How was Origins - anything interesting?
There was a time when good, new products would come out at Origins, but that has gone by the wayside as Gen Con has risen to its current height. A lot of developers talking about their new stuff, which of course they were releasing at Gen Con.
I had a good time, though. Lot of games played, beers drank. I go with 4 or 5 guys who all like to game and then hit the bar until late. Then struggle out of bed and do it again.
Yea - there was time when Origins was just as big a deal as Gen Con. Always curious to see how it's doing by comparison. It seems a very "old school" con when I think of it, although I am guessing it's not really.
Not really, although that's the impression I always had: bunch of ancient board gamers, etc. But its very much "modern" in that it has all of the latest rpgs, board games, larps, etc. Almost all of the big name manufacturers are there, almost. No Paizo, FFG, GW, Battlefront, some others I may have missed.
There were a lot of people there, and I heard that there was a bit of GenCon backlash going on. With the problems getting badges, to the hotel scheduling glitches, people were tired of the hassle of GenCon. Makes sense, Ive done both, and to be honest, I prefer Origins.
Good information. Been a few years since I did GenCon, and last time I was out in the boon-docks just to get a reasonable room rate.
You guys know Rhianni better than I do. Its been a week since we've heard from her. Any ideas?

Don't get as much time to play as I used to.. hope things will get easier. Hoping we'll have our house back more by the end of the week, perhaps another 2-3 weeks before the builders are done, only taken them 9 months ...
If I can't get myself back into the game as Rhianni, I'll retire, but I hope that's not the case. I'll put more effort into this game now.

Everyone do me a giant favor and post basic stats in their character description: AC(ac/touch/ff), Perception, Saves, and Init bonus at a minimum, please.
I'm wouldn't mind adding Ring of Protection or maybe one of the CSW potions to my inventory.
My thoughts on the character is that he's kind of an outsider just now, so he wouldn't necessarily claim "spoils" just yet. That's why he hasn't asked for any of it.
I'd be keen on the Amulet and the Ogre Hook. But I also am of the same mind as Alex on us being the new guys.
Outside of that, it's all good to me on who gets what. I don't really sweat it. Me personally, when it comes to some items, I like to give it to whoever I feel like it "fits". And if they don't want it, then whoever wants it. But that's just me. Of course, an amulet can go to anyone so that makes it tougher.
Praxim already has a ring and amulet of equal power, and no interest in using ogre weapons. He also has swift action personal heals, so others should have the potions.
My home internet is being ... less than cooperative (again), and I may not be able to come online everyday. Please don't think that I've given up on the game! I hope service will return to normal soon; feel free to DMPC me if that should become necessary.
As to the loot - I think the new guys should have first grab exactly because they're new. ;) Us old lags have been dipping into the treasure pretty freely so far, so it's their turn.
That said, if the amulet or the ring goes wanting, I'm game.

If that is the general feeling, then I will ask for the Ring and one potion of the treasure unless Rhi or Tomaru need them. If I don't hear otherwise, then I'll consider them to be on my item list and adjust accordingly.
