. Well I ma add one or two more, but this is your party folks.

I am going to open the game thread. The very first quasi prequel scene opener will be in the Rusty Dragon. I know some of you have likely run the opening bit a few times. so my version is slightly skewed. You will understand later, but just a fair warning. I change up what is in the AP slightly to suit you and me, and also to keep people who read ahead in the AP on their toes. Good luck to you all and Congratulations for being on time, and willing to show you want to play.

Oh and this does not mean that those of you who have not posted round two requirements are free and clear.

You must still post as requested. I will repost the requirements here so that they are easier to reference.

Round two Selection rules.

The Story of (Insert party name) - Each of you will come up with or agree upon a title for the party.

The Party - You are a party of Sandpoint Residents, Migrant popualtion (Sailors, Merchants, Mercenaries), or arriving heroes who form a bond of friendship akin to what some of us remember either having or wanting in High School. You are not strangers. You know each other as friends or have known each other as a close knit group of friends for at least 6 months or more prior to the celebration of the new cathedral in Sandpoint. This goes for ALL those invited.

Ties to Major NPCs - Some of you have already included these in your backstory. I am not opposed to PC's sharing the same tribe or even living and working for Belor or Amieko. This gives me reasons to have established relationships to the PCs with my NPCs from the gate. My biggest concern is that these ties make sense and that I am not still guessing how who knows who is related to what one of my NPCs like Belor or Amieko will say or do next. So if you have intricate ties to multiple NPC's and to PC's make them clear. So clear I am not guessing. Otherwise say you know of them, but other than that you are just another face. This will help me and you. Remember as a DM I have a lot to manage. Please don't make my job harder.

The "I" in "Team" - Each of you will post how (Alias) would fit with this particular party and why they would even want to. Keep in mind that the idea or theme is that all of you invited to the discussion are trying to establish a PRE-existing group of friends who bond together as a team and then an adventuring party as the AP progresses. In party conflict is fun and can be entertaining. Mean, spiteful, or even arrogant showmanship type of behaviors (IC or not) will be warned once and ejected on the next. I do not tolerate people who want to play a group activity as if they are the only one who matters. I simply will not allow that kind of disrespect to me or my players. Please respect this and I can pretty much assure you of an enjoyable role play.

LOL, sorry 'bout that. Picked a long elven first name. Try on Rhasa (pronounced Raza) for short. I already started slipping it into the narratives. Or maybe go with Lara from the last part of the name. I'm not beholden to it either way.

First … talk about a crazy idea I have started to pile together everyone’s background and what I have seen posted in the other thread to try and make one cohesive story (a mini novella so to speak) I almost forgot to post the required info here.

the party:

Rohan Drake: Noro spends a lot of time at the docks and has become friends and or acquaintances with several of the local dock workers Noro would have been a bit curious on the companion he travels with. After the friendly bout detailed in the short list thread Noro would have wanted to get to know the pair better especially she would have an appreciation of is potential fighting skill. The thought of making him her first student should she decide to become a martial combat teacher (the best way she can fathom to regain her fathers respect).

Esmeralda: Noro likes her she is the closest to her personality she has seen in a long time. Noro would be constantly trying to get Esmeralda to tech her how to hunt. But Noro never could get the hang of patience. Besides she would rather punch things and Noro’s “anger issues” would get the way. Esmeralda knew just how to push Noro’s buttons to get her fiery mad. Noro frequently would use Esmeralda as an excuse to get away from the docks and the arranged fights she had to participate in.

Talon: Noro has taken a shine to him. She may never admit it as she never really learned how to be a lady. When talon showed an interest in Amieko Noro stepped up her game since she wanted to keep Amieko free for her brother. Noro would find what time she could to try and keep Talon occupied with her over Amieko (many times to no avail).

Adrien: to Noro Adrien is another friendly face but after the little boxing match Noro would definitely want to get in the ring with him. However she is afraid he would be too much of a gentleman to hit a girl. Noro would at time “egg” him on to get a chance to spar with him (besides it would be a chance to show off for Talon.

Rhasa: first sorry about the truncation of the name easier to type. second I agree with what was already posted seems the best course: “It could have been Noro's brother Lou who had found Rhasadilara on the steps of the Rusty Dragon. Mistaking her for a street urchin, he tried to shoo her away but Ameiko intervened. Now Rhasa works at the inn, waiting tables by day and helping Lou in the kitchen in the evenings becoming friends/family with him and eventually with Noro.”

ties to NPC’s:

Pretty much covered in the back story Noro is a Sandpoint native (appears more so than the rest of the group) Amieko is friends with her through Noro’s brother, and she definitely is acquainted with the sheriff in an Andy Griffith sort of way. He knew Noro was a good kid but had a knack for getting in trouble. Besides he would have been an acquaintance of Noro’s father.

the I in team:

To quote a rather popular superhero “Noro has red in her ledger” and she want to wipe it clean. She want to finally have a family that respects her and does not try and control her. The only member of her family that she has connection with at present is Lou her brother.

