Castiel of Fangwood |
I'm back. Busy as h@!!, but back. FIrst time playing a bard. it takes 3 rounds uses of my bardic music to fire up inspire courage, yes?
Nothing so complicated, each round you use it (including the round you start) = one round of use. It takes a standard action to begin a bardic performance (at this level) but a free action to maintain it.

"TWANG!"
The sound of Edwin's shortbow echoes as the self-declared detective pops an arrow at one of those remaining to fight.1d20+3; 1d6
"Here now, I'm supposed to be the one giving the inspirational speeches!" He declares towards Castiel as his arrow flies. "But it's entirely rude of these brigands not to give a fellow a chance, what?"

The arrow plinks off his target's armor.
Nigel!!! Eidolon!!! Huzzah!!!
Art |
Nigel waves his monstrous companion forwards, "This rabble grows tiresome. Azzulzu, encourage them on their way!". Azzulzu strides forward on unnaturally long legs, past the towering bulk of Myron, to do his master's bidding.
Azzulzu advances to F5, and makes a bite attack on the bandit in F4. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7; 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5.

I don't like this "waiting for one dude to take his turn" initiative. It works in Aubrey's game, but I think it's so far been a menace.
I wanna go back to my old way i.e. whoever shows up and hasn't attacked this particular round can go whenever.
So they just went, and it's group's attack.
Edwin won't show up til Sunday night anyway. And Wod's been gone a while...

right on....sounds like the beginning of Caddyshack.

I just run with 'whoever posts gets the swing.' We all have issues right now, if Nigel doesn't get the killing stroke because I didn't post quick, then someone else can have it, no foul here.
Nigel directs his toothy minion to close on his antagonist
"BITE AZULZU! DESTROY THIS RUFFIAN! BY THE UNNUMBERED NAMES OF THE GOAT OF ABYLYDOS! SEND HIS BLACK SOUL WINGING INTO THE MAELSTROM!"
Lady Alinya Gurov |
Alinya is completely confident that either Wod, Azzulzu, or Darias will finish off the remaining bandit, and her mind turns to other considerations.
"Do you think we should turn these bandits in to the local count? It seems... messy... to just leave corpses here as a warning to others? Does anyone have any manacles?"
Lady Alinya Gurov |
Alinya claps as Myron dispatches the final bandit. "Bravo, sir! Now, lets see what we can do about getting Castiel back on his feet."
So we're half way towards a wand of CLW, which would be handy about now. Because otherwise all I've got is channeling. Heathy, am I OK to channel healing without waking up a bunch of unconscious bandits?

Might be worth dragging Castiel away before you heal him. Or, if you want to heal the unconscious and dying bandits, make sure they're all tied up and/or under guard first.
Myron Swackhammer |
"Ghnnng... I.... Uh, ah, here you go." Recovering from the side effects of his potion, Myron kneels down next to Castiel and pours a small quantity of murky liquid into his mouth. "Drink this - it tastes like crap, but it'll make you feel better."
I'm using my Cure light wounds extract. Castiel recovers 6+1=7 hit points.

yeah. in combat might be a different matter, but there's time to pile them by the side of the road out of the way of help.

Castiel looks much better as his horrible wounds heal back together.
Castiel of Fangwood |
“Guurk!”
Castiel coughs and splutters, then sits up, wiping his mouth. “My thanks Myron,” he says, climbing unsteadily to his feet. “And to you Lady Alinya. I overestimated the cowardice of these thugs. I am sure that Pharasma is charming and fair, but I have no desire to meet her just yet.”
Edwin Drood |
Edwin points at the now-shaking 'lady-in-distress' on the side of the road.
"Ghoulshakes. A disorder of the brain. I've not actually seen the effects myself before, but the symptoms are hardly mistakable. Also, I believe her condition is being complicated by her slipping into shock. Lady Alinya, if your done patching up the others, your assistance is needed here I think." He says, stepping back out of possible attack range by the supposedly helpless female bait.
"Judging by her general appearance and lack of obvious abuse, she was a willing participant in this ill-planned charade. He pronounces it "Shah-Rahd". I surmise that they have not been at this long, or surely they would have received a sound thrashing before this. Judging by the reaction of our female 'friend', they weren't used to any real resistance." He shakes his head in what might be sympathy.
EDIT- Ah, NOW I know what PRions are. THX Wikipedia! :) (And, ewww!) ;P
Lady Alinya Gurov |
"Hmm. She doesn't look well at all, does she? What's your though - we could patch her up and deliver her to the sheriff in Ravengro. She might also be able to answer some questions - or might know of any other interruptions on the road."

She looks down at the road, and smiles dementedly.
All she says is "I....I plead my belly...."
and then she begins tittering.

"Ah. How original." Edwin comments, his tone clearly indicating his sarcasm.
"How shall I phrase this delicately? 'Pleading one's belly' is a common way for female criminals to escape one last dance with Johnny Noose by claiming to be with child." He explains with a slight bow to Alinya.
"A ruse. Obviously. And yet she has made the claim, it would be, dishonorable, to deny that it is at least possible." He sighs.
"And I was so looking forward to a nice, boring carriage ride today." He adds to no one in particular.
Castiel of Fangwood |
“Well, we have a priestess of Pharasma, goddess of birth and death with us,” Castiel notes. “I’m sure she should be able to verify the claim.” Castiel waves his hand in a vague gesture. “However one does these things.” To Castiel, pregnancy and birth are very much mysterious ‘women’s issues’, and he’s a little bit fuzzy on the details on anything after the point of conception.
