Annalísa aims her short bow at the caster, releasing her arrow as she hears Hskovati releasing her arrow in the general direction of the caster.
Short bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + (1) + 1 = 6
This is a sneak-attack for Annalísa, hence the added damage. I didn't take into consideration the caster's cover.

Kyra Soulkeeper |

Kyra steps to the side, loading the sling and firing a stone at the moment the door is opened. The sling flies towards the caster within all the bodies.
Sling + Guidance: 1d20 + 0 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 0 + 1 = 20
Bludgeoing damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

DM Kludde |

The robed figure looks in alarm as Hskovati's arrow whizzes past her head, then looks Annalisa straight in the eye from behind the iron mask as the second arrow passes by. Another arrow, those from the bow of Yakanzi, fails to hit her, leaving only Kyra, who manages to land her stone in the face of the caster, big an anticlimactic 'thunk'.
The goons are quick to react, and form a line in front of the robed figure, aiming their crossbows for the stable entrance.

Kyra delays a bit to see what her companions do before truly acting.
Before the guys were flat-footed, this time it will be hard to hit them with my sling :(

Hskovati hits the crossbow thug in the chest, and a quick follow-up shot by Annalisa hits the thug in the eye, killing him on the spot.

Yaroslav blesses Yakanzi, before the latter set off for the stable's side door. Kyra manages to nearly take out the other thug.

Kyra looks perplex how the foes run away "What are they trying to achieve? They are acting very weird, don't you find?" the cleric calls a blessing and touches the nagaji with her hand. Hskovati receives guidance.
She then waits patiently behind the group for the party to take a decision "Shall we go out? It seems it is what they want us to do, approaching them. Which is most weird behaviour. They seem to be plotting something against us."
Standard: guidance over Hskovati (+1 to one roll)

"Then I sshall go confront thiss weird plotting." The paladin takes a deep breath, and seems to grow larger in presence as she straightens. With a firm step, Hskovati hustles out into the open and fires an arrow towards the enemy.

Where in the stable was the window we were talking about earlier? Is there any other way Annalísa can shorten the distance of running around half the compound to reach the other entrance (a back door or something)?

DM Kludde |

The stallls have pretty small windows to the outside, but they are too small to climb through.
Kyra keeps hidden and casts a blessing as Hskovati is the first to step out in the open, drawing a shot from the crossbowma, which whizzes past his head.
Bolt, Hskovati: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d8 ⇒ 1

Yakanzi rushes forward to the priest, but his path is too long, and he is not quick enough to catch the priest off-guard. What seemed like a sure hit is blocked at the last moment by the robed figure.

Annalísa grits her teeth as sword and flame strike her, but she manages to minimize the damage from each. She smiles as she takes a step back, then circles around the robed figure, in order to flank him. Once there, she pierces him with her rapier.

Also the +2 deflection bonus should apply to Annalísa save against the burning hands due to protection vs evil :-)

![]() |

Good point Kyra, I forgot about it - thanks! She'd pass the burning hands anyway, but +2 more to her AC also means she wouldn't get hit by the Goon (16 AC + 1 AC from expert duelist [only one adjacent foe] and +2 from Prot. Evil = AC 19), so she only lost 3 HPs, not 5.

DM Kludde |

Annalisa tumbles past the robed figure just as Yakanzi adjusts his swing with a stroke of luck. Annalisa drives her blade in the back of the priest, while Yakanzi stabs the priest in the throat. A jet of gore signifies the end of the false caster.
Seeing this display of might, the crossbow thug decides to surrender Have mercy on a faithful servant of Razmir!
Combat over
A quick investigation shows that the Inn's front door has been barricaded with a card. The priest and her two cronies were watching over the only possible escape route, but unaware that the party had gone to the stables.

Kyra Soulkeeper |

"Ok, help us and we will accept your surrender." Kyra helps the party loot the fallen bodies.
"Tell us bowman, what is your name?" she pauses to get an answer "How many more of you are in the inn? Why have they retained the dwarves? How can we escape with them and follow our calm life?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
If the man doesn't accept to redeem, Kyra takes out her scimitar and finishes him off.

DM Kludde |

Correction to the previous post: barricade with a cart. A wagon.
Then Adenhile was right! You did come because of the dwarves. You are sent here to disrupt our way of life, to sow the seed of unrest in our most glorious nation of Razmiran!
There are no more of us in the inn, you've bested us all.
The man seems rather brainwashed, but the threat of a blade is enough to keep him from being any trouble. Still, it's probably a liability to let him go and report back to his superiors.
The route to escaping is straightforward: out through the courtyard to the river, where the Abacus still waits.

Kyra Soulkeeper |

"If Razmiran is so glorious he perhaps will give you a second chance. Serenrae gave you and you did not accept." Kyra feels an evil act to kill this man. Consequently, she will take him to the dwarven prison with same water and food they were receiving.
If the party agree with all that, she will gather the dwarves and with the rest of the party depart towards the Abacus.

![]() |

Hskovati nods at Kyra's suggestion, not having much luck coming up with a better option.
Anyone searching the bodies? Hskovati may get around to the cleric in a moment, if no one does.

DM Kludde |

The priest carries two magical scroll and a little wand.
That's a healing wand
The fatigued dwarves slump toward the Abacus. Reaching the safety of the ship without problem, it sets sail downstream, a voyage that is much faster than the upstream one. Soon, the boat passes Xer and enters Lake Encarthan, after which the dwarves breathe a sigh of relief.
Congratulations, you have successfully rescued the dwarven envoys from the nasty clutches of the Razmirans. I've uploaded chronicles, you can find them in the discussion thread. If you have any questions about the scenario (or the land of Razmiran, since you didn't make the knowledge checks) let me know

Quite a fast scenario, ain't it? Still, was an enjoyable game, thank you.
