Game is CLOSED for recruiting.
Now that I've received the Scenario, I've made separate PDF copies of each of the Pregens, and I wanted to open the floor to allow you to begin to pick the one you want. All of them are Elemental Themed, and there are some special twists involved with all of them I want to save for once you have already picked the one you want to go with, so, I want to hold off actually showing the Character Sheets themselves until everyone has picked.
There are 6 Pregens to choose from. I'll also include a few notes and a general role for the character:
1.) The Ambitious: tank
2.) The Catastrophe: divine ranged jack-of-all-trades
3.) The Disgraced: mage and support/crowd control
4.) The Enigma: full of surprises
5.) The Loyalist: tank and support
6.) The Professional: jack-of-all-trades and striker
Since we seem to have 5 players: (unsure if there is a sixth)
1.) DM Snider
2.) GM Termoil
3.) CariMac
4.) Enchanter Tim
5.) Pirate Rob
For now, I'll let folks pick what they want to go with. (All of them look pretty awesome, and don't seem to be the typical Pregen with poor choices in their builds, so don't let it fool you).
If there ends up being a conflict and people just can't find a way to work it out, I'll do a roll off.

Saw the post you just made DM Beckett, I'd like to join in on this game using the catastrophe.
Welcome aboard. It's not required to have a full table, but I'd like to offer all available seats to help the Game Day be successful. As soon as I get confirmation from the last player and/or which Pregen everyone is going with, I'll go ahead and post a link to them for everyone.
Also, if you have not already, please go to the Gameplay Thread to "dot".

I was thinking when we got the last player or 2 days before the game starts, but seeing as that everyone has really already claimed one character, why not now.
Please, using the honor system, only look at your character, as they do have special secret goals and missions.

Reporting for duty, if you will have me, DM!
Sorry, it was late, and my computer's keyboard's Spacebar is broken, so I couldn't type much when I responded, but you are most certainly welcome.
There are two things I want to share, now that we have a full table.
Serpents’ Ire presents a rare opportunity in the Pathfinder Society Organized Play campaign to portray evil characters. Even so, it is important that players exercise some restraint. After all, one can be deviously villainous without being a reckless sociopath. Some of the pregenerated characters might even be willing to take extraordinary—arguably heroic—risks in the name of their cause and comrades. Even members of the Aspis Consortium know when to set aside their rivalries and get a job done. Let evil alignments flavor the adventure, not spoil the fun.
When running this in a public setting with strangers, let the players know that the fundamentals of the organized play campaign are still in effect: don’t kill each others’ characters and don’t be a jerk <to other Players/Player Characters, F' NPCs>. If everyone in the group is already a friend, you might consider relaxing these rules; while everyone is getting settled, discuss the option with your group and decide where the line is between evil and obnoxiousness.
No matter what, be mindful of your audience, and be prepared to rein in the tone if anyone’s depictions of evil actions become too distasteful.
In the end, you’re an experienced GM. Use your best judgment, and keep
the game fun for everyone.
So, with that in mind, yes, keep in mind the normal rules/guidelines for PvP are in effect, but I do want to offer the opportunity to broach the subject for what is Off Limits. I'll start. Violence against children and animals is strictly off the table, though I'll be honest it doesn't come up in this scenario that I've seen. Nor does, well anything sexual. However, if anyone has any sort of issue with anything that playing an Evil character might lead to, now is really the time. You do not need to explain why, or go into any detail, but we do need to at least bring it up so everyone knows what not to do.
The other side of this is that part of the fun here is to be Evil, (not all PC's are actually Evil, but all are dark, and less than moral), and so pushing the bounds a little bit, within reason and good tastes, is ok, and a part of the fun. Additionally, something to keep in mind, though I honestly doubt this would become an issue, is that each of the characters does have a goal, and a reason to want to complete their task. Even if it's just money, fame, and the right to tell other's to deal with it and move on. It's really in everyone's best interests to at least wait until the mission is complete before stabbing another Aspis Agent in the back. :P
Secondarily, and I can not seem to find the exact quote, but I swear I'd read it somewhere, so instead I'll paraphrase.
If my character would normally be able to swap out spells prepared or something similar to that, making a different choice for the day after resting, can I do so with this NPC?
Yes. Yes you can. However, something to keep in mind in a metagame sense is that each of the characters was intentionally designed as they where in order to be able to overcome some of the threats and encounters they will face, and you as the player should have no reason to know exactly what those might be. So, yes, you absolutely can swap out spells, BUT, in doing so you may find yourself in a situation where you can not overcome a certain threat or encounter. Just be warned.
Now, with that in mind, I'm a little more open to thinking outside the box, so I'm less inclined to say "You fail, game over, here are your blank Chronicles" unless the scenario specifically says there is only one way to do something. So, while I'm more lenient, (at leas in my opinion), still, be cautious and mindful that the scenario was written around what the characters can actually be expected to pull off. :P
You have a blanket "Yes" for swapping out options that you can choose each day. Just make a small note so we know what's going on, but you don't need to ask.
And, it's not like failure here means you need to sacrifice your highest level character or anything, as rocks fall he/she dies,(even if currently in a game),no save, right?
:P

Pregen Alias |
As I have always found with you, this is fair and lenient.. most of all expectations are clear and concise. Nothing really to add to your restrictions, and if something does come up, I am sure it can be addressed without derailing anyones fun.
Just as a side note, I have played Marnarious in Serpents Rise.. I noted that there is some blurb in the header regarding this.

