Graz 5' steps forward swinging his chain at the feet of the Green Zombie (flanking with elemental). As the chain wraps round the creatures feet, Graz pulls it taut, upending the undead Ulfen man. [b]"While he's down, take him!" Graz shouts to anyone who will listen.

I assume Green is prone after that. Will take an AoO from him trying to rise (hopefully).
GM Bold Strider |
Jake cuts down the lead zombie in the burial mask as the rest of the Pathfinders aptly deal with the remainder.
After regrouping, the Pathfinders climb up the ladder to the deck of the ship. The soft glow
of sunlight again penetrates into this ice cave, and several braziers burn near the walls. A beautiful woman stands next to a simple chair, facing you. Other furniture in the chamber suggests that this is her private quarters. The woman looks you over as though judging a draft animal, and asks, “Have you come to work the oars? I am in need of more rowers.”
Tywin-RK |
"No milady, we have come to lift a curse. We have brought the lantern to do so. We believe it should be here on this ship?"
Tywin-RK |
"But erm miss? Could you undo the curse that has befallen our ally?"
Roland Garros |
"Zhere will be no more of zhis creation of zhe undead rowers for you! "
Roland supports Jake and Tywin in their discussion with the woman, hand firmly on his bow.
GM Bold Strider |
First, you bring my property back to me, then you ask me for a favor, but now you rescind the incentive. Rudely, I might add. If you wish to keep the Beacon, then by all means, however you will get no aid from me. chides the woman. She opens a book and begins to read from a bookmarked page, clearly ignoring the Pathfinders.
Kalendir |
Kalendir attempts to discern if the woman is evil or not.
Afraid I know the answer to this as she has a boat of zombie's but none the less detect evil.
Will you aid our ailing companion if we return the beacon?

"Ahem ... My Lady ... clearly we have started on the wrong foot. If you would perhaps suffer our presence a little while longer? We are eager to find a solution that would please all of us. We have reason to believe that the lantern may be the key to removing the curse our friend Skelg is under. If you could perhaps help us with that, we may no longer need the lantern?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Feel free to assist :-)
GM Bold Strider |
The woman smirks at Kalendir and Roscoe. Skelg? I take it that he has fallen under the curse of the Beacon... She appears to ponder over their suggestion. Tell you what. You were strong enough to defeat my ex-husband Haldyr Bjornsson and his men below deck. If one of you remains with me and you leave the Beacon, then I will free the mighty Skelg from the withering curse.
Tywin-RK |
"Well even with the lovely companionship of yourself, I doubt anyone would like to stay at this chilly ship willingly. Perhaps we could take you back with us through the portal or something? Anything to help Skelg, who would probably be very happy if you remove his curse." Tywin says trying to find other options.

GM Bold Strider |
I have no desire to leave this ship unless it is to my home in Irrisen and I can only return home with a suitable mate and the Beacon, now either accede to my small request or leave me to my solitude on this ship. I can say that I would make it worth your while as you would be treated as royalty in Irrisen... entices the woman.
Roland Garros |
"Zhis request for a mate is most unusual. However, if you cure Skelg of zhe ailment,
he no doubt will be grateful to you and could very well be willing to accept zhe offer of travel back to Irrisen. Fair, no?"
Graz Razortusk |
Graz just growls. "What Roland says makes sense to me. Get Skelg, and get back to Irrisen, and all you have to do is cure him of his curse. You win, he wins, we get to go home where it's warm."
Kalendir |
I do not believe Skelg will survive the journey in his current state.

"It is Skelg's fate ... as it is his curse. We should give him the choice I think."
Roland Garros |
Roland smiles rapt the woman's last comment.
"Why worry about zhem? Really? Graz, I zhink we finally found zhe perfect situation for your unique social skills. Zhis woman seems like she needs a warm hug to warm her cold heart. "
Graz Razortusk |
Graz raises an eyebrow skeptically at that comment. "She is just an icy b$#@%, I wouldn't waste time with her. How do we get back to Skelg and ask him if he wants to come live with the Ice Queen here?"
Tywin-RK |
"I think the portal is still open right? We could go back and ask Skelg about it." Tywin says.
If the party reaches a concensus he will move back to the deck, all too glad to leave this chilly boat.
Tywin-RK |
Tywin will head on through and go see how Skelg is doing.
"Skelg, how are you? We found a certain mistress on the other end of the portal. Apparently she is the wife of Haldyr Bjornsson, who we found on the ship. She looks quite pretty, and apparently she has family here in Irrisen. But for some reason she is stuck on that ship. She is willing to remove the curse if you keep her company. How would you feel about that? Could you come with us? I'll support you so you can discuss terms with her in person."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
If Skelg agrees, Tywin will support him on the way back through the portal.
GM Bold Strider |
Roland and whomever stays on the boat will see her causally reading her book. She offers you no food or drink or even makes an effort to host you.
---
"Wi-wi-wife of Haldyr Bj-bjornsson? Th-that fool would have h-had her burn, if I hadn't r-r-raided his funerary ship..." the Ulfen man states. "Y-you lot just killed h-her son, Bengeirr."
Tywin-RK |
"Well in that case you can make new sons with her...heh...heh...heh..." Tywin says as a bad attemp at a joke.

Roland Garros |
Roland grows impatient waiting...wishing he had some sort of round device he could strap to his arm or wrist to tell him how long it has been. Maybe a small sundial or hourglass.
"Well, I suspect zhey will be back any time now. Zhen we can finish zhis business and depart, no?"
Graz Razortusk |
Graz shares Roland's impatience. "How hard is it to bring a bed-ridden man back here? Maybe I should go help?" asks the half-orc, perhaps not understanding the finesse involved.
GM Bold Strider |
The bed-ridden man seems to have lost his sense of humor and doesn't know what to make of the statement by the man. He just kind of looks oddly at you while he shivers.
---
"Do what you wish. I'm sure my boat will be frozen longer than your master has time left on this earth." the woman waves off, not even glancing up from her reading.
Tywin-RK |
"Look she offered this deal... either you go to her and you can negotiate with her yourself and get rid of the curse... or we...well..we currently have no alternative. "

GM Bold Strider |
Skelg shrugs "There are worse fates than keeping a woman of her beauty company..." The man shakily stands to his feet and moves to follow Tywin through the portal. The biting cold of the ship seems to agitate his condition even farther.
He reaches the cabin and the eyes of the sorceress gravitate towards him immediately. "I see you have brought him..."
Skelg half-heartedly smiles. "Hello, once more Natalya..."
Impatiently, she stands up and puts out her hand. "Alright, I shall fix this curse. The lantern, please?"
Roland Garros |
Roland was just about to go looking for the missing men when he sees Skelg appear.
"Zhis is most excellent timing. Now we can complete zhe task and Master Skelg can be cured and start his new life all in zhe same day. ."
Graz Razortusk |
Graz watches the lady Natayla carefully trying to ascertain if her intentions are good or ill against Skelg, but it seems like they know each other at least.
If it looks like she is making an attack or aggressive move, he will intervene.
Tywin-RK |
not sure who has it, but I'm assuming we give it to her.

Roland, like Graz, watches intently for any sigh of treachery in word or action.
"We have kept our end of zhe bargain. Skelg are you ok with zhis? If so, zhen lady keep your end of zhe agreement. . "
