Looks like most of the party is 1 or 2, with a couple 3s. I'll bring my level 2.

No day job (is there anything on the Liberty's Edge faction card that uses day jobs?)
Liberty's Edge

Looks like I haven't done the level 2 build/rebuild for this guy yet, so some of this may change.

If you don't have a day job (like me!), us liberators can use Downtime to instead try to spending time organizing protests, freeing slaves, or distributing revolutionary material. You'd need a DC 15+level (so for you DC 16) Disable Device, Knowledge (local), or Stealth check

Didn't realize how much the Vigilante class had changed since the book came out--may be tomorrow evening or so before I'm done.

Sweet. That's an automatic win for Silver Warden here.

I think we will try The Wasp today. He has had a complete re-make since his vigilante origin, so we'll see how this goes.

That will be +3 Init and +6 Perception.
I think he's all ready. If someone wants to look him over and make sure I didn't mess anything up, that'd be great. I'm also open to any suggestions.

Everybody, but wakedown are here and the sheets looks ok. I've sent him a pm to remind him about the game.
Go to gameplay and start your introductions and questions.
I am applying 4 xp of GM credit to Ghaenk. I haven't payed him since 1st level and I have a few tweaks I'm considering before we start. I'll complete that this afternoon and update his profile.

I made a few changes: 1) my familiar added Emissary, 2) Swapped Snowball for Vanish & Mage Hand for Message, 3) changed my traits to Blade Bravado & Crowd Dodger, 4) corrected my rapier's damage from 1d4 to 1d6 as it was unintentionally originally purchased as small although it should have been medium, and 5) Changed my focus on Varasian tattoo to Transmutaion.
I'm good to go, now.
The Wasp

Sure thing, SW.
Here is The Wasp's spellbook:
Spellbook
Cantrips: acid splash, arcane mark, dancing lights, daze, detect magic, disrupt undead, flare, ghost sound, light, mage hand, open/close, prestidigitation, ray of frost, read magic, spark.
1st Level: burning hands, magic missile, color spray, shield, shocking grasp, silent image, frostbite, chill touch, true strike
I will copy: Expeditious Retreat, Grease, Hydraulic Push, Obscuring Mist, Unseen Servant. I believe that is 40 gp each for a total of 200, right?

Hmpfh. Spellbooks. They must not be able to remember very much at any one time. Probably not very intelligent.
In-character thinking, of course. No shade being thrown by me, Xichi's puppetmaster. :-)

Looks like I want:
burning hands, magic missile, shield, shocking grasp, silent image, frostbite, chill touch, true strike
From your spellbook. For 40gp each I'll have to wait until we get our chronicle sheets to afford it. Can it really be 40gp each? That's more expensive than buying scrolls. That can't be right. It looks to me like it should be free. Is this a PFS rule or something?

Actually the cost to copy the spell is in addition to purchasing a scroll, if that comes up. However, I did misread the table - level 1 spells cost 10gp, level 2 are 40gp.
| Oykiv |
To copy the spells you need to pay a little, think of it as special reagents and inks. The cost for level 1 is 10 gp, as the wasp as just said, and you must pass a spellcraft check DC 15+spell level, so both of you can autopass it taking 10 unless the Warlock Vigilante had any kind of opposite school (wich I don´t know).
Also, to copy a spell you need a source, it can be:
-A friendly PC, who doesn´t charge you any fee
-A scroll, which is consumed after copying the spell. You can buy them or find them in adventures.
-Another caster, who will charge you half the cost to write the spell into a spellbook. cheapest way to learn spell between adventures than than buying a scroll
You can check it in the core rulebook page 219

So while we currently seem to be waiting to see if the city guard, Derrick, can point us to the building we scried, here's how I see what's happening, along with thoughts on how to proceed. PLEASE add if I'm way off ofr you guys think something else - its sometimes harder to do quick summaries/tete-a-tetes in PbP:
**Our mission is to get funding for the Society's Worldwound expeditions. An additional or "secondary" ;) goal is to get not just funding, but military aid as well. Since Tercio Andares is an influential consul, if we get his favor we may sway some coin the Society's way, and right now finding his daughter and rescuing her could give us an 'in'.
**Regarding the troops, I think that Bryton, the Eagle Knight, may also be a good person to talk to. Perhaps we could try to sway him to our side either before we leave to find Thalia or after we return.
**Complicating matters is that both andares and Bryton seem a bit corrupt and collusion-y, to appearences at least. Out-of-character I suspect Thalia's disappearance may have been arranged by Andares himself, though in character Fimbir is a trusting sort :) If we find her first, its possible we might be able to uncover clues about how and by who she was taken, which could give us proof against someone. And proof equals leverage.
Does that seem right to anyone else?
Xichikitte
|
@Fimbir, well summarized. Thanks for doing that.
I agree with all of it. I think finding Thalia is our highest short-term priority, as we may learn from her more about the situation.
Aside from asking the NPC players (which I think we've done?), is there anything, aside from just wandering the countryside looking for burned-out buildings, we can do?

Just to be clear:
The initiative order looks to have changed, but it´s only becaus I grouped all the PCs so you can all post no matter if we´re in turn 1 or 2.
I´ll resolve the actions in order if it really matters (like Ghaenk risking to fall down), but if not and nobody asks for a delay or similar I´ll resolve as people post (with some leniency to change attacks if someone dies, as usual in PBP).

If the next map is in Google Slides then those of us who post from mobile devices should be able to move our tokens from our devices.

I'm going to be fairly scarce this week. My wife's father's health has taken a turn for the worse. He has been battling cancer for 2 years. Last week we were informed that it has matasticized into his stomach. He has been moved to hospice care. The whole faimly is congregating in Florida (we live in Kansas City) where her dad lives. I'll try to post when I can.
I will be home next Sunday and should be back to a regular posting schedule.

Don't worry about bad rolls, you wouldn't success or fail your negotiation based solely in a roll. It matters most what you said or not tell, She wouldn't offered herself to intercede with Tercio if you hadn't mentioned to want his help and also matters what you accept, now there's a clear proposal on the table, not the more ethic, but a proposal nevertheless.
Also, she's in mood to continue talking, so you can continue making answers, telling what will you want and refusing to take pesh and/or tea.

Thank you very much for GMing the scenario. I had a great time.
Reviewing the chronicle, I noticed a mistake. It was MY mistake. Above, I told you Ghaenk is Liberty's Edge. Most of my characters are. However, Ghaenk is Scarab Sages. Could you please fix my chronicle, sorry!
Thanks again.

Yeah, thanks a lot for running Oykiv. Fimbir got a chance to strike a blow for the little man! (little man in this case being an extremely wealthy socialite).
I'm sure I'll see some of you guys around in some form or other on these boards again. Until then, Explore, Report, Cooperate :)
