Exactly. The Stag Lord is just what I used in my game. They can easily be sent by anyone gunning for the adventurers.

I like your mercenary encounter, it is very inspired, and I will use it in my campaign. One of my players is an exiled noble, the bounty will be put on his head. Just one of many attempts by Pitax to take out the players and their kingdom
