If you'd like, you can attempt a Sense Motive check to see if we're under any sort of charms or compulsions. That seems like something that could help in convincing us.

Good idea...I have no skill in that but Copper and the Lady do...

D'awwwwww

Yeah, there are a couple ways to trick out a build so that you provide flanking with a ranged weapon, but you only ever get the +2 for melee attacks.
(I think the -4 for shooting into combat without Precise Shot may also have been missed)
Grynt |
Thanks, only been playing PF (and PBP as well) for a couple of months so there's a lot I don't know...just thought I recalled reading where flanking bonuses were only allowed during a melee attack...
Noticed that as well...but since the roll was so high, don't think the -4 would've mattered...
Narayan Singh |
Probably not, but since we were getting rulesy :p
Grynt |
Sorry, wasn't trying to be rulesy, just curious since I don't have much experience. I'm more of a ranged guy and looking for ways to be better at it...if there is a way for an archer to use flanking, I'd like to take advantage of it...
Narayan Singh |
Didn't mean rulesy as an insult at all.

No worries, I didn't take it like that at all...
I saw earlier that your character has been through a bunch of other modules...none of which any of my characters have...other than this one and one other, I've just been in evergreens. Did any of those modules stand out above the others?

Narayan is substantially a GM credit baby, so I haven't actually played all of these but...:
Hall of the Flesh Eaters (6-06) - Pretty basic dungeon crawl with good atmosphere.
The Frozen Fingers of Midnight (00-04) - Really good, varied fights, multiple options that make sense.
Scars of the Third Crusade (5-22) - Really GM dependent. It's an investigation that advances more based on time than on clues, which can make it frustrating for problem-solver-players, but it has lots of great room for a GM who likes to improv up scenes to bring it to life. I'd never suggest playing it in a rigorously timed environment.
Library of the Lion (5-11) - I've run and played this one, and I really like it, but it's really atypical, and has a potential dead-end part way through, which I didn't run into as a player or GM, but I can see why people could get hung up on it.
Silent Tide: Has a couple fantastic set-piece fights, some interesting (but trivial to a proper skillsy character) puzzles, but doesn't have a lot of room for wacky player plans. The fights are also almost all reaaaalllly chumpy.
Trial by Machine (6-01): A great dungeon crawl with a Technology Guide bent and a hysterically killer end boss.
The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch: Almost really great, but it does its best to force combat as a solution to everything in a scenario that would've really benefited from multiple paths to success.
Grynt |
Thanks, sounds like I'd enjoy most of those...
I missed out on a lottery for The Frozen Fingers of Midnight a month or so back, when I first registered...sounded interesting then, and now I'm even more eager to try it...have to be on the lookout for that...

Okay - just weird coincidence

Have I ever mentioned that I have a STRONG dislike for the number "1"?

I feel your pain...was playing in a PbP over on BGG and during a key fight, as a group we had 8 straight attack rolls that were under a 6...and that was with bonuses...had something like 3 natural 1's in a row in that stretch...

Ouch. I hope we're not in for the same streak. D:

DAMMIT I DID IT AGAIN :( I thought I got that add-on running...

Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou. Narayan is the best bard.
EDIT: It would seem we ran off without our Rogue friend. Sorry, Gio, but Loamy is awfully keen to be useful now that he can actually do his job.... he's not BEING terribly useful, but y'know.
The Gardener: Hobbit of Justice |
Head's up, Gardener, wrong icon in the IC on your last post...just a head's up so maybe you can change it before the hour's up...
Yep, missed it. :/ Really sorry again.

No problem at all

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I'm going to be out of the country on business next week. I'll still have internet access, but I don't know what my schedule will be like. Bot me as necessary.
Narayan Singh |
PM Sent - Thanks for running!
Copper Tam |
Thank you, it was a fun adventure!
Narayan, I gotta stick with you for a bit and learn a bit more about being a monk. (Leveling up, becoming Inq1/UMk1)
Gardener, for going through all that, you get a kiss on the cheek.
The Gardener: Hobbit of Justice |
"Why thank'ee, Miss Tam."
He bows low hiding his blushes, sweeps his hat onto his head, and ambles off into the night.
GM 8574 |
Hi, team. Sorry for the delay. I was hoping to get it to you over the weekend, but we got the distressing call that my wife's brother died suddenly, with no warning, at age 40. He leaves behind a wife and two children, and we're all devastated. I'm getting things back together now, should be soon.
Grynt, happy to share that this scenario grants 509 gp.
If you want a blank copy of the sheet for now, please click here. I couldn't get a pdf editor to work here at home (other computer issues got in the way), so I'll print some at work tomorrow, fill them out, then PM each of you with the link to the filled file.
Again, sorry for the delay. I'll be in touch soon.
Narayan Singh |
I'm so sorry to hear that! What a terribly difficult time for you and your family. Please do keep your priorities with your loved ones where they belong.
GM 8574 |
Thanks, all. It's been a rough week, but we're making it so far.
I'll be sending you PMs this morning with links to PDFs of your Chronicle Sheets. Apologies again for the delay.
Copper's Day Job(Profession(Sailor)): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Copper, since dice rolls don't work in the PM, let me know if you want to accept the roll above or make your own roll. If you make your own, I'll update your Chronicle Sheet to reflect that roll instead.
I hope that I can start up the next Scenario for you in July. Please let me know if you have a preference among the following, maybe give me your top 2 choices:
- 0-4: The Frozen Fingers of Midnight
- 0-24: Decline of Glory
- 1-35: Voice in the Void
- 5-1: Glass River Rescue
- 6-1: Trial by Machine
- MODULE: The Godsmouth Heresy (counts as 3 scenarios)
Copper Tam |
Not a problem, I accept the roll.
Wishing the best for you and your family.
I've been thinking about sending Copper through the Glass River Rescue, since her background is that she was raised in a Razmiri orphanage in Absalom and is (ostensibly) a Razmiri inquisitor. As you can tell, though, she hasn't fully drunk the Kool-Aid. It might make for some very interesting RP. Another character of mine has gone through the Godsmouth Heresy, though, so can't join for that.
Grynt |
Another of my characters just did Glass River Rescue and it is a good one so I'd have to bow out for that one (but I'm good with that as it'd be a fun scenario for y'all)...I'm fine by any of the others but have always wanted to do Frozen Fingers of Midnight but I think Narayan mentioned having done that one...
Narayan Singh |
To avoid chronicle/character juggling difficulties for myself I'd vote Voice in the Void followed by Decline of Glory
