Corsario |
You wake up in a green glade, in a forest next to a river and some mountains. The wet grass and the smell lets you know you are back in the Material Plane, and it's a beautiful morning. A rainbow can be seen towering over the mountains. Birds sing.
But you are not yourself anymore. You are something, different. You feel changed... touched by something in the Dark Tapestry.
You survived the Thousand Breaths forest. You escaped The House at the End of Time. You traveled the escape between the planes.
You are now Mythic Heroes.
And you don't have any clue where you are.
Arv Akul'mar |
"Mmmm ... home? Grass... mountains... where are we?" Arv pushes himself up, and looks around.
He tries to shake off the fog. "Who do we have.. anyone seriously injured?"
Ni'Tir and Chimalma |
The touch of normal earth was electrifying, giving her great satisfaction as she ran her hand through the fresh morning dew covered grass. She had assumed they would have fell forever and couldn't quite remember how or when they got here...
Where here was...
With a light air she chuckled at Arv and whoever was nearby. "Didn't tink that would work so well... I am slightly hurt but Venetia needs more help den I..." She couldn't help but feel exhausted or exhilarated. It was hard to tell... She felt changed, perhaps the first world had something to them, what though she was unsure of yet.
Venetia Medvyed |
"I'm still alive, I think I fared better then our king." Venetia says, looking at her charred hand gripping the King's sword.
Knowledge: Planes: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
She then looks around at her surroundings, but is still too wrapped up in that sudden change of events to recall anything.

A pang of pain raises in Arv's chest... Of the 16 people in the pavillion only 8 are in the glade... King Rupert's body is not there. Rhasadilara, Marius, Anton and Kaldwell. The Cenobitic Monk, Saul Magill, Rudolf Aldori... The losses were huge. Some of you are hurt, and Venetia unconscious...

I thought I came to in the Dark tapestry.
Venetia wakes up in time to feel the horrible pain of her charred hands, while falling into nothingness. She sees the beauty of the stars passing her by while she floats into the dark tapestry, the void between the planes, together with Danath and Xi'Tir, in complete silence...

Even if the normality of the material plane comforts Ni'Tir, she feels the loss of the unbounded strength of the First World. Not that she would like to return. She moves over and wakes up Venetia...
Corsario |
She then looks around at her surroundings, but is still too wrapped up in that sudden change of events to recall anything.
She remembers the dream... The images and sounds she had while unconscious on the Dark Tapestry fall. How she was in a huge chamber, filled with wonder and fright. Several essences, which she could only describe as Gods were there. And in the middle, broken, helpless and crying, a female.
Nyrissa.A booming voice filled the hall.
"Your lover has been banished to the nothingness of the emptiness. He is no more. Now is time for your punishment."
Nyrissa broken an sobbing voice raises.
"I only did what I did because I love him."
The booming voice continues.
"And because of that love you committed heinous crimes against us, and you thought yourself one of us. Your punishment willbe your existence. The love you had will kill you. You will exist without love, without comfort, without emotions, until the moment when you are reunited with your love, and in that moment you will cease to exist! "
Nyrissa shudders, making small noises as a hurt rabbit when her broken body is lifted and extended by invisible forces. Then a piercing scream leaves her lips as a light is ripped out from her chest... A light that starts to coalesce into a physical form... The form of a sword...
Venetia turns to see the sword in her hand. The sword of Rupert Surtova, burn into her flesh. The sword seems to have melted somewhat, and some spikes started to form on it.
Edeldhur |
Standing up, Edeldhur first tries to shake away the dizziness. Once that is ddone, he is confronted with the horror of what have passed - his parents, and his companions, dead or worse - dragged into servitude for that monstrous creature.
Their associations has been dramatically unsuccessful thus far - Things are going tremendously wrong - he thinks to himself, still trying to come to terms of all that has transpired.
-------------------------------------------------
Observing their surroundings is distraction enough for the time being, forcing his attention to more earthly affairs - Where are we? are the elf's thoughts as he scans the area around him, trying to find descriptive landmarks, or gauging the sun's position.

