DW Duck
Does that work in reverse too? Or is it one-way.
DW Duck
The best things do ;)
Do we have any hint to the time of day and/or impeding danger outside of the normal literal and figurative pitfalls around us?
Edit- Per Raw... Overlooking moral obligation and difficulties in finding a seller... Sword is a +6 equivalent enhancement bonus, putting it at 72,000 and change. Resell is half that, 36,xxx. Roughly 6k each if our characters can figure that out and find a seller. Of course it being evil as literal sin, this may not be viable.
Alternatively is we can't find a seller for reasons, perhaps we could attempt to disenchant the unholy? We may lose some coin in the process, but I'd rather have money I can spend rather than money I can't.
With these numbers in mind, for the added cost of learning Owl's Wisdom plus time, Cain should be able to afford the material cost for Maglin to increase his Headband of Wisdom to a +4. Food for thought.
Maglin
+2 unholy wounding? That's got to be a +4 weapon that's really expensive...looks things up...
It's a +6 weapon.
Market price: 72,000.
Huh.
Edit: yeah, especially with craft wondrous being a big increase in our effective gold, that's kindof a lot to have. I think we're now ahead of WBL just a tick.
DW Duck
If we can sell it. Standard is half price. Trouble is this is effectively cursed and our buyers our limited. To make it might be more than the GDP of this area. Not to mention Simon is.. You know.. Here to cleanse the evil. I don't know if reallocating evil is the same thing.
I would love the full price, but I'm not building a shopping list with this budget quite yet.
Either way, we're ahead WBL, but we're also Gestalt and facing multiple deadly encounters per day. Its been 3 days haha.
Marco Theseus Cain
It only curses good aligned buyers
According to galarion cannon, the large majority of are neutral in one alignment axis
Ergo most merchants are likely LN
DW Duck
Right, but we're also dealing by proxy with whoever the merchant is dealing with. Artifacts of Evil are going to be generally harder to sell then Artifacts of Good. This is why black markets form. No doubt that any merchant that can make a dime from this would want to sell it, but the only inherant dangers of selling a +2 Holy Wounding sword on the open market is theft. Selling the inverse though brings about the challenge of transporting and publicly dealing in Evil trade in an otherwise Lawful and closer-to-good-than-evil world. Otherwise the undead could walk the streets and be allowed to be themselves.
Settlements state that the most a shop can afford in a small city is 25,000. A large city is 50,000. The populations for those are 5,000 and 10,000 respectively. I do not believe that this one Inn place fits that description. The main merchant here was described as someone who can get pretty much anything, so I assume he can move it, but I'm saying it may not be at the assumed 50% value of other loot.
To be clear, Dalkk sees this as a payday, and would have very few qualms about selling it back to Saracek himself for that matter, but I am hesitant to count my gold on this one until its in hand.
Maglin
Maglin would prefer to give it to a museum or something. It does seem like the sort of weapon that's powerful enough to make some evil person way better at killing good people, and that's literally what it's for.
Also, I expect the town has some capacity to purchase whatever artifacts come out of the dungeon, since it's pretty regularly expedition. Although less regularly returned from.
Vuzi Ognok
Your friendly half-orc Oracle is true neutral, and will not suffer the negative level if she holds on to it for the group.
Marco Theseus Cain
Cain is also neutral (good thing too or he'd probably be dead)
DW Duck
GM, where we able to determine time of day? Nothing specific of course, just trying to figure if we're looking at night travel as an obstacle back to town
DW Duck
The ferry? I must of missed something, do we need the ferry? I was under the impression that we were headed to a sea side type town on the shore where we met. It could easily be my bad though.
Maglin
That's the name of the town, not a boat that carries us back and forth across water.
GM Choon
The town is on a river near the center of the island in the only readily defendable position of any size available in the area. It sits on a crest on the south side of the river surrounded on all sides by rolling meadow for some miles. The rest of the island for many miles around is just not suitable for settlement due to terrain, monster infestation, or both. Merchant caravans regularly travel the only road to a small fortified port on the coast. Unfortunately, the river runs roughly WSW while the port is due south making river transport for everything but a ferry useless. There is another town to the north, and the caravans use the ferry to cross the river to get to said town, but it is many days distant and not feasable to base from if you're seeking the dungeon.
