Well there are spells that can summon beings such as elementals for a short time. If I memorize such a spell, I could order it to blow away the fog, but then I will have to choose which spell to cast such as protecting against flame or against all spells in a 10' radiusLesser Glove of Invulnerability

Syvlara keeps her bow at the ready. She prepares to shoot through the open door if she sees a machine.


Dust-covered shelves crammed with all manner of books and scrolls line the walls of this enormous curving library. A large desk, its top cluttered with scrolls and papers, sits at the western end of the room. A metal door leads to the south, while north of it a second door stands slightly ajar, revealing what appears to be a reading nook.

Liz is enraptured! Such a treasure! We must search this room thoroughly once we are secure enough.

Astra does a brief search and browse through the materials to see if anything sticks out at her. She also casts detect magic to see if there's anything magical present, doing a 360 degree turn around to examine the room fully, and concentrating further if she detects anything.

Chakos nods and opens the door to the small room.


The back of this cozy room contains a low bookshelf with a few papers on it and an overstuffed leather chair. The room is coated with a thin layer of dust and has a slightly sweet smell.

Astra looks around.

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24


Liz enters the room alone. As soon as she stands by the desk, the door shuts closed, you all hear gears and a locking noise, and gas floods into the room from metal pipes in the ceiling.

Astra follows after but the door closes in her face.

Liz can make a Fort Save DC 19 to not fall asleep from the gas.


Ibuki tries to open the door again.

Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Zzzzzz.


Liz must make a Will Save, DC 19, or be affected by the smoke/gas.

Ibuki picks at the door trying to open it. He feels like he is making progress on the elongated rectangular door, but it refuses to budge. The inner workings of the airtight barrier seem to be interlocked, a bit harder to open than an average lock.

In the dream state smoky tendrils wrap around your body. You feel them constricting around your throat and stomach, legs and arms. In the darkness, Furkas Xoud appears, grinning. "The things I will do to you, rat. Perhaps I will take your mind and you will join my army, forever."

Behind him you can see metal creatures glowing with arcane power.

Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 6
You are fatigued and cannot regain spells for 24 hours. You are also helpless.

Astra helps Ibuki open the door. Inside you see Liz slumped against the desk, asleep. She is sweating profusely.

Syvlara, though worried, holds firm. She keeps her eyes open for any kind of enemy attack, and lets the others take care of Liz.

"Elizabeth! Wake up!" Astra slaps the wizard's cheeks with her hand several times, and if that doesn't help, then she tries to diagnose what might be wrong with Elizabeth.
