Trying to find more info and ideas on personal restrictions, role playing a Kalistocrat, etc.
Do you imagine Kalistocrats using augmentations? Would they need to be specifically created to maintain “purity”? Probably have some other questions but I’m curious what suggestions people have.
Head cannon is more than fine, since I think lore wise they’re left mostly vague except for the touching thing, as far as I’m aware.

I haven't read it, but I understand AP 37 The White Glove Affair has a gazetteer on Kalistocrats (in Space!). Presumably, tons of info in there!

I only read the PF1 lore, but their restrictions emphasized separation and cleanliness as ideals, but infantilization and robbery as taboos. These are all just my own ideas, not based on actual Starfinder lore for Kalistocrats.
Some suggestions:
- Biological augmentations must be specially grown from your own tissue and only if the user is alive. Necrografts are only to be used by the undead. There are differing schools of thought on how what restrictions are appropriate for sourcing necrografts as undead, but the undead probably aren't universally accepted by Kalistocrats in general. Cybernetics and magitech augmentations are acceptable, ranking below self-originated biological augmentations but above any others. Since species grafts generally can't be taken for one's own species, this generally means these must be non-biological, but extremely wealthy Kalistocrats will pay a powerful Witchwarper to retrieve a sample of cells from an alternate version of themselves (as dubious of a concept as that is) as a show of wealth.
- Dietary restrictions focus primarily on food sourcing, looking to eliminate UPBs entirely from the food. UPBs are massively antithetical to the ideal of separation, to a greater extreme than nearly any "natural" form of food. Kalistocrats promote all sorts of dodgy scientific and mystic why UPB-based food is bad for you. It's still also common to avoid any food that a creature specifically produces to feed offspring (milk, etc.), but that gets complicated with the variety of cuisines and species. A common stereotype is Kalistocrats carrying their own condiments, because even fancy establishments serving "authentic" food rarely source such things to the same degree as the meal itself.
- The avoidance of UPB-based food is often extended to other areas, but with far less consistency. Kalistocrats frequently boast about hand-crafted goods rather than mass-produced or custom-printed, often advocate moving the credit off the UPB basis, and avoid the UPB stockpiling that some other wealthy individuals do. Because UPBs are such an important part of business, however, these standards are more strongly held by Kalistocrat influencers who make money off of selling the lifestyle, rather than more industry-minded adherents. A common middle ground is no UPBs in food or day-to-day clothing.
