"Hand her over..."

Zirt frowns. "Would you... sir, surely you understand our reluctance? Would you allow one of us to administer the potion?"

Blackjack places her down neatly.

"Alive and well"

Runewolf gestures for his men to close in and he kneels down to administer the potion.

Parani wakes with a sputter, her eyes wild and panicked. "What? Where?"

Her sight settles on the party. "Them! They attacked me! Arrest them!"

The captain raises a brow and returns his attention to the party. "Do you have any evidence support these accusations you've made against one of my guards? At this point it's her word against yours..."

"Of course we do!" exclaims Zirt in outrage, producing one of the letters to the woman that they'd found earlier. "This is a copy of a letter that we found, addressed to this woman! Just read it! Go ahead, read it!"

The ulfen man takes the offered missives and looks them over closely. His expression quickly changes from frustration to actual anger.

"Do you have any other evidence that can back up this paperwork? Witnesses perhaps that can corroborate?"

"Attacker her? I am sure a marketplace with passers by that saw us getting filled full of arrows would beg to differ... but here, don't just take our word for it..."

Blackjack spills the beans. The trade papers, the missing documents in the evidence room, the conversations, the arrow found etc... hang her out to dry. Oh and the uniform and papers etc

Lady Noh raises her hand with a calming gesture.

"Aldrea, it would be best if you were to put your weapon away," she says in her soothing Minkaian voice. "Captain," she continues after a moment. "Parani Akar is guilty of several murders, and we have uncovered several witnesses to her crimes. For some time now, she has been preying on religious residents of the God's Market who buy and sell items of divine significance. She is a god-hating woman who hails from Rahadoum and uses her position as a Greycloak to carry out her personal crusade against worshippers."

"Fortunately, we were able to apprehend her, as we are concerned citizens of the city who believe in helping those less fortunate people she has been hunting. She will likely reveal this crusade if she is questioned. If not..."

She points to the sniper's nest. "Consider that we found her hiding in that, in broad daylight. It is unlikely that she placed herself there with peaceful intent."

Oh no, everything's happening so fast! I'm behind!

Runewolf sighs and his anger melts away. He suddenly sounds very tired.

"Arrest her", he says with a gesture at his men closest to the still prone Parani.

She writhes and shrieks even in her wounded state. "What?! No!? I'll kill you fools! I'll kill you!!!!"

Conclusion to come.

By the end of the day, the party is exonerated of any wrongdoing thanks mostly to the great deal of evidence that was gathered to convict Paranti, the corrupt Graycloak. With so much overwhelming proof of her guilt, Parani is quickly tried and convicted for her crimes. Word of the evenhanded way the party handled the investigation spreads throughout Absalom’s guards and much of the tension between the Society and the local guard in Absalom eases in the weeks to come.

Both Ambrus Valsin and Grandmaster Torch, separately, congratulate the party for the successful mission and for proving, even if it was just this once, that Pathfinders can be more than reckless vigilantes.
