Didn't realize I got low enough to provoke an AoO (and I wasn't sure about where I needed to go to get out of the gas). Can I 5' step back up the wall as a move action? If so, that'll be what Child does.

Coughing away the last of the nausea, Isen looked over at the beleagured Child, and then over at Phai and Vincent, and decided for a moment at least Child could hold his own, whilce Vincent had been eaten. He moved over and attacked the...whatever it was.

Phai's only accurate arrow wasn't enough to stop the creature, and for a moment, it looked like the beast was simply going to crunch down... then Isen shot over, his blade sinking into the creature's body. As it went in, a burst of power flowed through his blade and literally blew it to pieces. It hadn't been a critical blow - and indeed, amorphous creatures were often immune to such - but the earlier arrow had weakened it enough. The creature's slimy body simply collapsed, giving Vincent the time he needed to free himself from the disgusting mass that had swallowed him.

Towards the south, Child was climbing up again - but the Jagladine was on the ceiling now, moving at a faster pace even as it hurled another frosty bomb his way. Having four arms gave it a definite advantage when it came to both climbing and doing other things...

"Child is still fighting. Beware the gas in the chamber, it broils one's stomach." With Vince freed Isen returned to help Child, holding his breath as he passed through the cloud, hoping it would save him from its effects.

Looking towards the other direction after seeing Vincent free again, Phai takes note of the agile insectile creature on the ceiling. Firing a pair of arrows, she finds out just how agile these Jagladine are, both projectiles hitting the ceiling where the creature was a moment before:"Over here, bug! Let's dance!", she exlaims regardless, hoping to draw it's attention away from Plany.

Also, screw board goblins. I am absolutely certain I already posted here on Tuesday. Not just preview, I hit submit, because I edited a typo afterwards. Also, they didn't only eat a post, they ate a confirmed crit against the Jagladine. So yeah, now I'm doubly pissed at bugs of all sorts. The one I'm aiming at will have to do, I guess.

Man, Vincent is having a baaaaad day. Vincent, when we hit level 4, remind me to take Lesser Restoration for the day... if Phai doesn't want to arcana the spell which I just realized she has on the shaman list as well, and oh hmm you can also cast it at level 4, maybe nevermind.

Child moved and attacked again—or at least tried to.

    Scimitar, flanking, shaken: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 8 (-2 if I don't really count as flanking)
    Damage (nonlethal): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

    Bite, flanking, shaken: 1d20 + 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 2 + 2 = 16 (-2 if I don't really count as flanking)
    Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

    HP: 37/40 | AC: 20 | Fort: +8, Ref: +8, Will: +8 | Hero Points: 3/3 | 25 feet speed | Perception: +6 Active Effects: none

Meanwhile, Phai slowly recovered from her Nausea and was getting ready to attack again if the Jagladine hat not already been finished off meanwhile.

One of these days, Vincent will hit something. ; w; I feel legitimately bad for him right now. Tell you what, if your next attack roll misses, I'll give you a free reroll on it. Also, roll Fortitude again in your next post, since this poison needs two consecutive saves.

Side Note: Lesser Restoration has a three-round cast time, so you can't use it with Inspired Spell or Wild Arcana. You'll actually have to prepare that one. Or maybe get a stick with it. The need to cure that sort of stuff happens often enough that it probably wouldn't be a bad investment for the party.

Isen's strike was a solid one, while Vincent's was... less so. All the damage he'd suffered seemed to really be doing a number on his body. Child's attacks missed as well, and the Jagladine kicked open the southern door before scurrying towards the inner room, although he wasn't able to proceed very quickly due to the need to avoid attacks of opportunity. He did, however, manage to climb out of melee range.

Unhindered by his shield, Vincent etched arcane runes into each of his arms, then followed the agile man into the next room.

Setting up right underneath him, with my expanded reach.

Isen smiled grimly as the creature scurried away. It was fleeing. That was good. That it could still flee was less so.

Following the creature, Isen took another shot at it with his magic.

    Destructive Blast: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Funny enough, I get Lesser Restoration as a Spirit Spell, even. Unfortunately everything up to this point caused Ability DRAIN, not Ability Damage, meaning it was useless. I'll also gladly prepare some instances of it if it turns out to be useful henceforth.

Phai followed the creature to the next room, then fired a single arrow at it before testing the range of her glaive. in regular pathfinder distance measurement, it would be within 10 feet reach from my position...should make his acrobatics check slightly more difficult if he intends to avoid us, and together with Vincent invalidate "withdraw" as a way to avoid us.

