"RRaaargh!" Amaranti cries from frustration. Slowing down for a moment, he closes his eyes and whispers to the Great Beyond. And in a moment, his whisper is heard and a small eagle materialises into air above them. And in the same instant, the eagle dives for the escapee.

Standard action: SLA Summon Monster I

Exiting the warehouse, Amaranti's summoned eagle is circling the area outside; where an unwrapped burlap sack sits and an 8 inch golden giraffe statue lies on its side.

Gathering around the statue, Buri is no where to be seen...until a figure materializes in front of Amaranti; striking at the summoner with a devastating blow to the head!

Round 1 No map...I almost feel sorry for Buri!

Gaius, Amaranti and the eagle are too much for Buri...so much so that Lucian catches only air with his rapier as Buri Buri's body hits the ground.

A lot of the reviews for this module mention that it is very "un-Pathfindery" since all you do is walk around and beat the stuffing out of people so you can steal their statues. I'd say the reviews are fairly accurate!

The final statue is held by Saldin Marafi who holds court at the Secure Market. Situated in the foundation of an ancient tower and surrounded by walls with no windows, it is accessible by one heavily-guarded, narrow entrance from the Central Market to the north. Visitors may not bring weapons into the Secure Market, though the merchants, their personal guards, and the Secure Market guards can.

The market is under an anti-magic field—no magical charming, pecuniary prestidigitation, or counterfeit conjuring can happen in this place. It’s a popular place to do business for those who take security to the level of fetish, and who can afford the stall license.

oh, I thought murdering and looting was the very essence of being a Pathfinder :D We have a reputation to keep, you know... True, this scenario seems to leave very little option on how to acquire the statues...

"No weapons? I don't leave my lance", Amaranti is negotiating with a guard. He looks at the other for some help in talking their way in.

Jorus loads up another statue into his pack and follows the group to the next stop.

As Amaranti talks with the guard, Jorus turns to Gaius "I forgot something back there, I will be return shortly." He gives his friend a wink and rushes off.

Jorus finds a close alleyway and ducks behind a few boxes. He moves up his leather sleeve exposing his wrist, and wraps around his sling tightly around it making it look like a leather band. The half elf rolls back up his sleeve and then dips into his coin purse and takes a few silver to cover up the top of his bag of bullets concealing them.

Then unrolls his bedroll and takes his twin daggers and shortsword that were hidden under his cloak. He places the blades in the bedroll and rolls them up in it. He ties the bedroll back on his backpack and heads back out to the group changing up his route a little bit just incase.

"But it is treasure in family", Amaranti tries, not very convincely.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

"Bah, fine. Have it. Do not lose, or I get very angry!" Amaranti gives up, and surendershis weaponry to the guards.

I'm assuming the weapons are left at the guardpost. Otherwise Amaranti heads back to the Pathfinder lodge

Yep...you can pick up your lance later. Of course if one of your companions wants to try to Bluff their way in as a merchant and claim that you're "hired security"...

Seems like a thing I might do.

"My good guardsmen, we are not ruffians. We are to protect a rather important shipment of goods coming into the market this morning."

Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

"Shipment…" the guard thumbs through his paperwork. "We're not supposed to get a shipment today."

"Then again…they never tell me anything. Move on through; and don't cause any trouble while you're in there. And please" looking at Amaranti "keep that thing pointed toward the ground unless you need it. Which shouldn't be likely; but you never know."

Saldin Marafi’s stall is at the back of a narrow notch in the edge of the Secure Market where he is protected by two bodyguards. Even if you did not manage to bluff your way in with your weapons there are several items that would do in a pinch; the poles holding up awning stalls can be used as quarterstaffs and a couple of pieces of machinery would make serviceable, if unwieldy clubs. Lastly, the spice itself could be used to blind someone for at least a small amount of time.

Jorus went into the market thinking he was smooth hiding his weapons until he see's the rest of the group coming in with all there weapons and sighs to himself, "Guess I should of waited for you all."

As they approached the next target he begins to get ready for trouble, so he untangles his sling under his cloak. As Saldin raises his blade Jorus launches a bullet at him.

Lucian runs the lead bodyguard through, causing him to grab his gut in pain. The ranged attacks miss their intended targets. Realizing that discretion is the better part of valor, Saldin retreats to the back room, leaving his bodyguards to do his dirty work.

Amaranti is up.

We'll just say Saldin delayed...

Seeing both bodyguards subdued, Saldin scurries out the back door. After a quick search of Saldin's wares Jorus easily finds the wrapped statue at the bottom of a deep spice tray.

As Gaius explains your case a liveried messenger hands a letter to one of the guards, who reads it quickly and sighs. "Let 'em go boys...seems these lads have friends in low places." The messenger hands each if you an invitation from Grandmaster Torch to dine with him at his inn.

You are treated to a sumptuous dinner and are offered luxurious accommodations for the night. "I'm sure the Venture Captain can wait until tomorrow for your report...and don't forget to let him know that the Society owes me a favor. Good night, gentlemen. I'm sure we'll meet again."
