"I'm Morien." Her response is perhaps a touch cool, and the hand reaching out to shake Tangris' turns smoothly into a punch in the gut.

Not planning to seriously hurt him.

Morien gives a crooked smile and shakes her head at Tangris. "Danny might still want you upright for something. I haven't checked."

If Tangris' sister has a +4 Weapon Rating to her hand-to-hand attacks, that's impressive.

Ack! Sorry, missed all the good openings for my usual one-liners! ;P

Danny starts to respond to Morien's initial greeting, then simply facepalms at Tangris' 'introduction'. After that, he hides his face for another few moments, (whether from embarrassment, or simply trying to stifle laughter, you can't tell.) Then comes up smiling As Sal gives everyone's names.

"Yep. That's everyone. Unless YOU picked up some strays recently?" He asks jovially.

"Well, we need to run by Trip's house first. I know the address, but I'm not keen on directions. Ken can probably tell you the fastest way to get there."

"I'm fairly certain we can find you a cuppa joe there. Probably not store-brand either." he smirks, imagining what Morien's reaction to Trip's 'house' will be.

"After that, well, like you heard, we've stumbled onto something,... big. If your up for a little excitement, we could use the help. Sal can probably fill you in faster. In several languages." He adds wryly, with a look at Sal that indicates he's probably impressed (again) at her skill set.
(Morien's too. But he's not so brave as to mention or show it so soon after a Tangris' moment.)

Morien quirks an eyebrow at the suggestion that she picks up strays. Not her. Well, unless you counted him that one time. "Sounds good. So long as there's coffee, I can deal." Danny nods and opens the back door of the sweet ride, allowing Bunny to enter first.

"Doggie-pile!" He cannot help but say cheerfully, watching Bunny's assets settle themselves comfortably in the backseat. He idly wonders what the ride would be like with just a teensy bit more room,... and swiftly decides the last thing he needs is to give Tangris more room in which to maneuver with Bunny between them.

"Thanks Morien. And nice to see you again." He adds once he is settled in the backseat. His wry smirk brightens the rear view mirror.

"No problem," she replies. It's not clear whether her easygoing tone is supposed to indicate anything in particular.

Morien waits for all doors to close and makes sure that Kenneth is out of the way before she starts the Frost. The car glides out of the alleyway and along nearly-empty roads like an ice skater on a winter lake. She glances over at Sal, "Sorry 'bout the lack of foot room. "No problem. Have you ever seen a military transport? It's not nearly this comfy. Take a left here..." Sal directs Morien to Trip's country estate, a sprawling brick house with outbuildings and some acreage. She unlocks the back door to let her friends in, leading them to the kitchen and scrounging for coffee to make a pot for those so inclined.

As rummages through cabinets and grabs supplies, she beckons Morien close and tells her quietly, "I'm not sure what you're working on right now, but we've got a lead on some nasty heroin that may be coming in straight from the Poppy Court. The lookout we were talking to was on it when we arrived, and he had fangs for a few minutes. New stuff to us, and we sure don't need a rash of vamps here. If you can get leave for a while to work with us, well... it might be very handy to have you along. If the others agree, of course. But my thought is we can use all the help we can get." She finishes setting up the grounds and filter and turns the machine on.

"While that brews, I'm going to go to the wine cellar to see what Trip was talking about. Back in a moment, unless you want to join me." Sal descends the stairs to the depths, flicking on the light as she goes.

While listening, Morien gets that '2+2 = dammit' expression. "Sure thing. I need to call someone in California who'll be very interested to know about this." And who can make sure someone follows up on it if we 'disappear'. She doesn't yet think that's a serious risk, but an engineer always has a plan for when the fecal matter hits the rotating air impeller.

While Sal heads downstairs, Morien rummages in her messenger-pack for an international calling card. She dials for her Sensei in LA, grateful for the 8h time difference and watching the coffee pot like it would deliver the Answer to all her problems.

Bunny snuggles in between the two men, seems that there isn't too much space although her she has little sense of personal space, not minding the closeness.

The mansion is very impressive, with large wall and a magnificent acreage out back. At this time of night, there isn't even the maid around. Inside it's quiet and the coffee percolates nicely - filling the kitchen with a lovely smell, this mingles with the fresh bread and beef on the side.

Sal:
Looking where trip instructed you, there's a duffel bag with a good number of sticks of C4 & the primer charges and some timers. Of course there's a host of lovely wine too.

