Hi I'm thinking of doing a rogue character for my back up if my main for strength of a thousand dies, Were using the free archetype rule and I was thinking may be Rogue with the Eldritch Trickster racket (my DM has stated that I can use my free archetype for the spell casting dedication I'll choose) which probably be Wizard, I know the racket say's You gain that archetype's dedication feat as a bonus feat even though you don't meet its level prerequisite, though you must meet its other prerequisites. But I want to use the free Archetype for it so I don't have to use my Rogue feats to purchase any feats for Wizard. The only thing I assumed that the Eldritch Trickster was like 1e's Arcane Trickster with there Ranged legerdemain, with 2e is there anyway to get that ability or something like it? I know the Mage Hand cantrip doesn't give you the fine motor skills to open locks or disable traps. Is there a skill or class feat I'm not seeing that could do this? Or would it just be better to be a different Racket and just take the Wizard Dedication with the free Archetype? I'm just trying to make the character awesome with the Thievery so any suggestions on Ancestries and there racial feats that would help in that regards would be welcomed, would be nice if they were a small Ancestry don't know why I think a small race is in my head for this character. oh and my main character is level 6 right now so any suggestions for a 6th level build.
And Thank You.

I'd just like to point out that this build idea basically loses the one advantage that the Eldritch Trickster actually gives you, which is the free dedication feat.
Since there are literally no level 2 archetype feat options other than the Dedication feat (which you got at 1st), you probably aren't going to end up any better of a caster than you would have with another racket (Mastermind would probably be better with Wizard if you want the Int boost, or Scoundrel with a Charisma-based caster class).
Beyond that, caster rogues aren't particularly powerful in PF2: Your casting tends to be weak and getting foes flat-footed versus a spell attack takes significantly more effort than it does for strikes (Flanking as been errata-ed to be melee only, and stealth does not work for spells without powerful magics like 4th level invisibility). The Free Archetype rules will help a lot here (as you don't sacrifice class feats), but Stat allocation might still be a significant issue (depending on how you want the character to work when not casting) since Intelligence is not a particularly great stat for Rogues (it's a bit of a dump stat for most builds)...

Yeah, that is my thought too.
Eldritch Trickster is a fairly weak Racket to begin with. All it really gives you is your level 2 class feat back after you archetype. Some flavor stuff for starting at level 1 with the archetype already, and earlier access to Magical Trickster - but that isn't really very powerful.
But combining it with Free Archetype means that there is no meaningful benefit at all for Eldritch Trickster. In fact it is actively detrimental since it means that RAW you can't use your level 2 Free Archetype feat slot for anything.
Better to pick a different Racket.

Oh, as for Ranged Legerdemain replacement - there is the Agile Hand modification from the Spell Trickster archetype.
Not something you could take immediately as a Rogue since you can't cast spells initially (and it doesn't qualify for Eldritch Trickster since it isn't a Multiclass Archetype).
