Hello All!
We just finished up "Menace Under Otari - Upper Level" and went through the Reporting Process. I had a couple of quick questions for the Board.
1) After Reporting all of my Players gained 4 Rep/Fame, but I couldn't see anywhere that it tracked their XP, Treasure, or Equipment under the My Characters Tab. Is that normal, or did I screw up?
2) I noticed that the Character that I reported for GM Credit only had 2 Rep/Fame. (Does that mean He also has 2XP?) Same Question: Is that normal, or did I screw up?
3) Per the information found here: https://paizo-images.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/image/download/Beginner+Box +Sanctioning.pdf
I gave each of them 4 XP, 4 Rep, 4 Fame, 4 Prestige, and 14 GP. Not to be a broken record but... Is that normal, or did I screw up?
I am desperately trying to ensure that everyone's Character is Legal & getting all that they have earned. I'm good at running the game/not so good at the Paperwork. (Yet!)
Thanks,
Thul

I'll try to help. If I'm wrong about anything, someone else will step in to correct me.
Hello All!

The players keep track of their own XP, treasure, & equipment on their chronicle sheets.
2) I noticed that the Character that I reported for GM Credit only had 2 Rep/Fame. (Does that mean He also has 2XP?)
Yes. GMs earn full credit for Rep in the scenario/adventure. Sometimes players may not earn all of the Reputation (i.e. if they fail to complete a certain mission). Fame is not awarded anymore.
3) Per the information found here: Beginner Box document,

That's correct! However, as noted earlier, Fame is obsolete.

Just do the best you can. Mistakes happen and they can be fixed. It's usually best to fix mistakes after the game so you're not wasting valuable game time.
Thank you for stepping up to GM!
Cheers!

@roll4initiative
To point #1: Drop Fame, make sure Players Know to track their Equipment, Treasure, and XP on their Chronicle Sheets.
I'll also encourage them to keep both a Physical & digital copy of their character sheet that references thier Chronicles for easy review by other GMs at other Tables then.
As to point #2: so my own Character should have 4 rep/4 XP to match the Team's then?
Thank You for the encouragement. It's a pleasure to be running Pathfinder again, and I am so happy to see the vibrant Community that has grown and flourished in my absence. :)
Be Well,
Thul

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

As to why it's showing 2 Rep for your GM character, this is either because (a) whoever did the reporting made a mistake, or (b) a tool like RPGChronicles.net was used and you had the Slow Track box checked for your character (Slow Track means you want to take half of all your rewards - XP, Rep and Treasure - so your character advances slower and you get to play it longer.)
If you didn't intend to do so, then you should get the reporting corrected. As GM you should always get max rewards (regardless of whatever the players got).
