Grace stumbles backwards. She's not a front line fighter. Not without big, strong, bulky men to hide behind. Or, you know, Sunday. She moves down the stairs, ready to defend herself.

Doing a full withdraw down the stairs.

And of ocurse I fall asleep right before Grace's post >_<

Seeing the heavily wounded Diva stumble down the stairs Sunday snarls and barrels past her, as well as the the cultist with the odd look on his face. Was this the one the Witch was talking about? What did she do to... Sunday stopped thinking on it as shivers ran down his spine, in fact, he almost stopped altogether.

But with everything that had happened he pressured on and set upon Grace's attackers.

Sunday cuts down the masked man with ease, sending him tumbling back on the ground into a bloody heap in the corner of the room. One of the three remaining masked men steps up and slashes at the barbarian, quickly followed by the other two as well. The first two fumble forward and can't seem to get a solid handle on their blades, missing badly. The third attacker reaches around the corner and slashes at Sunday's arm (4 damage)

The tall elf steps forward to glare at Sunday. He whips his hands around as he casts a spell and says in a deep clear voice, "Return to the temple immediately, you are desperately needed there." He cast suggestion, DC15 Will to negate or decide suddenly you are needed elsewhere.

Jessica knew there was little she could do to help Sarah and Samuel any further at the moment. She also knew that there was every possibility that one of the cultists might come down and flee only stopping to kill Sarah as he fled. she couldn't let that happen and said, "Go Elisai, I'll protect Sarah." Then she had an idea, something that might actually be worth the effort, she drew to mind the image of her angel and chanted a prayer while focusing on her holy symbol. The bond she had made with it allowed her to access a spell she hadn't prepared and she chose one that might actually scare the cultists into making a mistake. She looked up through the whole where Sarah had fallen from and through it projected the image up.

In the room where the fighting was a brilliant light began to rise through the shaft and quickly reached the top. Once it arrived it formed into the image of an angel, a very pissed off angel, who's drawn blade through the rope and causing it to fall through the hole below.

I cast Major Image using my bonded holy symbol. DC 17 will negates once it's interacted with.

Grace takes a deep breath and begins singing.

NOTE: Grace's Inspire Courage +2 effect has expired. No one is getting that anymore.

Starting up Bardic Performance again. Specifically, Countersong. This should be effective against the mind control the bad guys are dishing out since spells like suggestion and command are language-dependent. Basically, so long as I'm performing the Countersong, y'all use my Perform (singing) check (which is a 28 this round) instead of your own Will save to resist. Sunday, you automatically will get a new save on your next turn, also using my Perform check (28 right now) instead of your Will save to break free.

I do need to make a new Perform check each turn I keep up the Countersong but it will never be less than a 17 since Grace is a freaking diva.

Well, in what I was thinking when he cast the spell, Sunday probably could have totally withdrawn safely and not been threatened and not been in violation of doing anything harmful :) Nice to see countersong being used, it gets such little love.

The man in the robes gasps when the blinding light of the angel comes up the rope. He shields his eyes with his free hand and tries to figure out what the hell is going on. Yelling in a deep commanding tone he issues, "Be gone from here! I shall-" he slashes at the image with his short sword, the blade cutting right through the illusion. He gasps, "-what? Trickery? I should have figured as much. Take your foolishness elsewhere child, you are outmatched here!"

He looks to Sunday and commands, "I bid you to take your leave, be gone!" When he doesn't respond he grows frustrated, "KILL HIM!" to which the masked men quickly follow their instructions. The first slashes Sunday's neck with the razor and takes a step back while another steps forward and slashes at his chest. The third doesn't even come anywhere close to hitting him however.

Party is up!

I'm assuming BBEG had to move to the opening that I sent the "angel" up from to take his swing at it which means I should be able to see him from where I'm at. If so he didn't get moved to the right place. Kinda need to know where he is to determine where I want to move to.

Sunday - 11

Sunday clearly is unable to spare anyone from a horrific death as he beheads yet another masked man, blood spraying in a vicious arc across the room.

The leader, the one Delendir spews hatred towards and the masked man in front of hi, resist Yavenee's spell. The robed man turns towards Delendir with outstretched arms, holding his blade at the ready. He is not as surprised to see Delendir as the ranger was to see him. He speaks slowly in a controlled voice. "No half breed, it is you who killed my daughter. Time has done you nothing I see. You return to me now and you shall pay the price of taking my daughter AND grandchild from me."