DW Duck
Thank you for the clarification. I'm assuming that there is little interest in the rp of selling off the more basic loot. I have 2 groups of items. The first is more straightforward, 'basic' items. The 2nd is variable where it was suggested the price might be different then suggested. The sell prices are either what you stated the items could be sold for, or 50% value of purchase price.
GM Choon, please let me know if these are the prices your comfortable with, Players, please let me know if I missed anything.

- Dwarven Half Plate, Vance says he knows someone who will pay a premium for custom armor, book price sold is 300
- Skelly Sword, Economy, unholy, lots of variable, book price is 36,175 Gold (+6 72k, MWK 300, Greatsword 50)
Misc Who knows? GM Knows, that's who
600 Gold Plated lead coins - If no value, Dalkk may keep for reasons
Ogre Map - Estimated a few gold
10,000 Rusty but usable nails. I can't find a book price, but Maglin pointed out fishhooks were 1sp each. Dalkk will keep a smaller amount of them along with the scrap pieces of wood he took.
Maglin
Lol, that was more of a joke. It's in the same vein as "A blanket is worth twice what a bedroll is, can I buy a bedroll, tear it in half, and sell it as two blankets?" i.e. Pathfinder's economy doesn't make sense.
Edit: that refers to Dalkk's comment about the nails.
And also, remember that I'll craft for you, so long as your character is willing to wait out the downtime.
Marco Theseus Cain
We could all use a small vacation yes so we'd be happy to take the downtime
DW Duck
I'd be content to take a few days for crafting and resupply. I'd really really like to have that boat. Technically it's only been a few days though, spending more time on the surface could give us time until that shows up. I may go about getting an armor mod.
Vuzi did you have anything in particular you were going to sink money into?
Simon Blue-Eye
No problem with downtime either.
ASAP:
Get me a Cure Curse
Craftable:
Cloak of Resistance +2 (enhance my old +1)
Amulett of Mighty Fists +1
(Maybe)
Headband of Wisdom +2
Ring of Protection +1
Other shopping ideas:
+1 Chainshirt
+1 keen kukri (possible only if we find a buyer for that sword though)
I will sell the dagger if it is enough to get the kukri I guess.
Once we hit lvl 6 I can select one weapon to add my Dex to dmg. And kukris are supperior to plain daggers due to higher crit range, so ...

Wishlist
Upgrade headband from +2 to +4
Adamanite and/or +1 armor
Crystalline hilt
Boots of the earth (given how this can be used for out of combat fast healing one to get all of us including our undead back to full in a few minutes I feel this one should come at least partially out of the party fund if we have enough to get it)
A construct mod to give skeets a ranged attack (weather by using the animate object rules to give him a slam 1d2 slam and then make that slam a ranged weapon or by using the construct weapon mod to basically insert a gun into him)
Ring of seven lovely colors
I have no idea how much this all would cost so I don't know how expensive It would be and thus, how much of this I could get
DW Duck
If all items get sold for listed prices above besides the sword, plus the coins and nails, our total haul is 12,980.75 gold. For every person that's 2,163 gold, 4 silver, 5 copper. For the party fund that's 2,163 Gold and 5 Silver (Full disclosure, it should be 4 silver 9.98 copper, but I'm assuming this was ok). I added the fractions of copper to the party fund.
Cain this doesn't offer you much towards your wish list yet. Maglin will need about 6,500 for your headband (6k in material, somewhere between 200 and 500 to learn the required spell). Addy light armor is 5000 extra.
You can afford +1 armor though. 1000 for the Enhancement bonus, 150 for the MWK, plus cost of a new chain shirt since MWK can't be added after the fact. I don't know what your build is, but if you took Monk next Lvl you'd have more AC then if you wore armor anyway, which would let you put more money to WIS bonuses. (Personally I would go 1 lvl Monk w/Master of Many Styles Archetype and use Snake Style to boost your AC to the 30s on most attacks)
If GM okays the Boots of Earth I'd be down for putting party funds into it. As it reads, its no limit full health after each fight.
