Ozak "Badaxe" Daggertooth |
Ozak listens to the strange words coming from the dead body with a frown and a raised eyebrow.
When the voice stops, he looks around. "Yeah, okay. That's good, right? Good. Let's get ready then."
Choot Othul |
Choot grins as once again, the wisdom of the Gods proves he and his advice the best course of action once more!
This is what the Orc should be. The Doomspeaker gives a smug smile as he surveys all from the right hand of the Chieftain...
Ready to do this!
Choot Othul |
I think if we could divine the terrain we could get a sense of how to use the terrain to ambush Giants and turn them to do our bidding. For now, I think we just go so that our people are not seen, if the Tribe is spotted that'll put them on edge and we don't want to do that.
Thoku the Bloodied One |
The chief grins as the two warriors stand firm in his gaze. Thoku stands and takes a step forward. "You a right to keep your steel in my gaze, you have brought me good knowledge that can be we can use to garner our victory. Step forward and take this gift" As the warriors step up and take a knee, the bloodied one flexes his massive claws that seam to give off a smoke like red aura. The in a swift motion he drives the claws into they're chest. A moment passes as the warriors skin takes a red hue and they take the gift of blood their chief has bestowed onto them.
Then the chief looks to his fist "So first lets make use of this great blade and take a few giants. We will need more information on the layout of the valley and any hidden areas we can use to trap them. Tell me where should we start"
sorry if its an issue Dragon just having a bit of fun with my character top get me back in the mindset of the bloodied one ^_^ hope thats ok
Kern Dead-eye |
Also ready.
Dragonofashandflame |
Mighty Thoku speaks, and his words are obeyed. As soon as the Burninga Angel is ripped from the blue cavern, slaves collapse the tents and pile them into carts and their backs and begin hauling them north beneath the whips of their drivers, each bearing the marks of Lanistra on their chest. They are a mighty horse! The dust from the warriors' marching feet chokes out the light of Sezelrian's torches! The smoke of their cook fires shrouds the Burning Angel, creating soothing shadow during the day.
The horde marches for ten and ten days, following the great river Esk to the north and west to the promise of war and conquest! Finally, on the last day, as Nulgreth rips the Burning angel from the great cavern, staining the roof of the world with her life's waters, the Trive of the Bleeding Storm crests a small rise and sees the Fort above them. It is a squat thing, carved of the swirling black and red rock of the Mindspin Mountains. It's towers and keep sit on a raised crop of land, next to a blood-red lake. They have arrived!
Choot Othul |
Choot turns to Thoku, "Mighty Chieftain I believe that now is the time for our deadliest Hunter to scout the terrain to find the advantage in where to ambush these Giants. He and his animals never fail!"
Choot Othul |
"We could take a small patrol. The Chieftain and I have magics that allow us to disguise ourselves quite effectively and infiltrate that way..."
Kin's Face Tattoo!
Thoku the Bloodied One |
The great chief ponders on the situation "No send scouts in every direction and when they return have them tell all they have seen in as much detail as they can to our earth carvers. i want a detailed layout of the area. If it comes to a fight i want as much tactical advantage as we can"
profession chief: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
want to have a very detailed diorama of the area so we can plan our troop movements better
Kern Dead-eye |
Kern nods at Thoku and sends Razorbeak into the air, seeing through his eyes to scope out the area in detail.
Dragonofashandflame |
Razorbeak takes wing and Grell darts off at their master's command. Behind them, six warriors pound their chests at Thoku's order, and rush off to scout the fort. By dawn, the warriors return. They speak of giants on the inner walls of the fort, at least twelve. The outer walls are manned only by orcs. They heard the roar of bears and the cheers of warriors as they made sport.
The outer walls are smooth, but they can be scaled if one is skilled and has the Rat God's own luck. The dam is a weak structure, and anyone with Varg's craft can break it Engineering check or a strength check. They could not get it, but they heard several warriors grumbling and cursing the giants of the inner fort.
Kern Dead-eye |
Kern nods. "We should make use of our new item, and gain control of one or more of the giants."
Jugag |
Kern nods. "We should make use of our new item, and gain control of one or more of the giants."
"They will be our slaves," Jugag said.
Choot Othul |
Shoot remains silent, death is on his mind this day.
Dragonofashandflame |
Who's going to use the greatsword? And, you want to attack during the day to get a giant. That put's the pure-blooded orcs at a "dazzled' unless you can find a way to prevent that. I think that's just Jugag and Choot, though, so it might not matter. Just making sure that's what you want to do. I'll move things along later tonight.