Obviously you are back in the Material plane... but where?
Edeldhur looks around. The flora seems like the one on Northern Avistan, maybe not so far the Stolen Lands... There are mountains towards the... north... not very big, but snow capped anyway. A forest... leaves are brown, and falling... it is Autumn here!
In the shock you also see some kind of ruined construction beyond some trees.
You party was on the night of 15th of Calistril, almost at the end of Winter.
Kiritta Narvagoth |
Kiritta awakes and looks around at the green grass. No giant trees, no crazed witches or worm sorcerers.
The Snakebite - Take a leap of faith. -- The cards never lie.
Suddenly she realizes that there are others about.
Where are we? How did we get here?
Kiri stands up and dusts herself off before looking at the others to see if anyone has an answer to her inquiry.
Corsario |
And when they tell of Marius treason, she also remembers the wanderer... Recognize friend from foe. Yes, the cards always tell the truth.
Ni'Tir and Chimalma |
Ni'Tir rises to her feet, feeling more powerful than before. She takes a look around, taking in the scenery, the distant land marks and the forest around them before she tried to assess where they were to the best of her ability.

"How long have we been gone for?" She touches the leaves, the maiden is past and the crone is coming before the rebirth... "How could we be gone so long."
Corsario |
You don't recognize the specific place, but it's a temperate forest, not unlike the Stolen Lands...the flora is the same... But the sun...it's late fall.
Kiritta Narvagoth |
Kiri suddenly notices the others looking at the sky.
Time is not the same in the First World. We could be 6 months from when we left, or 6000 years.
Suddenly Kiritta stops and thinks.
I wonder where my husband is? And all of your friends?
Kiri scratches her head and thinks for a moment. She then reaches into her backpack and takes out a small object carefully wrapped in a white cloth. She unwraps it and you see a beautiful silver mirror.
It will take some time, but I can attempt to see some of our companions. It would be easiest for me to see my husband. I do not know most of your friends as well, so it would be more difficult to reach across space and see them.
If nobody objects, Kiri will use Scrying to see Halcorg. The spell takes an hour to cast.
She will also cast Message to attempt to speak with him if possible.
Arv Akul'mar |
"I see that as time well spent...
Should some of scout out the rubble over yonder? Or should we spend some time to recover, and prepare for... whatever comes next... "
Arv checks himself, and the state of his supplies... and then nods. "An hour would be good for me it seems."
Szymon Wojcik |
Szymon slowly awakes thinking his companions conversation apart of the nightmare. He checks himself and his gear from routine and then looks for Rupert. He held the body when he jumped. He wanted to bury and honor it. Where is it? he wonders to himself. He stands examining his immediate surroundings then further and further away.

Danath Orlovsky |
Didn't realize the sword/her hand were melted together like that. My bad. Just assumed that the last thing she wanted was to lose the sword she just picked up. ;)

Danath stands, flexing his hands and feeling strange, how he couldn't place, but for some reason he felt far to restless to sit down. Marius's betrayal came as a great shock but he didn't show it. Resolving himself to bring an end to the traitorous hellknight if he dared to show his face again, which of course he would bent to the will of the Mad Tyrant Nyrissa...
He hoped that they would find their companions soon enough, but in what direction did they lie?
As Kiri casted her spells he approached Venetia. "Glad to see your up, how are you feeling?" He waves to whichever healer is closest so that they can take care of Venetia if needed.
Szymon Wojcik |

Corsario, what does Szymon remember about Rupert's body? He had it when they jumped.
Corsario |
Szymon remember, just before drifting into the eternal night, to lose grip of Rupert's body and see him float slowly away... Towards Venetia and the sword...

