Kurglunn, not being in any way interested in facing this terrifying new threat alone, runs the other way and strikes at the monk facing the Hound.

@ Oren: No I don't think Inspire courage is still active even with lingering performance
Oren first swing catches her opponent unprepared causing a large gash on the man's shin, it's still not enough to kill him though.
In the other room battle rages on as Kurglunn unleashes his ectoplasmic fists at the other monk, who's able to avoid them. Not so with Morricone's blade slashing his torso and spilling a lot of his blood on the Fantasmagorium's floor.

Both of the monks retaliate, desperation evident in their eyes!

Startled by the monk's persistence, Lirotha reacts by instint slashing at the man with her starknife. A look of disbelief spreads on the asmodean's face as she cuts his throat. He clutches it trying to stem the blood's flow but he quickly falls bleeding out on the floor.

Once it's evident Lirotha's killed the monk Oren and Valrani run towards the sounds of fighting coming from the other side of the wall but it's soon apparent there's no need for that as the Hound headbuts the other monk into oblivion and the combined onslaught of Morricone and Kurglunn attacks makes short work of the enemy's leader.
Combat over - 3 crits in a row hurt a lot! XD
-On each of the fallen monks (which means the loot is multiplied by 4): they had nothing of value on themselves. Are Asmodeans with vote of poverty a thing now?
-On the zombies: All of the zombies wear burned nobles’clothing, but two of them still wear Victocora signet rings baked onto their charred fingers. What this means you can only imagine
Well, you survived an ambush with only a few minor wounds on Talon (-13) and Kurglunn (-8). Well done! What now?

Lirotha Karsani |

After renewing her dancing lights spell, she moves over to the hurt Talon/Hound and thumps him in the ear with her Healing Hex!

"Next time...can we NOT use the explosive weapons when we're trying to sneak around?"
She turns to the others and sighs.
"I think we were so loud, Asmodeous himself heard us down in the 9th hell. Rocco, you and Kurglunn go grab any loot you can find on these enemies! The rest of you...we still need to go check the rest of the building and then get out of here quickly before more enemies arrive!"
Unless the scroll on the enemy leader is informative to us, rather than magical, we will worry about it and the rest of the loot later.

_Valrani |

Valrani quickly checks the bodies for any sign of magical auras.
"We still need to find a way down... There must be a basement here somewhere."
She examines the dead nobles "Did Victocora oppose the current regime?"

Lirotha Karsani |

Lirotha nods easily as she begins to move away from the scene.
"I think that's implied by the fact that the current regime was trying to eliminate her 'faction' completely and without any traces..."
Suddenly, in a hurry to leave the room, Lirotha hustles into the next revealed room of the Fastasmagorium to see what she can see!
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

The Hound Of Kintargo |

The Hound nods a thanks to Lirotha for the healing then reaches into his belt and pulls the stopper on a vial to get a little extra healing, just in case.

The heavy mace, vials of water and scroll appear to be magical in nature to Valrani's expert eye.
Once Lirotha reaches the room previously occupied by the zombies and their asmodean masters she notices how the room’s shelves and displays seem more akin to those one would find in a storefront than a museum. While the shelves are relatively empty, what rubbish remains on them further supports the conclusion that this was once some sort of shop. Four long tables in the middle of the room seem to have seen more recent use, their surfaces cluttered with papers and objects.

Lirotha Karsani |

Searching and collecting the materials.

_Valrani |

"Either we have the worst luck, or we have attracted attention. Either way, you are right and we need to keep moving. What about the entrance this lot must have gone through. Shall we try there?" asks the druid.

Lirotha Karsani |

Lirotha will check the alcove to the West first, then move on to the next are to the east if it looks clear.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

The Hound Of Kintargo |

"No one venture out on their own. If you must, travel in pairs at the very least." The Hound warns then jogs up to Lirotha to accompany her.