Marco Theseus Cain
If I were to go Monk bonus to AC I'd go Meditant psiwarrior (still an option on the table yes, but not yet)
If you have other suggestions for what I should do with my cut, I'd be glad to hear them
GM Choon
Boots of earth. MmmHmmm, that's a poorly writen item if I ever saw one.
I'd rather not take all the challenge out of this dungeon. With Cain's redonkulous tank those boots would take all the HP management challenge out of it. So, my proposal:
You may use the boots up to 3x your Con score rounds/day.
That way it's a solid investment now that will slowly decline in impact as time goes on, like a 5k item should.
DW Duck
To clarify, con score, not con mod, so with my 16 CON I can do 48 health in healing per day and pass them to the next person?
Edit - Cain isn't that 3rd party? I'll start looking around at items. Isn't there a ring of protection or amulet of Nat armor that gives +1 ac for only 1k?
DW Duck
Name Con HP/day
C 17 51
D 16 48
V 16 48
M 12 36
S 14 42
Va 10 30
E 13 39
That's 225 HP healing per day for the 5 main party, 255 with Vance, and 294 if Emily can wear them. I would encourage us to get these, with party funds.
Maglin would you kindly buy a scroll of Bulls Strength (150 Gold), Copy it into your spell book (40 Gold and a Spellcraft DC17, take 10 for a 23, if not allowed to take 10, Dalkk can auto aid another and Vuzi can issue guidance, giving you a +16). Vuzi can fulfill the Cure Light Wounds requirement if you can't via Alchemy. The build cost for this is 2,500, putting us all in at 2,690.
2690 - 2163.5 = 526.5 gold remaining
If everyone is willing to throw in 105 gold (I'll cover the last 1.5), we can have the equivlant of 5ish maxed CLW each per day outside of combat.
Edit - Fantastic suggestion Cain!
DW Duck
Nice calculation there, Dalkk. I'll just as that to my notes... ;)
I... uhm... like numbers..
Actually it's kind of fitting. Conceivably these would be used on our short rest most often. Also, I enjoy high power. Choon I imagine you GM in a similar fashion that I do where you 'gift' great boons to players. They celebrate new found strength and ability, you celebrate new found CR.
DW Duck
Maglin! We have Scrolls!
Jump - 1st Level - 10 GP DC16 Spellcraft to add to Spellbook
Ventriloquism (CL 4th) - 1st Level - 10 GP DC16 Spellcraft to add to Spellbook
Stinking Cloud - 3rd Level - 90 GP DC 18 Spellcraft to add to Spellbook
Additionally I'd like us to have access to Owl's Wisdom and Fox's Cunning. Scroll cost is 150 Each, (300 total). I'll need another 80 to get to my side, and 80 for your spellbook. That puts it at 460 Total. Would you mind splitting this down the middle for 230 each? Cain this is one of the spells that will be needed for your Headband upgrade, so if you wanted to put in on this at all I'm sure it'd be appreciated. Perhaps 150 for the scroll, and Maglin and I can do 155 each?
This will give us access to Bull's Str (from Boots of Earth, above), Cat's Grace (Dex) (Already known by you), Fox's Cunning (Int), Owl's Wis, leaving out only CON and CHA. I don't know if we need either at this point.
DW Duck
Dalkk wrote:I don't know if we need either at this point.*snicker*
If however we suddenly decide this is important, it'd be another 300 for the scrolls, 80 to add to yours, and another 80 for me to get them into potions.
Just in case we had some kind of ominous feeling.
Marco Theseus Cain
I am exceedingly disappointed in the nerf to The magic item
Could you at least give a boost to some other feature?
Like the amount healed per round or the action needed to plant your feat?
Or a discount on the price?
