Lucrezia gives Andrea two pouches of gold to lay down on the bet. "Andrea, each of these purses have 500 gold pieces in it. One bet is for me and the other is for your lantern bearers idea."
Andrea briefly stops by the exchange and enter Gerald's office.
Good morning sir, I am going to be engaged as an assistant to my friend Faelyn as he competes in the Devildrome and we will be placing some bets on the outcome. I am wondering if I could procure a loan of perhaps 500 gold to place as a bet. I can put up some collateral of some magical scrolls and a wand of Rusting Grasp and an enchanted morning star.
Perhaps you would be interested in betting as well?
He chuckles, "I've learned long ago not to bet on something that I'm not running the book on.' He nods, "500 gp is that all your requesting?"
Andrea nods. Yes, I am somewhat low on funds and don't want to get over my head.
While signing paperwork, Andrea quietly inquires. Has there been good news in establishing contact for getting my houseguest back to her family?
He signs his signature on the note, "Do your require coin or will my note suffice?"
"I've discussed this the matter with Lady Grulios and she assures me that it will be taken care of the child can go safely at their manor now."
Gerald looks out to the waiting room and see elf trying to blend in the corner and the large half-orc, 'New companions?"
Coin would perhaps be best, I have a feeling that sports such as this prefer nice anonymous payments.
Andrea will take the neatly stacked coins and secure it under her cloak. That is very good news. I will inform her of such as soon as I can and escort her there at the first oppurtunity.
Andrea will then take her leave of Gerald and rejoin the group for their destined meeting at the Devildrome.
Andrea then moves over to Shadow and Truk. Would either of you be interested in taking out a small loan to bet in the Devildrome?
"Come on in here," Gerald waves to the large half orc.
"You keeping her protected? he points to Andrea.
Truk looks around in confusion until he realizes the older man is calling out to him. Feeling rather foolish, the big orc hustles up to to the banker's location.
"Yes..., he says as if he was just realizing it himself. "I'm protecting her. I'm protecting all of them. Why, is someone here trying to hurt them?"
Truk growls instinctively.
"Can you sign your name? This is a note that says that I will loan you 300GP, but it must be paid back by the tomorrow, for a small interest rate of 7%, that means I get 321 gp tomorrow, after the victory. Should you lose the money then you can pay in four equal weekly installments but the interest rate is 10%" His tone matter of fact.
Truk stares at the man like he was speaking another language.
"So if I sign this, you'll give me 300 gold coins?"
He nods, "But you WILL pay it back."
Andrea quicly explains to Truk. Yes, sign the paper and you will be loaned 300 gold, but you must repay what he has loaned you and if the money is lost you will still need to repay the money and some extra.
The big orc nods at Andrea's explanation and shakes his head.
"Why didn't you just say so?"
Truk signs his name in big print across the noted location.
You find a pawn shop on the way to the safehouse, the owner frowns at the shield offered to him.
"I'll loan you 500 gold against the shield...to claim it you pay me 600 gold inside of 30 days. Otherwise, it hits my floor to sell." The burly dwarf testily growls.
We better be getting on our way folks. Faelyn appears a little anxious.
Truk growls and hands over the shield after carefully folding the straps.
"If I come back to get it and it's damaged, you're going to be the one hitting the floor", the big orc threatens.
The dwarf does handle the property with care. He gives you a claim ticket and the gold.

The group does eventually make it to the safehouse to pick up the bets and John, then you make it without further insult to the Devildrome. The crowd to get in is massive. You see carriages, fine horses, and armed guards. There are numerous sell swords and ruffians around, along with dandies and merchants alike all looking gamble and have good time.
You do note there are several more people lining the upper windows and streets protecting Rances's interests.
Here we go. Faelyn asks which way the participants are suppose to go to check in.
You get up to the ticket window and you are advised it's 25gp each to get inside, the single contestant is free of charge.
Andrea says a few prayers and girds herself for the upcoming trials.
Truk pats his empty purse and looks to the group's banker.
Faelyn casts mage armor on himself before he enters.
These people are my body guards. I was expecting for them to be free too since they will be aiding me.
Andrea facepalms. Assistants get charged as well?
Andrea digs out money for herself,Truk,Shadow,John,Orsin and Lucrezia.

Andrea does address Faelyn a bit earlier or when they get a chance. Just inform me when you want me to use a blessing on yourself or a summon. If the fight can be lured close to us, I can channel healing energy to heal your summons as well.

You see there appears to be a couple thousand people filing into the stadium. the risers are packed and you can see several luxury boxes surrounding the arena.
There are betting windows throughout the location and the games are heavily bet on. Over the first three hours you see a couple dozen matches and can get the feel for how matches go.
Eventually you would be escorted to Rance's office.
"How you feeling today?" his question directed to Faelyn. "Thrax is in one of the staging areas he has an assistant with him today and his normal contingent of muscle." He looks over everyone, "This is the big match of the year, lots of money and the Hellcaller Cup is at stake."

"Can the mighty Larazod crush Thrax's horde from from the planes of hell and beyond? YES, YES,YES! All bets are officially closed! He steps away back into the staging area you all entered from.
