Flights of stairs ascend and descend to this large atrium. The ceiling above the landing is open to the floor above, while doors on the south and east walls of the atrium allow access to other parts of this floor. Short messages have been written above three of the doors. The air in this room smells strangely acrid.

[ooc] The second eastern door says "Lab 1: Alchemy", southern door "Lab 2: Fluid Siphoning Research," and southeastern door is marked "Lab 3: Gaseous Ooze Research."

Does only Chakos take the damage, or everyone?

The wooden and metal furnishings of this room have been smashed to pieces. The fragmentary remnants have been arranged into spiky piles throughout the room, while the bones of a long-dead dwarf lie in a mangled heap at the far side of the room.

A creature of air and smoke with barbed tendrils hovers in the center of the room.

Astra frowns a little as she looks around, going over the spiky piles and the dead dwarf, before finally settling on the creature of air and smoke. "Anyone speak Auran, by any chance?" she asks, making the assumption that it is some sort of creature from the elemental plane of air. She tries to pick up on its details, whether she can identify the specific sort of creature that it is.

If anyone tries to cross the threshold into the room, she puts an arm in front of them to try and stop them. "There may be some sort of wards in place." She looks around to try and determine if there's anything keeping the creature in this room.

She tries to greet the creature in a few languages she knows, saying "Greetings" in first Taldane, then Androffan, and finally Abyssal.

The creature is a Mihstu, an air elemental. Both Astra and Liz may ask one question about it.

It is evil. Neutral evil.

There do not seem to be any wards in place preventing the creature from leaving the room. It remains floating in place however and doesn't make any movements to your appearance. It also doesn't respond to Astra's words at all.
