Komm the "Grandfather" |

Keil/Praetor: I posted the map update as there are no obstacles preventing Grezzor from telling you what he sees. Should the secret door be closed, then yes I would use spoilers here.
Grezzor has heard of many weird and strange monsters in his life, but nothing like this. Whatever it is it must be extremely rare, if not unique. It definitely has magical properties, as it was mimicking a white stone before it transformed. Nevertheless it does not deter Vargrenz from moving forward to defend from its approach, despite the calls to retreat.
Waiting on actions from Grezzor, Brok, Keil, Praetor, and Arlok.

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

Brok is still in the larger room, waiting to cover the group's retreat with his bow if this goes bad.

Keil |

Round 1
Having no desire to face such a foul smelling creature in the confined space of the corridor Keil warns, "We are no good bottled up, make for the other chamber!" then, retrieving his bow from beneath his cloak, Keil moves back to the other chamber where there is considerable more room to fight.
MAx2 tactical retreat | Readies Bow

Praetor Grey |

Grey followed the others, still not quite sure what was going on. "So, an excremental? Vargrenz, would you like a weapon? Fighting this thing bare handed sounds unpleasant."

Keil |

Watching the door Keil considers what Grey and Grezzor have said of this new foe then announces, "We should see what it does." The shadowy man lets his statement hang for a second or two, letting it sink in. "There may be others like it. We should know more."
Before a debate can be struck, the fetchling abruptly opens the door, draws by his bow string and as soon as the blob comes into view, looses an arrow at the approaching excremental (Am liking the way that just rolls off the tongue - nice one Grey :))
Bow Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Possible Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
MA Open door, SA fire bow

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

"What is he doing?" Brok asks Grezzor as the fetchling opens a perfectly serviceable closed door that was between them and danger.

![]() |

Varg looks Grey:
Thank you for the offer. My plan is to not get hit at all.
Varg then moves to block the door should the excremental make it through.
Arlok. As usual, just swing over my head.
Total Defense: AC25
Varg will also ready an action to use a Ki Point to increase his AC by +4 (to AC 29), when the creature approaches close enough to attack him.

Komm the "Grandfather" |

Keil -- deciding the information gathered about the strange blob-like creature outweighed the risk here -- opens the door and looses and arrow at the blob once it enters its view. The arrow glances harmlessly off the amorphous blob without effect. (Missed.)
Vargrenz and Arlok take positions to meet the charge of blob -- which slowly continues its advance.
Grezzor smiles confidently, "Whatever it is I know my magic can burn it to a crisp! Just say the word Praetor." (Action readied).
Awaiting actions from Praetor and Arlok.

Keil |

Having missed his shot, Keil notes Grezzor's enthusiasm, "Take your shot goblin, let us see how it reacts to fire." His hand on the door, the shadowy man moves to the side, giving Grezzor a clear line.
Keil's experimenting, gathering as much information (weaknesses/strengths) about Blob as he can.

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

"Oh yes! Set fire to poo-blob. That can only make things better...." Brok says deadpan enough to make the group doubt if he's being sarcastic or if the goblin likes the smell of burning poo.

Komm the "Grandfather" |

With a flourish Grezzor conjures up his favorite spell and the familiar flaming sphere appears in between the fetchling and the foul-smelling blob. Motioning with an arcane gesture he sends the sphere into the blob -- where it is seemingly engulfed by the fecal blob. The blob flows around the sphere and soon it reforms on the other side of it, none the worse for wear.
Round 3: Everyone, Blob.
Grezzor: Please mark off one 2nd level spell.

Praetor Grey |

Grey's eyes narrowed behind his mask. Creatures immune to magic were few and far between. That gave him some ideas as to what it might be. Time to narrow it further.
Slumber Hex. Let's see if it can fall asleep.