I still need to create my pregen. I doubt it really needs to be said, but I want to make sure we're clear at the beginning. The thing that is unacceptable to me: Sexual violence against anyone.

I would say that since children play and online has no way of telling actual age, the whole thing stay at a pg13 lvl

Ok. So it looks like I had been correct in how Pregens work. So, basically you have two options as far as applying credit:
- 1.) You can apply credit to a first Level character
2.) You can apply credit to any character of lower Level than the Pregen Played (in this case Level 1-7), which is then "held" until they reach the level of the Pregen played. (8th) Once your character reaches the correct level, the Chronicle Sheet is then applied in full on the spot, in the correct order need to be.
In option 1, you receive up to 500gp, 2pp, and 1xp, but do not receive any Boons until that character actually gets to the right level, (8th).
Something that has changed in the latest Guide is that you do need to pick who is getting credit up front, (because any conditions gained that are unresolved carry over to that character, and if your pregen dies, it counts for that character).

I agree. "PG13" can be a little bit open to interpretation, so lets instead say that we are playing with a 5year old.
I haven't read the entire thing yet, but I don't believe that anything sexual comes up, but yes, no sexual violence.

Can I get everyone to post the following information for me please, (for how you want it to appear on your Chronicle Sheets or needed for reporting):
Player Name/Nickname
Character Name you will be applying credit to
PFS ID you will be applying credit to, (and please note if this is going to a Level 1)
Downtime/Day Job Roll (If your Pregen has a skill that is allowed)

![]() |

That kind of sucks about having to be lower level now. When I played Serpent's Rise, which is played with level 7 pregens, it could be applied for full credit to any character between 6-8.
Does it have to be a character that is not currently in a game? I wouldn't see why it would matter if it's being held for a few levels anyways.

![]() |

As far as I know, that only applies if you are actively playing that character and then want to play that same character at the same time in a different game. To be honest, though, you always had to apply it to a character that was lower level than the Pregen, it just worked slightly different.
If you play a non-1st-level pregenerated character, you choose one of your characters to assign the chronicle to at the end of adventure, and then apply the credit to your character as soon as she reaches the level of the pregenerated character played. You may not assign a Chronicle sheet earned with a pregenerated character to a character that was already at the level of the pregenerated character or higher.
It doesn't help that there was a poster that put out an large post that sounded very official about how Pregens work sort of step by step, that was totally wrong, but so many people took it as fact and a lot of misinformation spread, or that all of the information for using Pregens had been all over the guide.
It's one of the many issues with the new Guide though, as up until then, you didn't pick where to apply credit until the end. Now, until they change it, you have to pick up front, which causes all sorts of issues, especially as one of the primary reason (at least to us) for playing a Pregen is that your characters are unavailable. So I don't know. It's been asked, but never answered, and we still don't have a true Season 8 Guide.

I want to apply this to Ariana. Will that be ok?
Player Name/Nickname Carimac
Character Name you will be applying credit to Ariana
PFS ID you will be applying credit to 110249-3
Downtime/Day Job Roll (If your Pregen has a skill that is allowed) Day Job None

Falth, The Catastrophe |

I am ready to bring some unfortunate... "accidents" to the Korholm Agenda.

Sorry, super busy and late work day, and I wasn't able to look into it. I do remember seeing something a little more RP orientated for characters and pregens along those lines, and everyone does get an old school "Faction" Mission, but I'm not sure if there is anything more. Once I get settled in and the kids to bed, I'll read into it a lot more and start on some last minute prep.

Pregen - Enchanter |

You know, it doesn't matter. I'll use this character all the same:
Player Name/Nickname: Enchanter Tim
Character Name: Torean Spellbane
PFS ID: 1142-4
Downtime/Day Job Roll: Craft Blacksmith: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

There are some tidbits if people have played prior scenarios, but it doesnt matter if its the same Character you apply credit to, or the same npc you are playing now.

Beginning a very long initial post now.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give a head's up, I'll be away Fri and Sat for my grandparent's funerals. I do not believe I will have internet access most of the time, and likely will not be able to post, or check the game during that time. Please feel free to RP a little, introduce yourselves, and the like and we will pick up late Sat or Sun. I do not expect this to cause an issue with the time frame for this Slot 2 Game.
Also, just in case, I've been dealing with a lot of games, if there are any questions I missed or didn't answer fully, or if you have any questions about the set up, feel free to ask and I will get to it.

![]() |

Thank you all. I'm back now, and things are going ok. Getting back in the saddle again.

![]() |

Sorry everyone, I got hit with a class and a lot of extra work I had to do on the spot. I'll try to get a post in today, but most likely I will have to wait to do much until Sunday, after which it should be smooth. I will be in the field Monday and throughout the week, but I should be back home fairly early each day, and that shouldn't be an issue. Assuming I have internet on my phone, will probably even be able to update from there.

![]() |

Thank you. I'm cognizant of the possibility of "ruining" the special, so I'm going to make as much of an effort as I'm able to keep this from happening and the game running smoothly, as well as the time limits.
