Yeah, I am definitely picking up Spellcraft next level so I can start IDing all this stuff.

"This must be the Silver Ravens' cache!" she whispers excitedly. As the others look around, she looks to the others.

"So now that we've found the cache, what's our next move?"


@aldren- You cant find anyone hiding whomever/whatever it is it must have left or somehow got around you.

@Laurant- the Mythril Lock you are unable to open. It is beyond your skill you might have to pay someone or find someone to be able.

Everyone starts to hear music again. towards the circular room with all the wards and runes as you are going through the contents.

She takes one of the ravens and stuffs it in her pack, indicating that everyone else should grab one and do the same, before heading in the direction of the music and listening to see if it leads her further.

Aldren will cast Guidance on Berenice before she goes. The creature gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. It must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies.

Septimus holds his sword at the ready and moves forward as quietly as he can although probably without much success.

Well better than one might expect it seems. Septimus is able to avoid too many clinks and footfalls on his way toward the music. Unfortunately he's too concentrated on stealth to pay too much attention.

"Well, this is beyond my ability to open. We might need to hire someone to get at it. Of course we could also just smash the chest, but I suspect anything in here might be delicate... and the chest itself might be worth something," Laurent says.

Once the group has decided to move forward, he will take one of the silver raven figurines as instructed. He lingers near the back, since a whole horde of people attempting to sneak into a room through one entrance is likely doomed to failure.

when people start moving into the Large circular room. the foul smelling water starts to churn and three creatures from the Hells emerge. in addition it appears creatures also hear the pull of the music as a group of rats shortly begin to form. (no surprise round to the forming and the creatures form up)

description of creatures in foul water- A roiling wave of flesh gushes forward. Amid the fatty surge wriggle half-formed limbs and a dripping tumorous face.

Septimus seeing the rat swarm and the creature says, "I will handle the creature. For the rats, I have some alchemist fire in my pack. Use it to disperse the swarm if you have the means to retrive it!"

She quickly mutters a few words, and Septimus' pack begins to open.

Casting unseen servant and having it retrieve the alchemist's fire. (I assume that's all it can do this round, but if not, it will deliver it to her).


I'm still waiting on people however don't forget to move your people I had to move septimus to the most likely place the closest enemy. Septimus can change the place if he gets on before the others are done.

Seeing Septimus charge into the fray snaps her out of it, and she takes a shot at the one he attacks.

Laurent sees no choice but to help deal with the rat swarm, as he has no idea how deep the offal pit is. He runs up behind Septimus as the former guardsman attacks one of the horrible melted creatures, but isn't quick enough to grab a flask of alchemist's fire out of his pack.

Have to double move to make it adjacent to Septimus to grab an alchemist's fire out of his bag.

@berenice- you see that you did very little damage as the flesh on the creatures seems to absorb most of the damage.

@Septimus- the creature in front of you roars in pain however it seems you didn't do as much damage as a strike like that normally does.

@carawyn- Your unseen servant opens the pack. next round it will need to grab and bring it to you.

@Laurant- the pack magically opens once you get to it.

So, this is mild metagaming and I hope the GM will forgive me, but... I'm seeing Bee's critical arrow didn't do as much damage as expected, so likely DR. We have the silver dagger. Anyone have applicable knowledges to figure out if the silver would help? I'll roll Religion but I don't think they're undead.

Aldren unleashes a string of curses and invective in Elven as he moves away from the horde of rats that has appeared behind them. 5' step "Septimus, Laurent, get to the other side of those creatures so I can channel!"

In the meantime, the cleric swings his morningstar at the sludge-creature in front of him. standard action

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

I have a 30' burst on my channel energy but can exclude two people. If everyone except 2 allies can get out of that radius, I'll start channeling. Should help with the rats and hopefully with these other creatures.

Laurent grabs a Alchemist's Fire out of Septimus's backpack, then turns back toward the swarm of rats.

"Incoming!" he yell, then waits a second for everyone to back away from the rats before chucking the alchemical concoction into the mass of creatures.