Keil |

Keil could feel the heat of Grezzor's sphere as it passed. The shadowy man knows how devastating a spell like that can be on a slow moving target. But the fetchling spits in disgust as the blob emerges unharmed, "That's unnatural." The dark man's statement of the obvious is filled with disdain for the thing but the fetchling's meaning is deeper. Thinking about it's physiology, hacking it to pieces didn't make sense to him, it may just make the problem worse by creating more of it. And if it was anything like the slime, is may be acidic making their weapons practically useless. Too bad his first arrow had missed, the question of acidity might have been answered. Deciding to take one last shot, Keil nocks another arrow, pulls back the bow string and fires.
Comp bow Att: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Dmg?: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
SA Fires bow | Delays MA to close the door pending Grey's spell

Komm the "Grandfather" |

Praetor sends his magic into the shapeless blob...with no effect. (Immune to Sleep effects.)
Meanwhile Keil has far better luck with his next shot, seeing it sink deep into the center of the amorphous blob...again with no effect. (No damage due to DR.)
Awaiting actions from Brok, Vargrenz, and Arlok.

Keil |

Infernal profanities fill the air in whispers as Keil's yellow eyes pierce through the darkness. The fact that his arrow was useless was almost expected, the failure of Grey's magic was disappointing. With one last glance at the arrow protruding from the foul creature Keil spits, "Stand back! I'm closing the door." Before the blob gets any closer, the fetchling pushes shut the barrier.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
With Grey's spell completed am using Keil's delayed MA to close the door. Vargrenz is in total defense mode, Arlok stands ready behind him, not sure what Brok wants but he was against Keil opening the door in the first place. IF I have interpreted this correctly, no one will lose out by closing the door. If I'm mistaken, speak up now and Keil will delay further. :)

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

"Close door before toilet monster eats you!" Brok encourages the fetchling.
We may be missing out on something in that room, but Brok is a coward at heart. If you wanted to try to lure it out and down the passage, Brok could try to climb over it on the walls (or climb high and hide while it passes) to check the room. We haven't explored the passages to the south though and we might end up trapping ourselves between the toilet monster and something else.

Keil |

I agree. We can always come back to this room at a later time. I just hope the door will be enough.

![]() |

Varg watches as the fetchling shoots and the goblin makes magic fire. When Keil closes the door, Varg does not stop him, but still remains in the defensive posture he was holding.
Varg will remain in his total defense posture, in case the poo monster makes it through the door.

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

Brok will wait a moment to make sure the door stops the monster.
If it appears that the crisis is averted, he will slink down the passageway to the south while the others watch the door.

Komm the "Grandfather" |

With little encouragement Keil slams the secret door closed and watches the door closely. After a few seconds you smell the approach of the fecal monster and see a small puddle of the disgusting goo start growing as it oozes under the crack of the door.
It will take a full round for it to squeeze under the door.
Brok heads in the opposite direction and sees the corridor end at an open hole which then continues onward through rough-hewn walls. Before the opening his sharp eyes pick out a a false stone door made of wood that appears to slide up.
Round 5: Everyone, Blob.

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

"Probably another secret crapper ...." Brok mutters to himself.
Hearing the consternation back up corridor where the poo monster is oozing after the party, Brok continues to himself."No time to find another poo monster now."
He slips a piece of chalk out of his pouch and marks an arrow on the floor showing the hidden entrance so everyone can find it later.

![]() |

Varg grumbles:
I am sure that this is going to be a bad idea.
Throwing caution to the wind, temporarily, the stony monk simply begins to pummel the creature as it slides out from under the door.
Full Attack - pummeling style (add damage before deducting DR)
Attack-FoB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Attack-FoB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
If it does not seem to have any attack, Varg will revert to his defensive posture.

Keil |

Keil hadn't expected Blob to creep under the door and for a moment the fetchling's mind draws a blank for what to do. Pupiless yellow eyes look about for inspiration, falling upon the witch's pouch at his side. In a flash Keil recalls the Grey witch having drawn numerous items from it and suspects it is magical. Pointing at it the shadowy man gets a crazy look in his eyes and makes a suggestion, "Grey, the bag. Would it fit?"
Grey: Keil is thinking about placing Grey's bag of holding in front of Blob as it emerges, hoping it will enter, then we simply close the bag. He will need the bag though, MA to retrieve + MA to dump the contents and the following round SA to try to lure Blob in.