Dorian 'Grey' |
Did we have a day to prepare? Arkhan could have cast this http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/cloak-of-shade/
Choot Othul |
Choot would assume that the Chieftain would wield the Greatsword though I suppose Badaxe might be the most effective with the weapon. Choot is ready to go whenever the group is!
Ozak "Badaxe" Daggertooth |

Ozak is pretty tied up with his Grandfather's axe - it's kind of the point of the character.
GM: Is there any way to "steal" the enchantment from one weapon and transfer it to another?
Kern Dead-eye |
"My beasts have found us three ogres that we may be able to use to our advantage. They are not the most powerful of giant-kin, but they should perform adequately for our purposes. What do you think? Suggestions on approach, my Chief?"

There are rituals you could use. Maybe the Crone knows how it's done, or can point you in the right direction?
Choot Othul |
"The Ogres will see us as just another set of Orcs no doubt. We should approach them as craven as possible and then spring our trap upon them.
Best to disable them all and let the magic of the Blade take control of their minds. From there we can use them to inflame a fight between our people, or those who will soon be our people and the Giants.
In that confusion, when the wheat has been separated from the chaff, shall we strike. This is my counsel".
Kern Dead-eye |
Kern will cast barkskin when Arkhan does.
Dragonofashandflame |
ogres sense motive: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
Arkhan Bluff: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
Kern Bluff: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
Choot Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Thoku Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Ozak Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
Jugag Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
these are the dumbest ogres ever in the history of ever!
The Tribe of the Bleeding Storm approach the ogres with skill and craft of Verex's gift. They bear the false banner of the weaklings the Twisted Nail, and, though it shames them, the tribe hides their proud strength and banner, baring their necks as slaves of the giants. The ogres, barely more than stupid animals, laugh at the pathetic display, stoking the bloodlust and fury of the Bleeding Storm!
It is that moment when they strike!
Arkhan Silvinesti: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Choot Othul: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Surprise round! Everyone's up and has the drop on the ogres! After that. Round 1 order: Jugag, choot, kern, ogres, Arkhan, Thoku, Ozak.
everyone: cloak of shade for 5 hours no one takes penalties for fighting in the sun
arkhan: Barkskin 50/50 min
Kern: Barkskin 50/50 min
Kern Dead-eye |
Kern puts his hand on the famed hammer Agrimmosh, knowing that a true strike with it will reduce these giants to orc-size. He then uses Agrimmosh to cast enlarge person on himself. Lasts 20 minutes.
He then tells Grell and Razorbeak "Hold." He does not wish to send them into battle until we've had the chance to ready ourselves correctly.
Start of the round, Kern plans to command both his companions to flank and attack. Hopefully the wielder of the sword (I think it was the chief, correct?) will point out which of the giants he is going to try to convert before we start dealing them a bunch of damage.
Choot Othul |
Surprise Round
Choot unleashes a Ray upon the Ogres to sap their vaunted strength. Choosing the largest the black ray strikes the largest of the foes!
Ranged Touch 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 - Ability Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 - Fort save DC 13 for 1/2.
Arkhan Silvinesti |
So we have a surprise round then go into initiative?
Surprise!
Arkhan looks up to the skies. The Storm druid points at the lead ogre, causing a black cloud, filled with the flash lightning and the peel of thunder, to cover his brutish face.
storm burst touch AC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
nonlethal damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 plus -2 attacks for 1 round
Dragonofashandflame |
It's a regular masterwork greatsword damage. attuned with a +1 because of atunement. It forces the giant to make 2 saves. 1) DC 15 will save or the giant suffers the effects of Charm Person for 1 day. 2) DC 20 fort save or the giant suffers permanent domination. Failing the fort save still permits the charm. failing charm negates possibility of dominance. It has 3 charges: the sword can only be used to command/charm 3 giants at a time.
Jugag |
Jugag? Thoku? updating tonight,
Sure. Ask for an action. Make me play in a game I want to play in...
Jugag laughed as he struck his bow with a smaller bone and smoke rushed out of it.
Using the wand to cast gravity bow.
Ozak "Badaxe" Daggertooth |
I'll keep my +1 attunement on my Double Axe.
Ozak rushes at the ogre.
"Hear the song of Varg!"
Attack: +6 BAB, +5 STR, +1 Masterwork
greatsword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
greatsword damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 6) + 7 = 14
