Realizing that Calla needs a moment, Bruendor steps into the spot she just vacated. "Don't know where you think you're going, but it's not after her," he says, slashing at him with Bloodbane to buy her some time, if not end him.

I assume Calla took a 5' step to AB-24. That would let me take a 5' step into her spot, and make a full attack. The Second Son would need to take an actual move action to get to her (which means he only gets one attack), or attack me. Since she goes after me, though, that means I delay until her action, and then I go. I'll put my actions in here right now, but I'll be going after her action (which resolves above).

Bruendor turned and pierced Tiryin heavily with his enchanted rapier, dealing horrific wounds to the dark elf. Anklebiter's ray shot out and splashed across the spider, weakening it. Of course, the thing was so large, that the strength loss was barely enough to lessen the pressure on Lefrik's chest. The spider readjusted its grip, biting down even harder with the mandibles an using two of its legs to flense Lefrik's back and thighs.

Calla stepped back and fired a trio of arrows straight into Tiryin's chest. Two were deflected by the spinning blades, but the third bit deeply into the wounded drow warrior. The snarl on his face was replaced with a surprised looking "oh" as he fell to his knees, and then to the cold hard stone of the cavern floor.

Kelendra moved in and healed Calla, the magical energies closing all but the deepest wounds.

Bruendor's attack missed completely as from the corner of his eye he watched Anklebiter heading for the gate. The spider lunged at Lefrik once more, grabbing him up in its mandibles, but not breaking the barbarian's tough skin. It held him in place as its legs raked Lefrik's body, doing minor scratches and small wounds. Then, the creature turned its head and its eyes glowed a purple color. A coruscating bolt of electricity shot across to catch a fleeing Anklebiter, wrapping the goblin in actinic lightning.

Shaking and twitching from the electric effects, Anklebiter looked up to the gate and his stomach fell as he realized that the gate wasn't open. It was just a blank archway.

R7:

Anklebiter takes 36 electric damage

Lefrik takes 3 hits for a total of 1 damage and is grappled.
Anklebiter totally saved Lefrik's life with those strength-sapping spells

That's more Molly's style than Anklebiter's. :p Goblins probably don't even have pr0n; they only infrequently care which gender another Goblin is. Granted, when they do care, they care intensely, but they're not as fascinated with it as, say, humsns. ;)

Lefrik tore himself free of the spider's weakened grasp even as more cursing came from Calla, after seeing her arrows skip off the creatures's armored hide once more. kelendra's spell only partially affected the monstrous spider as it skipped lithely aside, and then both e and Calla were in the middle of another volley of quarrels. Fortunately none of them pierced flesh, though one did get deflected near the nape of Calla's neck.

Anklebiter's spell barely affected the nimble spider, who easily avoided most of the wind and fire. It dodged easily from Bruendor's blows as well, its lack of strength not affecting its great agility. It clamped down on Lefrik once more, grabbing onto the big man's shoulder once more, and continuing to pummel him with those claws. The blows, though greatly weakened, stressed the already injured man almost to the breaking point.

Then, the beast looked up and its eyes glowed gray. A beam of gray rings lanced out across the intervening ground to strike Anklebiter. The goblin could feel his skin beginning to grow taut under the onslaught of magical energy.

Lefrik takes 5 hits for a total of 16 damage and is grappled.

My best guess at this point is Lolth. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. But I very much want to know. Hope someone can open this gate without AB.

Also, since Big brought it up, my rolls in this encounter: 3, 10, 6, 4, 12, 10, 17, 14, 18, 6, 2, 1, 7, 17, 2, 7, 6, 3, 13, 12, 13, 12, 1, 15. That's an average of 8.6...

Also, Big, don't forget I've got fast healing 2 going on. I think I'm down just 21 at this point (per my ongoing calculations).