Anyway even though she would never admit it in public she would follow Talon anywhere. He is her Errol Flynn.

Noro is fighter and speaks her mind when it suits her she is not one for diplomacy but if you need some heads bonked she’s your girl. Need some intimidating than call on Noro, if you need a girl in fancy dress find someone else.

Ah yes, the warmth of a tavern in the evening...a mug of good....apple cider >.>...RYSIL!! Where everybody knows your name :D

Might be a good time to introduce you all to an NPC you do not know yet in Sandpoint.

Bale Morgaise:
~ Bale is an older gentleman in say his mid to late 60's. He is always wearing what he calls "Mage Armor". It seems to be a mix of a very thin, ultra-light, padded armor underneath with a half robe and leather pants. It does look quite comfortable, but with all the different pieces you wonder how this man gets dressed in less than a few hours. His colors of Dress always range from deep greens to blues to purples. He wears a neatly trimmed short full beard. His snow white hair is down past his shoulders and has thinned to a fine widows peak perfectly in the middle of his forehead, almost unnaturally so. His almost silver grey irises seem to dance and sparkle when he speaks of the past like an old historian, or maybe someone who lived it even. You have no idea his real age but he does seem to move slow, as old bones settle and ache. The most interesting piece of his attire is the gnarled old Maple Staff he never goes anywhere without. Everyone he meets is asked to speak into the staff, at a whisper, and tell it a secret. Every time someone tells the Whispering Staff a secret a new and original rune appears on the shaft. There are so many runes on the staff by now that it holds a slightly blackened and dimpled look as the tiny runes crowd each other for space. At his hip is the ivory and silver hilt & Scabbard, peace-bonded with mithril wire, of what appears to be an exotic sword he calls "Mo'ahndia". He refuses to draw the sword saying only "She would not like it if I touched her in that way", and nothing more. His wisdom is always sound, his advice somewhat cryptic, and his pockets are never empty. Every conversation ends with "Be well, my friend." and a smile, a hug, a kiss, or a handshake.

The Story of the Rusty Dragon Regulars
The Story of the Sandpoint Alliance
... that's the best I can come up with right now.

Compiled thus far:
The Story of the Varisian Valiants
The Story of the Rusty Dragon Regulars (alliance, warriors)
The Story of the Sandpoint Alliance
The Story of the Dragon Warriors
The Story of the Dragonforce

Female Human Bard 1

The Party:
Adrien – would have met at the Rusty Dragon by either serving drinks or by starting to tell one of her stories and asking for a few in return. Would be very curious about his "investigation" and would try to find out more about it.
Rohan – met at the Rusty Dragon. Is their frequent waitress and is quite the fan of Copper. Would mostly likely give him extra food because he is so cute.
Talon – met at the Rusty Dragon, sees him quite often. She is often around when he is chatting Ameiko about his past. She is attracted to him and would like to get closer but hides this because she knows another cares for him too. Understands what it is like to lose family.
Noro – Met in Sandpoint. Is one of her closest friends due to their similar personality and love for adventure. Has quite the bit of fun teasing her friend. Knows her brother quite well and tries to help him to get close to Ameiko for Noro.
Zelaria – sees her whenever she comes with the rest of the sailor crew. Enjoys teasing her to strike a conversation and is interested in learning more about her "haunted" condition. Would likely take notes whenever anything happened with her ghosts. Perhaps shared a childhood together as Varisians?
Rhasadilara – another child Amekio rescued so are very close. Tends to view her as a little sister and a another seeker of arcane knowledge.

Ties to Major NPCs:
Eseme would have traveled between houses in Sandpoint for a few years. Many families could have wanted a chance of raising her until she finally settled with Ameiko. She is the older sister she never had and would give her life for her and the Rusty Dragon. She knows a bit more then the average villager about Ameiko's past but never asks for more unless her friend and sister wishes to share. Enjoys playing a song or two at Cyrdak Drokkus theater a few times but prefers giving performances at the Rusty Dragon.

The I in Team:
Esme does not care much for herself and can be quite rash when it comes to her own safety. She protects those she cares about with fists or magic. Whatever is required of her. Her greatest devotion is towards Ameiko and the Rusty Dragon but shows great friendship and caring for all the villagers and friends she have made over time. She would gladly give her life if she could protect even one friend. Instead of taking care of herself she often puts friends first such as hiding her feelings for Talon to allow Noro a chance.

