About Adrien Duran Mandreiv

Picture ----> Link

Appearance:
A tall man, with golden blond hair is seen standing watch. The look on his face admits a kind of pride for his duties. His fine clothing displays that he clearly takes time to put himself together each day. He wears the whitest of ivory clothing he can find, which is lined with blue trim. On his feet, low-topped leather shoes, which seem to be finely treated, with a polished golden buckle firmly holding the straps. He dons a well-polished breastplate, engraven with an image of the holy symbol of Abadar, a key. It looks as though his hair is purposely held out of his face, as if to not hinder his vision. His nose is thin, and slightly long, with a high bridge. His nostrils are sharp, which form into a rounded tip at the center. The slight wrinkles around his amber eyes silently speak of sincerity. He does not have dark complexion, which is odd for a Varisian, but his skin looks to be tan from hours in the sun. Whether his attention to detail is narcissistic, or out of respect for his calling isn't clear at first glance, and one who doesn't understand his duty and calling may think the worst of him based on appearance alone.

Personality:
Adrien's presence and mannerisms speak a kind of confidence unfeigned by the world. His smile is large, and commonly mounted on his face. He sincerely enjoys conversing with those around him, telling stories, and listening to others.
He seems to gravitate more easily towards women, and women likewise towards him, though he is not the kind to find himself in bed with anyone but someone he could call his own. His relationships with men are usually built around feats of strength, competition, and clever conversation, as most men approached him in such ways growing up. He is used to constantly be sized up, and never shy's away from a challenge, even if he knows he will lose, as he's taken a punch or two in the past.
The one thing about him that trumps all others in social situations is his ingrained sense of chivalry. He will not stand for the abuse or mal-treatment of women and those unable to defend themselves.
It is rare that he pre-judge another, and generally assumes the best of all those around him. He doesn't so much believe that the world is good, as much as he believe that he gets the best results when he treats people with respect.

Backstory:
Adrien Mandreiv comes from a family with a long line of honorable Enforcers (armor expert), an elite group from the Korvosian Guard, who have served the Arbiters since the establishment of Korvosa. Their allegiance to the Arbiters stems from their devout dedication to Abadar, the Judge of the Gods.
The Arbiters are essentially the judges of Korvosa, and have legislative power. The Arbiters are currently are led by Zenobia Zenderholm. Zenobia is a no-nonsense judge, and is feared by the criminals of Korvosa.
When it came time for Adrien to be officially dubbed an Enforcer of the Arbiters year (4704 AR), there was cause for great celebration. Adrien (born in 4688) was the first native-born Aasimar in Korvosa in the 297 years since the founding of the city in 4407 AR, and the only Aasimar in the known genealogy of the Mandreiv family. The townspeople see this to be a great blessing to the town, and to the Mandreiv family for their undying service to Abadar. Whether or not this is true it is unknown, but in the 19 years that Adrien has lived, the economy of Korvosa has been richly blessed with unending supplies of oysters, caviar, and Theliu bark (which are the main exports of Korvosa). Because of this, the patrons of Korvosa have been especially generous to the Bank of Abadar, and to the Mandreiv family in gratitude.
After almost 20 years since his birth, his generation hasn't quite accepted him as anything special. The local boys of his age have always regarded him as different, and have always been envious of him. After all, he was amongst the tallest and best looking of the youth. In the presence of elders he was always treated with respect, but in private dealings with other children of his age, he was constantly the tail end of jokes, and mean pranks. Fortunately, Adrien has been able to overcome this, and it has helped him to become stronger. Adrien has faith in himself, and in his potential purpose in the world, because of the encouragement of his father, and of Tuttle (read on).
Adrien’s general feelings towards his family, given destiny, and purpose in life have always been positive. His outlook on life and on the world is a positive one, but as of late, he has been feeling troubled by the ruthless dealings of Zenobia. The most recent of these dealings was the hanging of Maloda Cadabrani (daughter of the leader of a crime syndicate). Adrien by nature turns towards a more compassionate interpretation of the law, and all this has created a feeling inside Adrien that the Korvosians have been corrupted by their newfound power and success. Feeling misled and confused, Adrien began to search for a way to leave Korvosa in order to clear his mind, without abandoning his duties. Is his celestial lineage truly chance, or did Abadar have bigger plans for him?
After becoming an initiate in the ranks of the Enforcers of the Arbiters (armor expert), his progress was supernatural. He was immediately stationed at the Bank of Abadar as one of the Royal Guard, and soon after promoted as a personal bodyguard of Archbanker Darb Tuttle. While serving with Tuttle, their relationship grew strong. Tuttle entrusted Adrien with many secrets of the Church of Abadar, and ultimately used his influence to boost the position of Adrien amongst the enforcers, believing this to be the will of Abadar (ease of faith).
During his three years from initiation to the current date, he was able to surpass the rank of 1st class. When given the charge of becoming an Elite, he saw an opportunity to leave Korvosa. Instead of accepting the charge immediately, he requested that he have the chance to prove himself first, since his progression was so accelerated. He had been hearing of some turmoil at Sandpoint, and requested that he be sent in secret to investigate, and find the root of the problem. The elite guard of Varisia had been tipped off that the burning of the church wasn't just a coincidence, and was looking to give one of the members of the Enforcers this task. His request was approved by the Varisian guard, and he set off.
Before Adrien left for Sandpoint, he requested a final private audience with Tuttle. He asked that Tuttle lead him in a prayer ritual to address Abadar. The purpose of this prayer was to seek guidance, and perhaps even get the chance to find out if Abadar had a hand in his birth. After a three hour ritual with no notable success, Adrien, began to get the feeling the answer to his question would not materialize yet. After the ritual was completed, and all praying had ceased, Adrien opened his eyes to find Tuttle now standing with a deep stare at the altar. As his eyes began to focus, Adren noticed a golden key sitting atop the alter. Adrien grasped the key, and then looked back up at Tuttle. "I cannot tell you what this means, but I know that you have a long road ahead of you." said Tuttle. Firmly nodding his head, Adrien embraced Tuttle, his beloved mentor, and started on his way to Sandpoint.
Adrien arrived late that night in Sandpoint. Without wasting any time, he went to the local inn to secure a room for the night. Feeling uneasy, and full of mixed emotions, he eventually managed to fall asleep, clutching the key which he now had around his neck in his fingers. He dreamt a long and strange dream, depicting a great demonic figure rising up from the coast of Varisia. In a wake of destruction, the demon started to consume the entire world, with a seemingly unstoppable force. Just then, he awoke to the crow of the cock, still firmly grasping the key. He donned his breastplate, and strapped his sword at his side, without the least bit of certainty of what lay before him. His first task: seek audience with the Mayor and Belor to declare his presence and offer his assistance.