Oren Mitabu |

Oren follows the explorers knowing her mutagen is getting close to expiring for the day.

![]() |

Lirotha explores the halls but nothing more can be found. As she searches the place she notices how the room's shelves and displays seem more akin to those one would find in a storefront than a museum. While the shelves are relatively empty, what rubbish remains on them further supports the conclusion that this was once some sort of shop. Four long tables in the middle of the room seem to have seen more recent use, their surfaces cluttered with papers and objects.
This was probably the place where the asmodean redactors amended texts to impose Thrune's version of history. There's still another room to explore to the north though.
Edit: @Oren: consider your mutagen expired

Lirotha Karsani |

Once our people have re-grouped in the 'shop' Lirotha will move to the big door behind the counter (or is that an archway?) and keep looking for any sign of the woman we came here to find!
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

![]() |

@Lirotha: Intelligence check, please
Overturned desks and scattered paperwork cover the floor of this large workroom; doors hang open on the walls to the southeast and northeast to reveal empty offices, each containing a number of bedrolls and supplies.
It seems like these used to be administrative spaces for the Fantasmagorium's staff, recently converted into sleeping area by the Asmodeans.
There's preciously little of value here besides a book you find in the northwestern area titled "The History and Future of Humanity", obviously an arodenite text. Checking it out you find that the inside cover holds a short note reading."Turn the eye to spell the
name of the Master of Masters"
Give me a Knowledge (religion) check...

_Valrani |

"There was an odd eye on the statue further back wasn't there?" notes Valrani.
"No idea who this maker of masters was though. Maybe we should go back and see if there are any words around it."

Rocco Hardweather |

"Yeah, I don't have time for all that religious stuff. Aroden...Asmodeus...whatever. It's all just following someone else when you could be making yourself stronger." Rocco sifts through some of the papers, looking for any thing else of interest, but he quickly gets bored and switches to checking out the stuff they had grabbed from the Asmodeans.

Oren Mitabu |

Oren's vitality seems to visibly drain from her as the time expired on her alchemical boost. "Well, I guess it lasted long enough to clear out this floor. Not too shabby, but I have to work on finding a way to make it last even longer," she says, mostly talking to herself while the others skitter around checking items, looking for clues, etc.

The Hound Of Kintargo |

The Hound looks around in silence after loading both his musket and pistol and then holstering the pistol and slinging the musket over his shoulder.

Lirotha Karsani |

Int: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Sorry guys! Holiday weekend and all here in the states!
"Somebody check that closet, since we don't want to miss anything. Turn the 'eye' to spell Irori's name? Irori has TWO 'i's in his name...could that be what the note is referring to? The statue we found was of Aroden, right? The Dead god? Desna give me strength to figure out these damned riddles!"

_Valrani |

"Is there an enscribed "I" somewhere? Or a hypehn maybe, turning that would move it into an "i" shape."
She thinks.
"a sentence like.. 'Jane thought he was debonair or - something sophisticated anyway' That would like Irori's name with a I that needed to be rotated."

![]() |

You go back and check the statue again. You notice that the pupil of the winged eye on the statue’s chest can be rotated, and that several tiny runes are carved around the pupil’s circumference. A single faint divot on the upper edge of the iris points to one of these runes, which are the letters of the Azlanti language. Seems like the Iris can be used to spell out names.

Lirotha Karsani |

"Rocco, do you mind having Kurglunn carry the two remains for now? I fear this will break the will of our poor friend. Let's try the statue now! I think we have what we need to finish this. Be ready! Anything could come at us once this...whatever it is...is opened my pretties!"
Lirotha will gather everyone around the statue and try to spell out Irori's name using the eye-device on the statue.
Linguistics-Just to make sure I get the Azlanti runes correct!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Rocco Hardweather |

"Sure thing. K, you hear that? You got some lifting to do." Kurglunn woefully moves over and picks up the remains, carrying them over his shoulder like sacks of flour.