Party Name:
I think it should have something that goes with the Rusty Dragon since we are all connected to it in some way. Maybe the Dragon Warriors or Dragonforce? XP

Adrien would would play the gentlemen card a few times. I could see him giving in if she pushed really hard, but he wouldn't box her. He would turn it into something more like a wrestling match, where he could then try to turn it into a training routine. He would also agree to an arm wrestle for fun.

Male Would appear to be Human in his late 60's but in good shape & good health "Is this thing recording?"

I am very very pleased with what i see as the core group that has formed so far. I know my character selection methods may seem odd and quirky for some, but hey....ever met some of the guys behind Elminster and Mordenkainen? Yes well...not exactly normal ok...so don't judge :P

Also, It's not my vote and this is not an impress the DM contest, but I want you all to also consider two things.

1.) I really like Dragon Warriors for a lot of reasons I won't go in to, but once again do NOT let that be the deciding vote unless it's the only way.

2.) I am not your Micro manage DM. If you GODmode some unnamed npcs have fun with it. Just realize that anything that is going against plot or I find is not good for the story or the group I will take back control of and you will likely get a warning. This next goes to PC's that take the Leadership feat.

Leadership Feat:
When I run a game for semi responsible adults I wait awhile before I approve the use of the Leadership feat. I want to see which of my players I can trust to ACT like a Leader. Then I give that person the freedom to take the Leadership feat if they request it at 7th level. I have done this silently for years. Very few know that I do this, but it's because of the power it gives.

Most people today look at the feat and see more work as they now have to manage a bunch of NPCs. What your DM sees is evil minions. This is like having a feat that lets you recruit replaceable lackies. Come on? Really? You mean as a level 7 you get a high powered butt boy or girl (Hey I am not racist...er something) who can be up to 2 levels lower for the price of a feat? Then I did the math on a Sorcerer at 8th level who is stacking Charisma. That's 12 minions folks. If he happens to be a Conjurer or a Necromancer specialist as well....do you see the headache this is for a DM?

I already have too many npc's and with a 20+ leadership score I do not have time to make all those extra npc's for one character. Just like most DM's we shun it and make it go away. But I tell people to wait and ask me again later. Then if they do here are the rules:Leadership.

Now my rules:

1.) First off You make the npc's according to the heroic NPC rules in the Core rules just like you would for any NPC. If you are bucking for this feat pick someone early that you are grooming as your trainee or sidekick. If you continuously keep putting this into the game you will end up creating basically a second NPC for yourself to run.

2.) Your lower level followers MUST BE PAID! While your Sidekick will stick it out just to learn from his/her Master, followers will not.

3.) To grow beyond Leadership score 9 you must Have a permanent Residence. Beyond 12 up to 14 you must have a permanent base that can house the number of followers allowed (2 per room in most multi-room locations, 10 per room in Dormitories (Must be at least 60'x30'). 15+ You must build an Organizational Headquarters that is separate from your Residence. Both your Residence and your Organizational Headquarters should cost no less than 750,000 gold Pieces in Value.

I feel that I have left enough padding into this system to restrain some power players and to also allow for those wanting to reach for it some serious Power (I once did this with a Fighter Sorcerer combo in a fellow DM's game and he said it was like having an old Samurai and his Student. So done right it can be great material. Done wrong and it will get you warned or ejected at worst.

GM Rysil:
Not sure exactly where we are in the Gameplay thread - are we still just mingling, setting up the scene for the offical start ... meaning I can hold off on running a perception check on the room/patrons, etc. Also - how are you about editing - meaning if I build off your handshake with the Sheriff and go back to add some dialogue or commentary?

Female Human Oracle (Heavens Mystery)/1

The Party:

Copper (Including him as a character): Zelaria sees Copper as much of an individual as Rohan. She enjoys his company, and finds him a fascinating insight to Rohan’s moods when the man himself does not care to entertain. She believes that by treating him fairly, and warmly, she will be able to coax Rohan a little more out of the shell that he places himself in.

Rohan: Zelaria sees Rohan as a surrogate brother of sorts, if she could ever bring herself to speak of them. He has defended her in the past from sailors who were too deep in their cups and pressing physical advantage, but he has never made her feel as though she is incapable of her exerting her own will and decisions.

Adrien: Zelaria perceives Adrien as the sort of ideal that she and her brothers had in mind when they played at knights with sticks beside the road. She wants terribly to believe that he is a force of good that will remain so, and if not wholly chivalrous than courteous to the end. It is a lot to assume for a man she barely knows (I imagine that they would speak together when in town and in the company of Rohan and Copper), but she rather needs to believe that good guys really exist.

Talon: Talon can be godsend for Zelaria, as her brothers are constantly playing tricks on her by hiding her items. Also, he will be a fun partner to practice her quick skills with, juggling, playing minor “magic” tricks or even picking pockets. Her skills come more from playing with the harrow deck than from any thieving activity, but it will be fun to play off that sort of skill set with a character.

