The wildest temperature swing I've experience in one day, oddly enough was in South Africa when I was there on holiday.

Town of Graaf Reinet in the Karoo.
In June; winter there.
Day time was lovely; 25℃.
Night time; -5℃ (seriously!)
There was actually ice in the sink of the B&B I was at in the morning!
And no central heating, since summer days are more like 45℃.

Cured me of the false stereotype that all of Africa is warm 24/7.

HAHA..yup...just a bit...but once it gets to -30..anything lower just determines how quick your ears freeze, not if...lol

The greatest extreme was in Calgary during a Chinook...+10 during the day and dropping to -25 at night....

At least Calgarian homes have central heating!

I found out the hard way there's no such thing in Graaf Reinet. :P

So where are the stairs in relation to the characters? Do they just start at the bottom and go further down? Or do they lead down from the side of the pit? And in that case are the stairs on the same side as the PCs?

If I understood correctly, there is a drop and then stairs going down further... But I'm not very sure that I've got it right xD

anyone good enough at climbing to grab the rope from the bottom? xD

Gül is completely right. Picture the cave you are going through is right above the ceiling of the room with the stairs, and it collapsed in this part, connecting the two parts.

If anyone wants to climb, they can try going down the wall near you, but it is smooth rock.

Gandalf is a Maia (Or something like that), which are "Outsiders" from Tolkien's universe. I would say his magic is a racial special ability.

It's fun trying to adjust characters from different settings to the Pathfinder rules.

Gandalf only knows light spells and some basic force spells as Gandalf the Grey. It's mostly his magic sword that deals with that.

As Gandalf the White he gets a massive untyped damage bonus to all his light spells and picks up Maximised Searing Light and Holy Smite.

Lucius should stay well clear...

Knowing his background as a maiar, I would almost suggest he was a cleric and not a wizard at all......

do we roll initiative then? XD

edit: maybe if you roll our initiative for us, you could group us by whether we beat the three attackers or not and then we could all act as a group :D
and if our posts are not exactly in order we could just say it was a delayed action xD

I think that might be best. Keeps everything in one place and could make things faster next time.

I use copy and paste all the time.

I have a LibreOffice spreadsheet that I used to adjust die roll statements for my PCs.

Took a long time to make it initially, but it works a treat now.