He points his blade at Delendir and stands erect as he raises his voice, "Your ignorance almost destroyed me as well, but I shall not be done by an insolent fool! This day I will enjoy carving your chest for my mistress."

Through Grace's song Sunday is able to resist the suggestion he had been given and continue to protect and defend his companions here in the mill.

Now that several of you are piling into the room, you can make a DC25 Sense Motive check on the BBEG.

Sense Motive DC25:
The man in the robes is not acting under his own volition and appears to be affected by some charm effect.

The two masked men continue their slashes at Sunday, but both attacks fall short as they grow concerned at the barbarian's ability to continually destroy cultist after cultist. The robed man in the rear closes his eyes for a second before his body shimmers and stretches apart into two separate robed men (Treat as mirror image spell). The robed man screams with pain as Delendir slashes through the immage and cuts him across the chest in a deep wound. He places his hand on his wound and pulls it away bloody. He shoots Jessica's an irked look ash she attempts to disrupt his plan and he ignores her, turning to face Delendir instead. "You were always such a brute Delendir, you ruined her life! You couldn't just leave well enough alone and take what I had given you, could you? NO! You're going to pay dearly for taking her from me."

Grace, Sunday, Yavenee are up. Don't forget the SM unless you can care less about it ;)

"NO! YOU are the one who will pay. You like taking advantage of people who are unable to defend themselves? You do you like it!?!?" As she speaks, the witch's eyes darken, glaring past the immobilized Sunday. The dust in the room begins floating up as she calls upon the very force of the land beneath her, her hands extending as if to take hold of the man's spine from across the room. The moment she finishes she closes her fists in a gripping, twisting motion, chantang a phrase in Shoanti as the man feels every inch of his body begin to lock up.

"Drop your weapons or your master dies!!" she says hoping to distract the cultists for a moment.

Will: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 = 17

Infuriated with constant interruptions he turns to Yavenee's voice and raises his sword sword up high and shouts, "NO YO-". His voice stops mid-sentence as he becomes paralyzed, unable to move.

The cultists eyes flick back towards the robed man, unsure what to do. Despite wearing masks it's clear they are showing signs of hesitation. One of them grunts, "M'lord?" but the robed man does not respond, sword still raised up high.

Apologies, have had the flu for the last three days (excluding today), which is really killing my posting habits. Anyway if I can strike out an an enemy (point of order, not the charmed cultist though), then I'll have Elisai do exactly that. If nothing is within reach, then I'll have Elisai move and take the Total Defence action if I end my turn right next to an enemy. Including an attack roll just so I don't slow things down with my tactical weaknesses

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Elisai's powerful attack unfortunately falls a little short and shreds some of the wood from the stairwell wall.

The robed man is still paralyzed and unable to move, not responding to the masked man.

The two masked cultists are unsure what to do and withdraw, falling back to attack Delendir next round if he injures the robed man.

Party is up! Sunday you get a new save each round.

Having run out of spells that could reach the bastard Jessica changed tactics and drew her crossbow. It was a good thing she always kept it loaded when expecting trouble. She aimed up the shaft, taking a bead on the monster that led this cult and pulled the trigger.

His AC drops by 11 when paralyzed. He isn't doing much at all.

Unable to defend himself, the blade thumps loudly as it falls to the ground at feet of the robed man. The man is completely still as a statue, not responding to the disarm attach whatsoever. His cultist gasp as the blade is knocked from his hands. Again once asks, "M'Lord? Are you alright? What do you bid?"

Jessica's bolt flies up through the openings and catches the robed man in his bicep. Amazingly he doesn't even flinch as the bolt punches through his arm, spraying blood onto the ceiling.

Sunday who did you attack? The cultist both moved on.

Grace, Elisai, Yavenee are up.

Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Already straining against the spell that is binding him, the robed man has no reserves to fend off Yavenee's assault.

The tide has turned and things are certainly not going well for the robed man and his masked cultists. While Sunday misses, Elisai follows his attack with one of her own that sends the closest masked man dropping to the floor. The momentum of her blow send him rolling towards the open hole in and he falls down in from of Jessica with a sickening crunch.

Grace is up.

All cultist are down, nice work. Rover man still far from dropping though. Party up.
