Looking forward to Outer Worlds 2. First person games make me ill. Outer Worlds 1 is the only 1st person game I played in a long time because I love Obsidian so much, and I had to play it handheld on the Switch because the small screen made the visuals less nauseating/headache inducing. I'll probably have to do the same for Outer Worlds 2 (but on the Steamdeck), but I'll still do it because I still love Obsidian and I really liked Outer Worlds. I know it got a less than overenthusiastic reception, but oddly enough I think part of that problem was indeed that it was 1st person... in that POV people expect a tactical shootery feel and the combat in that game was not... that. But the world build and story were excellent. I mean it's basically Fallout meets Firefly, what's not to love?
(I'm just grateful they added a 3rd person option to Avowed.)
I'm intrigued about Witcher 4. I never played the first three because the first one in particular had some offputting elements to me personally, and Geralt seemed like a prick so I didn't really want to have to be him through a whole game. I'm going to keep an eye on Witcher 4 and see if it might be up my alley.
In non-story/fantasy/RPG news, I just picked up the recently-released Planet Coaster 2, although for some reason it is not magically capturing me the way its predecessor had. But I'm hoping as I get used to the controls and get through the tutorials I'll get bit by the building bug again.

I'm looking forward to Outer Worlds 2 as well. The first one had such a quirky, Firefly-esque vibe that hooked me from the start. I wasn't too big on the combat, but the storytelling and the bizarre humor made it worth sticking through. I also played it on the Switch; even though the visuals were downgraded, it was more convenient. For Outer Worlds 2, I plan on switching to PC this time for that smoother experience.

As for first-person games, they can be challenging for some people. It's one of the reasons I've started messing around with tools like StealthCore to enhance visibility or make games feel more forgiving when I'm just not in the mood to grind.