Move action to retrieve the Alchemist's Fire, Laurent will hold it until everyone backs away from the rats. When they do he will throw it at the swarm square closes to him as a standard action.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

If she's not nauseated:
She stars at the nearest flesh blob attacking them, hoping to render it a little less dangerous.

Evil eye on creature fighting Berenice; -2 to attack rolls for 6 rounds; DC 13 Will save reduces that to 1 round.

The attacks deflecting off of the defences of septimus, he continues to slash at the beast he has wounded.

Unfortunately the blade hits nothing but air. Nonetheless he holds the line against the assault.

After seeing her arrow has very little effect on the monsters, Berenice squints as she tries to figure out where to shoot on this thing so it would hurt.

Berenice will study the lemure Septimus is fighting to gain bonuses against it.

Aldren sees the melee types aren't really moving but a space is opening up around him nonetheless. He slips to the side of the lemure and calls upon the wrath of his goddess once more.

Septimus seeing the liquid sickening and the rats and creatures surrounding him decides to back away and draw the creatures out of the pool. He goes Full Defense and moves out of the liquid.

He barely succeeds but does provoke AOOs.

He takes a position on solid ground and says to the others, "Stay out of the pool. The liquid is toxic."

"My arrows aren't making much of an impact either! We'll really have to hammer these things if we want to take 'em down!" Berenice barks.

She sees one of them cornering Aldren and scuttles to the side away from the rats.

"Hang on, Aldy! I'm coming!"

She scrutinizes the beast to try and find the best place to shoot.

Berenice will take a move action to study the lemure attacking Aldren and then move away from the rat swarm and closer to Carawyn.


@everyone- you hear a snickering off to the side as you see Stellx pointing and laughing at you. "Ha, Ha, Ha, you stupid humans, you don't have any Silver to kill the demons." he falls over thinking its the funniest thing he has seen in awhile.

FYI, there was a mwk silver Morningstar in the loot. so either lirana or aldren could have grabbed it. The assumption is both you use it as your main weapon. (technically everyone can attack these creatures ill give it one round to figure out how. before int checks)

@aldren- the creatures appear immune to your poison effect but not the rat swarm, Aldren you are positive they are not undead,

Actually not hit due to total defense. Septimus takes a 5 foot step away from the rat swarm and hacks at the most wounded creature.

Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

With the -5 for DR, it does 8 damage

Aldren's attention is focused on the sludge devil attacking him but the grimple's taunting still penetrates his mind. It should be killed for its perfidy yet they'll want to give it a medal.

He drops his morningstar (free action), draws the silver dagger (move), then once more calls forth the Savored Sting. "Calistria, sap the strength of those who would harm your servants!"

channel 30', selective channel ignores two targets (Carawyn and Berenice), but should hit the closest lemure, the swarm, and maybe one of the other lemures?

negative energy damage, no save: 1d3 ⇒ 3 +1 Con damage, Will DC 13 to negate

Yeah, I assumed Aldren excluded us (he didn't mention it in his post, but I also wasn't within range, I don't think, when he actually channeled. One of those oddities of PBP. Let me know if you're not OK with that, though, and I'll adjust it.

Small emergency, the rats nearly killed Laurent, he is at 2/8 HP

Laurent reels as the swarm of rats engluf him, covering his body with a thousand tiny bites. Covering his mouth to avoid adding his own vomit to that of the Fae's upchuck on his doublet, he runs toward the back wall, hoping to escape the relentless vermin.

I think Laurent is nauseated, so I can only take a move action. He'll go 30 ft north. I'm sorry DM, I'm not sure what effect the music is having.


@Carawyn- With your attack the Rats flee and disperse as fire consumes enough of their numbers to make them not enough of a threat. shortly afterword's the music stops.

@aldren- they are immune to the poison effect. and it only gets the one in front of you.
Will save: 1d20 ⇒ 9

@septimus- you kill the one in front of you.

I'm going to give a little more time for Berenice and lirana (its the weekend)