Esmerelda: The Varisian people love a storyteller, and Zelaria is no exception. She will come to know Esmerelda through their mutual profession, bringing back new recipies and techniques between stops to keep Copper sated with his favorite dishes, and to improve on her repoitiore. Zelaria will be very excited to travel with a fellow member of her tribe, and the possibility of creating a new story with her to add to the history of their peoples.

Rhasadilara: Zelaria would never abandon a female in need, and she would hold a special part in her heart for Rhasadilara, even if the woman is over a century older than her. She would wonder how she came to stow away on the ship, but would not pry because her very own arrival in Sandpoint is so murky to herself. Zelaria will be the first to support Rhasadilara if it appear she needed it, but would not pry into her history unless invited.

Noro: Initially Zelaria would probably have a difficulty finding some manner of relating to Noro. Her calm temperament is rather… jarred by very violent reactions, considering the violence in her past, but she will try her hardest to find some manner of exercise they can work on together. Zelaria is a passable hunter, and fairly dexterous, so likely they could find some common ground over the process of feeding the party?

Ties to Major NPCs:

Interestingly enough, I think Zelaria's greatest tie to an NPC will be Sheriff Balor. I imagine him being called to Bjorn's household to investigate the happenings, and having pity for the young Zelaria. Perhaps he even has knowledge of how she came to be in Sandpoint? With contacts in the government he was able to place Zelaria in a situation where she could live, and in relative safety, and continue to have a home, even if it was not necessarily with Bjorn and Iolana.

The I in Team:

It will be Zelaria's first priority as a divine caster to ensure that her party is always healthy. This includes feeding them right, in her capacity as a cook, and encouraging them to exercise and spar to keep limber, as well as periodic examinations. In combat, she will cast buffs so that they can perform at their best, and deliver bonuses to AC where they are needed, and guidance as she sees fit. Any healing, however, will be post combat.

Zelaria will make herself available to hear dreams and concerns from the party, calling upon her relation to Desna to interpret the visions in a healthy and cooperative way, even if she is not necessarily "wise." Ultimately, she looks to assume the mantle that her elder was training her in as a child, as the wise woman and fortune teller of the group.

Party Name: Judean people's front!
Oh-kay, really. Balor's Irregulars?

I totally missed Zelaria in my write up, for that I humbly apologize.

Quite frankly the spirits that hount her freak Noro out a bit she does not like what she cannot see and the fact that they like to plau tricks make her even more nervous.
However despite that the foutune telling aspect she harbors is really intuiging and Noro is lookig for the right time and place to ask if she can ever fe free of the fighting she has to constantly pursue. or should she just resign to the lot she has been given.

Noro will definately see to it that no harm would befall the seer of the future she is intruiging to say the least.

Male Would appear to be Human in his late 60's but in good shape & good health "Is this thing recording?"

I ask the forgiveness of my players for a day or so. I am having so real life issues that might require me to be a sporadic poster for a few days, but you will at least know that I am reading as I will post here at least once and in the Gameplay thread to keep it moving. But it will NOT be at break neck speed. I never intended this to be break neck. If you expect a round of combat done in a day then....LMFAO...ok it's not Rifts...but it could take a bit. I put the "Once Per Day" requirement on here because I can't promise more than that on some days. As long as we all get it, and the fact I am not actually ignoring any of you out of malice. Let me tell you how I touch everything here.

I wake up and spend time with family
Go check email and the boards
Post to the boards and reply to email
Go to work
Take breaks throughout the day and check boards (Reading at the very least)
Try to post at least one more time before sleep (Optional)

This sound much different than some of you?

But that is why I don't expect any more out of you. Relax. Take it easy. The board will still be here tomorrow. Don't worry. Be happeh! (Sorry bad reference. BAD DM! BAD DM! No Cookie for joo!)

Anyways to answer some above questions:

Talon:
This is a scene opener. This means anything could, can, and likely will happen. Don't walk into any situation unprepared in my games. As the DDS (OMG You're freaking Dentist LMFAO) You need to find your level of comfortable paranoia.

Zelaria:
I approve your connection to Belor. Belor is a tough but kind hearted man with a soft spot for the different or weird...and if they are female and young he definitely has a fatherly spot in his soul because he is almost 40 and still single despite many attempts to the contrary, and he is most certainly not into boys or men either. He sees Zelaria like a lot of the adopted children in the gang from the Dragon, as his. He has cleaned up Noro's messes. He's defended helped or recued each of you in some way, and if you don't know or care? That's fine too. Belor does the job for all the good he can do, not the accolades....(He would in fact laugh quite heartily at the thought of accolades).

To the rest of you. My day just hit the fan. I will see you tomorrow.