Still boosted by the wind, Child bounded forward and leaped off the corridor wall, attempting to skewer the creature on his scimitar mid-jump.

    Acrobatics (jump, shaken): 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 - 2 = 25 6' of high jump... should be enough to reach him?

    Scimitar (shaken): 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 2 = 19
    Damage (nonlethal): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

"Someone else ask him to surrender?!" Child shouted deafly at the other party members.

Between Isen's blast, Phai's stab, and Child's stab, the damage was too much for the Jagladine... and it hit the ground, dying but not quite dead... yet. That wasn't going to last unless you deliberately kept him alive, though.

Placing his sword against the creature's throat, Isen looked at the others. "Do any of you have a reason to keep this thing drawing breath, or shall we be done with it?" The white-knuckled grip he held on his weapons hilt and the ice cold disdain in his voice spoke eloquently of the Rogue's preferred solution.

Child-of-Planes, unable to actually hear Isen, cast Stabilize on the bleeding Jagladine.

Am allowed to point out OOC that we don't even know if this is Lomrick, and it might just be a random guy he had over for dinner who got scared and started throwing bombs?

    HP: 37/40 | AC: 20 | Fort: +8, Ref: +8, Will: +8 | Hero Points: 3/3 | 25 feet speed | Perception: +6 Active Effects: none

I would not expect it to be Lomrick, who was out of town last we heared. It's still a Jagladine and accomplice in kidnapping. Especially because we don't know it may be prudent to at least learn who it is...

"Oh, there may be a reason...if it is willing to talk.", Phai responds, noting that Child already stabilized it.

  • "I would like some answers. If this is Lomrick, I want to know why Phai and I were captured, as well as why Relstanna is his captive now. That said, she's my first priority now, and I'd like to see her released as soon as possible, before any reinforcements may come."

Vincent sheathed his sword, recovered his hammer and shield, then kneeled over the fallen Jagladine.

Searching the body, looking mostly for a key, but anything else would be good too. Might as well throw detect magic and detect evil in here now too, now that there's time. And then....

After a quick search of the man, Vincent looked up at his companions, "We're in pretty sorry shape. We should heal before we wake him." Vincent drew his wand, and set to work undoing the many cuts and burns the party had endured.

Please post how many cure light wand charges you need, and I'll mark them off when I see them posted. Feels like it's been a while since we had to heal out of combat, average healing for a wand ok GM? If so, I'll be using 4 charges to heal myself to full.

    HP: 37/40 | AC: 20 | Fort: +8, Ref: +8, Will: +8 | Hero Points: 3/3 | 25 feet speed | Perception: +6 Active Effects: none

After they made sure that whatever should stay down, WOULD stay down, for good, and the Jagladine had been disarmed, hastily bound and readied for questioning, Phai tapped into the source of life, the stream of souls inherent to this planet, to draw forth a wave of healing energy emerging from her.
    Channel Positive Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
May save us a few wand charges, and it's no good as in-combat healing due to lack of selective channel.

After that channel, Child should be fine with around two wand charges.

Isen glanced at the others, then withdrew his sword from the creature's throat and knelt near it. He checked the creature as best he could, to see if he could wake it up. Hopefully a sharp slap to the side of the head would be the best method...

    Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Average healing for the wand out of combat is fine.

In addition to various bomb-making supplies, the unconscious Jagladine had two vials of acid, two bottles of alchemist’s fire, two thunderstones, a blazing robe, and a ring of keys. To Vincent's sight, he detects as evil.

Isen's slap woke it up - and the Jagladine wasted no time at all spitting a sticky liquid into his face before saying something in a language none of you spoke.

    Male Elf Rogue 5/Sorcerer 1 - Witch 4 - Trickster 1 | HP: 46/50 | AC: 22 / T: 17 / FF: 16 | Fort: +4-1, Ref: +8, Will: +7; +2 Vs Enchantment | CMB: +4, CMD: 19 | Init: +4, Perception: +10 | Immune (Sleep) | Spell Points: 13/16

Calmly wiping the fluid from his face, Isen once again placed the blade down - this time across the creatures eyes. "My friends wish to talk to you. I was kept in a Jagladine Research facility and experimented on. I do not wish to talk to you. I do not need a reason to butcher you - merely an excuse. Consider this before deciding if you wish to answer."

As much as Isen hated the thing, he was bluffing, and wouldn't mutilate the thing horribly. He might kill it, certainly, but he wouldn't slice out it's eyes first.
