Threat Technique
Whether you stop their worst attacks or strike them down for going after your allies, you know how to deal with the targets of your taunts. Choose ferocious vengeance or mitigate harm.Ferocious Vengeance: Enemies that ignore your taunts take the brunt of your anger. You deal 2 additional damage on Strikes against creatures affected by your Taunt if they take a hostile action that doesn’t include you as a target. This bonus lasts until the end of your turn. This additional damage increases by 2 at 9th level and 16th level.
Mitigate Harm: You gain resistance to damage from critical hits made by a creature affected by your Taunt. This resistance is equal to 2 + half your level; this resistance increases by 2 at 5th level, 11th level, and 15th level
In my group we have two opinions as to how this works.
I read Threat Technique as being something you choose at 1st level - your style of Threat. A “subclass” if you will. It appears as a Class Feature, and makes no mention of “choosing more than once” or any interaction with “upon Taunt” or similar.
The other folx read Threat Technique as being something you choose with every instance of Taunt. And nothing indicates that this isn’t correct.
The wording is unclear either way.
Which way did you read it?
Which way is correct?

Agreed that it is a first level choice.
Though that suggests possible feats that would let you choose your threat technique each time you roll initiative, and then each time you taunt, as well as feats that give you new threat techniques and maybe even let you pick more than one to use at the same time. Perhaps one all the time and then a different one each time you roll initiative/use taunt?
Just spitballing ideas if they decide to keep taunt as a class feature instead of making it a feat.

I like the idea of just having both as the base and then feats that improve one or the other.