The architecture of the castle is really unusual, you have only once seen something like that...
All the rest see Edeldhur turn white as a paper, assume a defensive position and get ready to start casting a spell. Those are the Ruined remains of the House at the End of Time... Nyrissa's home.
Szymon Wojcik |
"Edeldhur, s'up?" Szymon asks his friendly reacting wizard. After all, what could be worse than the nightmare he just experienced?
Corsario |
Wake up to see you are still trapped in the nightmare :S
You hear a scream and seems something is going to come out of the ruins, running...
Ni'Tir and Chimalma |
Ni reacts to the screams looking towards the ruins and waiting to see what came out before choosing her next action.
Szymon Wojcik |
"Lovely." Szymon replies to his friend. "That implies that I didn't just awake from a nightmare?"
Venetia Medvyed |
"That was no nightmare, that was reality." Venetia says, holding up her charred arm which has become fused to Rupert's sword. "No mere nightmare could do this." As she speaks, a hint of pain is in her voice, perhaps the pain of having lost Rupert, or perhaps the pain of having her hand fused to his sword, you can't quite be sure.
"It seems that I however did have a dream, one that told me why Nyrissa is the way she is, she was cursed."
Venetia Medvyed |
How bad is Venetia hurt? Just asking so I can decide which way to heal her.
I'm really not sure myself, as as far as I can tell, there was never a number assigned or a specific condition mentioned from what Nyrissa did. Still missing some HP from fighting that dragon though. The encounter with the dragon left her at 50/80 with the +5 HP from the guardian tier that's 55/85 but as I mentioned, I'm unsure if Nyrissa did any hitpoint damage. Maybe a Heal check will coax some information out of Corsario.
Ni'Tir and Chimalma |
Being knocked unconscious I would assume she is at least at 0 Hp at least since she is conscious now. There are rules of becoming conscious even while negative but it's hard to do without a little help~ Just my two cents~ :)
Danath Orlovsky |
Danath rises to his feet and draws his longsword in one fluid motion. Intending to defend the injured Venetia with all the strength he had. He slaps his dragonhead visor down and rolls his shoulders as he loosens up for the coming conflict.
Without being too meta gamey, @Venetia/Corsario did Rupert propose that Venetia be his queen to everyone or was that a private moment for the two of them? Just to clarify my notes please~ Thank you :D
Ni'Tir and Chimalma |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
True that! Very good point as I didn't think of that~ We will just have to wait and see then. :( I think Janus should be able to Retcon his healing as Danath called someone over earlier. :) This is gonna be some fun!
Szymon Wojcik |
Szymon replies to Venetia with, "ouch." Then, he looks at Danath unsheathing his sword and closing his visor. Szymon surveys the surroundings looking for any enemies and waiting for whoever is running and screaming to emerge for the ruins.
Arv Akul'mar |
"Those ruins may hold the power of a petty god, but I am back in my world now... I will not wait to see who screams."
Arv moves toward the ruins, and grasps a vial from his bandolier. He feels greater power flow into the extract.. "Hmmm..."

Venetia's Wounds are grievous, her hands are charred and the metal melted with her flesh and bones. Only the fact her nerves are destroyed allow her to be conscious. No amount of healing would restore her.
But MYTHICAL healing is another thing altogether...
Yes, more story than actual mechanical effect. Any mythical healing will restore her.
Corsario |
Without being too meta gamey, @Venetia/Corsario did Rupert propose that Venetia be his queen to everyone or was that a private moment for the two of them? Just to clarify my notes please~ Thank you :D
Rupert was public and direct in his future intention of asking Venetia to be his queen. But he didn't actually propose, nor Venetia accepted.
Political intrigue starting... I love it ;)Danath Orlovsky |
Lady Venetia must survive to rule in Ruperts stead as he would have wished it...
Seeing Arv move forward alone didn't sit right with Danath and as Janus moved to tend to Venetia he knew she was in good hands speaking quickly before setting off. "I leave Lady Venetia to you Janus." He's very formal despite the tense situation they were in and he felt the surge of unknown strength driving him towards whatever was happening within the ruin alongside Arv.
Longsword drawn, ready for action! :)
Corsario |
I am D'ming Janus as he hasn't post
Janus sees Venetia charred arms and feels sick to his stomach. These wounds are outside his abilities to heal... or were outside his abilities, before jumping into the Dark Tapestry. He focus the blessings of Erastil and feels a power as he had never felt before.
Venetia's arms and hands recover her muscles and skin, the sword disentangling from her flesh, without her feeling more tan a slight tingle. Later they will see how she was almost completely healed, just a small scarring remaining.
You all see, from the ruins of the castle a middle aged woman with a young man, maybe 14 years old (probably mother and child) running towards you, her face covered in tears.
"Help us! Please help us! They want to kill us!"
Behind her some two dozen small humanoids get out of the ruins, running after her. They are hideous, and wear red caps on their heads.

And then you feel a wind of death blowing over the forest glade, and a large black dragon stands over a castle tower. His mere presence makes you fear his power.