Danny winks at Morien in the mirror, then enjoys the ride snuggled up against Bunny.

He even enjoys watching Tangris make moves on Bunny, although a lot less than if he had more room, so he wouldn't feel so much like a voyeur.

Once at the mansion, Danny steps out of the Frost and stretches,

"Welcome to Wayne Manor!" He says brightly to Morien as she exits the vehicle and gets her first good look at the house.

He moves to the kitchen with the others, and helps with the coffee, as well as checking the fridge for convenient leftovers. He snags a plate of sliced roast beef, and finds a loaf of french bread in the pantry. He promptly pops the plate into the microwave to warm up while he slices the bread.

He leans against the counter, munching on a sandwich as he also stares at the coffee pot while it perkily percolates. He glances up at Morien.

He decides against asking her anything until she's had at least one cup of coffee.

Sal's eyes light up when she opens the duffel. "Well hel-lo!" she coos to the contents, then zips it back up and slings it over one shoulder. Feeling celebratory, she grabs a random bottle of wine and heads back up the stairs.

Emerging from the cellar with a triumphant grin, Sal sets the bottle on the counter near the eaters, drops a duffel full of chunky shapes near the door, and starts slicing a piece of the french loaf longwise.

"Trip's a great host," she enthuses, "He left me some toys and I brought up some of his wine. I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Not sure what it is. 'Montrachet Grand Cru 2008 Henri Boillot'" she reads from the label, then shrugs, layering roast beef on the bread and squishing it down to manageable altitude. "Must not be very good. Aren't good wines really old? Anyway, help yourself if you like. I'll need to pop upstairs and change into something decent, then grab more toys." She takes a huge bite of the sandwich and sighs, rolling her eyes in pleasure. "Kenneth, you're a marvel. This is the first food I've enjoyed in weeks."

Bunny smiles taking a gentle sip of wine; "Nice, any wine is usually tasty. This is a posh pile, even nicer than the councillors."

Morien:
"Saw the news of your arrival, congratulations." her sensei says upon hearing Moriens voice. The compliment only given when the master means it, is completely genuine.

"Are you enjoying it over there? Not too crowded?" the voice is stable and level, not trying to push too much.

Morien leans against the counter top, oblivious to the others. "Thank you. Lycius appreciated your gift." She's pleased, but still subdued. "I've been having a great time, up until ..uh.. about half an hour ago. Then I found out there's a real mess here in York, and a couple of people I know are neck-deep in it." A pause for acknowledgement; she knows her Sensei will want details. "You've heard about the other California Court, the one that delivers to Skid Row? What they're shipping here is contaminated - no, not the usual. With their blood." Morien lets that sink in a moment. "Yeah. So we're gonna try and play public health advocates and prevent an outbreak. Wish us luck."

Danny helps himself to a glass of the wine, seeming to splash it carelessly into the glass, although he never spills a drop. Despite his seemingly casual way which he attacks the sandwich and coffee, he actually pauses to sniff the wine deeply before tasting it, and sips it slowly when he does drink it.

"Yeah. Trip's great. I need more friends like him!" Danny agrees cheerfully.

"So." He adds, still smiling but far more soberly.

"We're refueled, re-geared and ready to go. So,... where exactly are we going?" He looks around at the others.

"This is,... getting big. Maybe you guys and gals are used to running around nipping at the heels of vampiric drug lords, but this is new to me. I thought the normal drug kingpins were bad enough. But now this?!? I'm good at ad-libbing, but please tell me that someone has a plan? An actual plan? Like, you know, the kind that won't get us killed, or eaten, or worse???"

"Sounds like we are going to Hull to check out the drugs den, or laboratory? ♥" Bunny says the ascendant pitch at the end of the statement.

Male Warrior-Bard of Old; Herald of Brigid Stress: P: OOOO M:OOOO S:OOO; Fate Points: 3;

Kenneth nods, "We are, indeed. Though, again, Bunny, we dinnae want tae drag ye intae something... especially if it ends up turning the vampires' ire 'gainst your pack."

Morien:
"You'll need more than luck. Just remember sunlight is your friend, as is the wards of home." her sensei sounds concerned; "Wards and running water neutralise magics, wards can be the pure happiness of family - not like yours." she adds sadly.