I mean, the developers considered the listed effects worth the price given
I'm not gonna push hard on that one, just a request
DW Duck
A few things to consider. From what I read, this is a PFS legal item (though someone on one post said it was only once per day). CLW wand with 50 charges is 1500 gold. Potions are 50 each. Ring of regeneration is 90,000 gold and does what this does without restriction of movement.
This would wreck our group plans, but my gut was thinking throw a 24hr atunement on there. This would restrict it to one player, and would give unlimited non combat healing to said player. During non combat times it would take 5 rounds of CLW to do what this does in 4 min 15 seconds. That's 10 full heals in a wand of CLW for Cain. 30 fulls heals with Cain atm would cost 4500 with wands of CLW. Pretty easilly affordable over the length of time it would be needed.
At this point your paying 5k for the right to not have to cycle CLW wands and a bonus to CMD, with the restriction to 1 player. As the players health goes up it becomes more costly to the group to wait around, because they can't walk off or anything.
DW Duck
FYI, 5000 gold is worth 166 castings of CLW with CL1 (1d8+1) which has the average healing capabilities of 916hp.
Edit - Even with restrictions, as a group item this will pay for itself in a week or so if we assume it heals half our groups HP per day, especially if we craft it.
Marco Theseus Cain
If in combat rounds don't count, I'll count that as good enough to buy
Still disappointing
It's a rare item that you can actually have with you for a significant portion of your adventuring career. Those items which you can grow attached to.
It saddens me that I have to check this one off the list of them
Ah well
DW Duck
I see where GM is coming from. If one of my players brought that to me I'd either say no outright or put heavy restrictions on it. Generally speaking, an item at that level and price range shouldn't carry with you into endgame. If it does, its probably OP or not as well written as it's creator intended. I dunno how much you GM, but full party heal outside of combat with no limit is hard to prepare for. If you don't scale CR then everything is too easy. If you scale up and the party didn't heal this one time then you have to fudge or risk tpk all the time.
The forums seem pretty rife with debate on it as well. I don't have the book, but I'd be interested in reading it and some AP, because more than a few items in there seem OP but in a soft way. I imagine reading the background would give a better idea of why those items work in that setting.
Vuzi Ognok
I want wands. Lots of wands, and an efficient quiver to pull them from.
I believe a CLW wand is 750 GP not 1,500.
I eventually want a Headband of Alluring Charisma +2 etc, upgrade to a +2 Cloak, and some lovely rings (there are so many).
I also wouldn't say no to a Robe of Arcane Heritage (big wish list item).
DW Duck
If you wanted to throw in on a Scroll of Charisma (150 gold) Maglin and I can throw that on our spell lists for you. Depending on how much gold you have we may be able to do your headband sooner rather than later. Craft cost is 2000 for Headband of Cha +2.
Before this boots of crazy heal came up I was going go suggest putting some of the group fund toward getting you a Lesser Rod of Reach (+1). It'd let you use your Lvl 1-3 cure spells at short range (25ft +5/2 lvls) 3 times per day. At least twice in this last trip a combat heal at range would of made a big difference, and it gives you some heavy offensive capabilities against some undead. Only 3,000 gold.
Vuzi Ognok
I'm good with that kicking in for the scroll.
I'll save up money for rods and wands. I don't really need much in the way of gear. I can't wear armor because of the sorcerer gestalt.
I wouldn't say no to better weapons either. I'm not the first line of fighters so better weapons isn't a priority.
DW Duck
Have we decided how long we're up here for? As far as I can tell atm, Maglin has at least 3 days of crafting in front of him. I'm sure our characters could use some free days. How does a week sound? I'm trying to get an idea for my craft checks
DW Duck
Well crew, do we want to wait that out?
Marco Theseus Cain
Yes, I'd have no problem with that.
DW Duck
Dalkk isn't there, but Cain is. Mind running a sense motive on Mr. Pye? With Vuzi's Guidance? I'd like to know we can trust him. Maglin could you run a formal appraise check if you feel its in character to do so? I'd hate for this guy to come back and say 'good news, I got you 400 Platinum Pieces'