Keil |

Pliable toilet seat?? Komm, what say you?

Keil |

Realizing Blob is too large to fit in the bag Keil curses, "Faa!! Too big." Shifting to Plan B Keil begins to brainstorm, "It's slow. We can out run it. The pit?" The shadowy man makes the suggestion but is not entirely convinced himself the Excremental would fall for such a ploy. Quickly thinking it through Keil's expression turns optimistic, "There might be a way." Signalling the group to follow Keil reaches within the folds of his cloak to retrieve his rope. At the entrance to the room the shadowy man turns and smiles deviously, "Bait."
MA tactical retreat, MA retrieve rope

Keil |

There is a pit trap in the room(?) where we found the deck of cards. Keil disabled it by moving the floor halfway.
Keil motions again for the others to follow, "Previous room."

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

Brok keeps looking for a barrier to put between the party and the blob monster.
He quietly peeks through the doorway to the south.

stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36

Komm the "Grandfather" |

While the others attempt to devise a strategy for dealing with the fecal blob, Brok continues his explorations...
You silently slip down the roughly hewn passage for about 60 feet or so before it opens up to a large cavern. A large stream running east-west bisects the cavern at the furthest edge of your vision and a couple of narrow passages exit the cavern on the side closest to you. Of interest is a large pile of rubble in the northwestern area which does not look like it was caused naturally. As you listen further, the cavern is silent at first but eventually you do hear the sound of chittering...rats by the sound of it. And not just a few either....

Brok Nunnelnoggin |

Brok withdraws back up the cavern quietly.
stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25
When he reaches the rest of the party (I'm assuming being herded south by the blob) he reports.
"Secret door partway down south tunnel. Don't know what's inside. Probably second poo-blob with goblin luck." he grins, obviously thinking he is funny.
"Tunnel opens into big cave with river. Sounds like many rats in the cave. Didn't go further because didn't want to bring rat swarm up tunnel behind me."

Keil |

Brok's report holds promise and the shadowy man's blackened teeth flash behind a mischievous grin, "Sounds like Brok found it a snack." Keil raises his right hand toward the side of his mask, his lithe fingers tapping rhythmically in thought. "Both need to meet in the middle of the passage, opposite the pit. Vargrenz and Arlok could lure the rats in." The fetchling shoots the two a cautioning look, "No killing. I will lure the Exrementalist. The rest of you wait behind the pit. The three of us will need to jump the pit to safety. It should be sporting."
Keil takes a moment longer to elaborate one or two more points. Brok will need to reset the trap, any trying to escape may try to use the card room and a working pit trap would act as a temporary barrier. "Timing will be critical." For this the shadowy man looks to the magicians for suggestions.
How does this sound? Keil suggests Arlok and Vargrenz use Total defense to bring the rats up the passage, while Keil lures Blob. The others should reset the trap and prepare to blast anything that evades the pit.

Komm the "Grandfather" |

OK this is what you plan on doing?
*Arlok and Vargrenz lure the rats up the passage to the pit.
*Keil lures Blob down the corridor to the pit.
*Brok resets the pit trap.
*Grezzor and Praetor prepare to blast the Blob/rats once they get to the pit.
Does this sound right? If everyone is OK with this then I will post what happens *evil GM grin*

Keil |

Grezzor and Praetor are on the safe side of pit. Vargrenz, Arlok and Keil will need acrobatics to clear the trap at the right moment.
How much time does Brok need to reset the trap? Will a disable device roll due?
Keil's part will be slower than Arlok and Vargrenz, one of them will need to watch the corridor for Keil's appearance before taunting the rats and drawing them up. Plan B, if the rats don't come Keil will lead Blob to them, acrobatics to escape Blob then retreat to the safe side of the pit...