"There's also their need, they need vitae. Though it's said some feed through a stronger bond not just blood. However not the emotional vampires of the White Court."

"It's tough to make a solid plan of attack without good recon, Danny," Sal says quite seriously to the normally-jovial singer, "Recon is dangerous, but it's what we're going to have to do unless we know somebody familiar with the place. We already have an idea of what we're looking for. With luck, we'll find out more about what's going on. We'll possibly get more of this stuff to destroy. Worst case, we hit an empty place and maybe wreck some equipment. Heh. 'Worst case' is also the safest for us, I guess. "

She licks her fingers to polish off the sandwich, then goes to the sink to wash her hands. Sniffing appreciatively, she brandishes the coffeepot. "Anybody else?" Hot brew splashes into white porcelain as she distributes the coffee to all who need it.

"The safest thing is probably to drive by the address, then stop a couple of blocks away. Sneaky folks can go back on foot to circle the place, looking for entrances/exits and also for any lookouts, inside or outside. We need an idea of the surrounding area, too - cover, high spots, and the like. Once we have that, we can put our heads together and plan the actual operation."

Changling Spellsinger Physical: [] [] [] Mental: [] [] [] [] Social: [] [] [] [] FP:10

Danny gives a small smile,

"So, our plan is go forth and take a peek, so we can make a plan?" His eyes glitter merrily.

"Alright. I'm in. Not like have anything else to do until morning." He jests, accepting the last splash of coffee as a partial refill in his cup.

"As long as I'm not late for my,... meeting. I canNOT be late for the meeting. I'm not even sure getting killed will get me excused from it,..." He adds with a glance at Morien.

The drive to Hull is a long one, taking the best part of 2 hours down the dark motorways, Morien can definitely feel that the car wants to leap from under them to really stretch it's legs - to blast off down the motorway. Despite knowing that Kenneth could keep pace, they stay at the speed limit 70mph or maybe just North of it (or will you?).

The outskirts of the city is rundown, shops long since vacated with warped plywood boarding over the fronts, sprayed with graffiti. Basic tags not the artwork of the caring youth, but of the bored yob. An air of desperation hangs over the city like a funereal pall. Ladies of the night hang about under flickering street-lights, looking bored and tired.

Following the address in the book and given by the courier, Sal consults an atlas she picked up at Trips' mansion. The city is bisected by the River Humber and the massive bridge that spans it, the far bank is a dark shape. In fact it compares to the Golden Gate bridge in terms of stature, as a landmark it does stand as a symbol. Industry is heavier here and thus it's where the group head.

Amongst the anonymity of the countries (maybe even Europe's) busiest ship-yard and warehouse district, the laboratory lies. However of course this means that the buildings have few visitors, generally only vans and lorries driving to pick up and deliver items. The public is not forbidden, but invisibly discouraged from entering the area.

Scouting out the place and pulling into the shadow of a different building, you get a basic idea of the layout of the laboratory/ drug warehouse. It is surrounded on 3 sides by 10 foot high fencing, the bottom 2 foot blockwork, the next 7 by basic wire mesh and it's topped with razor wire. There are camera's positioned around the area, not complete coverage but possibly monitored. The major gap is at the entrance where there is a shack and barricade, a light inside shows that it's the security guards hut and still in active use.

The final side of the site adjoins the river, a small dock and pier. A small boat is docked, not really a powered craft but it bobs upon the black wide estuary river.

The building it's self is squat and low in the warehouse district, being overshadowed by nearby buildings. With a main glazed entrance and a smaller rear one - though it's roller-shutter doors for deliveries. 1 Storey with a flat roof, it stands 20 metres minimum from the fence and at the front there are a half dozen visitor's spaces.

Bunny smiles at you guys after the scout; "There's a bloke who has 2 patrol dogs and at least one other guard... though there is the stench of vampires around. Fresh vampires, they still might be there..." she pauses adding hopefully; "♥ I did good?"

Would it be investigation to try to figure out which cameras can see an area of the fence -- burglary is more lockpicking and the like -- trying to bypass the sensors and all that, while stealth would be to keep out of the view of cameras (which seems related). Assuming people like the "fry a camera and see what happens" plan, of course..

Worse case, they go all Fort Knox at the slightest change, in which case we KNOW we have the right spot at least. But if they come and check out a camera not working, and let it ride until the morning repair crew comes in, we have a door. Let's try it."
