Hahaha.

Lawmaster Malora offers her hand in greeting to the inspection officers--though she doesn't expect a handshake in return. After Sir Ischell speaks she introduces herself.

"Greetings, sir, I am Malora Nagovya, a Lawmaster in Abadar's clergy. Rest assured I am aware of your laws regarding proselytizing and intend no disruption to your country's faith," she also points out her weapons which are being stowed.

Yeah, it said only light weapons were allowed, so I assumed my heavy mace would need to be checked, being one-handed, not light.

As Tamrin goes about his business, he adds one final bit of news about what can or cannot be done in the city. "Casting arcane spells more powerful than cantrips within 5 miles of the Esoterium carries the penalty of having the offender's spellbook burned or their hands broken, unless they are registered members. A temporary license at the school costs 50gp. Divine spellcasters are required to register with the Harbormaster's office, which I can do for you"

Also, when Tamrin is talking to Captain Zaerim you overhear that, because of the commotion in the nearby slave markets, supplies may not be unloaded until tomorrow.

And he waits for everyone to declare their items.

The Museum of History stands almost a story taller than most other buildings in Corentyn’s High Quarter on the north side of the city. Once a courthouse, the building now houses relics from Corentyn’s past, not all of which are sanctioned by the Thrune regime.

Broad marble steps, barely dulled with age and showing only the tiniest of cracks lead to the solid, reinforced double doors of Corentyn’s Museum of History. The building stands in stark contrast to the surrounding structures, most of which are small, cramped, and crumbling. Two city guards stand at the intersection nearby, watching the tradesfolk, fishermen, vintners, and others who make High Quarter their home.

The Museum of History’s maple plank flooring is heavily scarred with the passage of many years and countless visitors, yet it shines from recent and repeated coats of polish. A faint aroma of linseed oil hangs in the air, mingling with the familiar scent of musty, leatherbound tomes.

Slide 8

When asking others in the museum, you are directed to an an adjacent wing and there is Zefiro Balinger, a human male dressed in the garb of a museum expert. Greeting you warmly, he states "Hello! I am Zefiro, who are you and how can I assist you today?"

Malora walks boldly through Corentyn, watching the sights and sounds of the city--both its architecture and it's people--as she goes. She nods respectfully at the guards they pass.

She climbs the broad marble steps of the Museum of History with excitement. Information and relics from the time of Cheliax's fall and the rise of House Thrune would be important information for her church. Civilizations of the present and future could always learn from the mistakes and failed governments of the past...

As she walks through the museum Malora eyes the exhibits. Her leather boots add the dirt of the streets outside to the scuffed maple planked floor. She's too distracted by the relics and history on display to notice the curator greet the group and Vexin request a private meeting.

You're welcome, Vexin! Malora would have been the opposite of subtle... lol

Zefiro, will you be safe here?

As everyone scurries around, Ischell attempts to find a moment he can grab peoples attention.

Does this, like... feel a little off? I mean, uh, we just met this dude and don't really know him. What if we are walking into a trap? I am all about protecting people who need the protection- but not so much blindly sticking my nose into something where I don't know what side I am supporting

Malora nods, clearly worried about this whole situation.

"It is far from out original mission parameters..." she admits.

"We can't stand by as innocents are illegally abducted. Let us check on Mirielle. Then we can judge our place in this debacle."

Ischell is ready to leave with the party to follow the provided directions. Did Zefiro ever say if he perceives the museum to be a safe for him?

Did you not pay on board the ship? That's when/where you would have registered.

Zefiro doesn't care about himself, only that his friend is safe.

"I don't want to know where you are going to take her, if I am arrested, I don't want to be able to give myself, or her, away! Now, hurry up and leave! Go and make sure she is safe!"

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++THE FOX DEN++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The smell of raw fish, stale sweat, and old booze permeates this section of the West Drenches. Broken pathways are slick with mud where they aren’t simply flooded. Small wooden buildings are built around narrow canals brimming with dark water that flows swiftly out to sea. Sounds of a busy business district quiet intermittently, at which time the groaning boats and boisterous sailors in the nearby port are just loud enough to hear.

The Fox Den is a modest-sized building with boarded windows and a badly faded sign that depicts a fox hiding behind its own bushy tail. There’s a small stained glass window set into the front door with a patch of fogged white glass that provides the hostess, Velia, with a view of the cluttered front step. The door opens, just wide enough so that Velia and you can see each other. She looks at you "Can I help you?"
