Cautiously interested in this one. It looks like a hardback, which means it'll have a thickness to it worthy of a 3-6 part AP hopefully. I think Thurston Hillman mentioned that they added some stuff in for those who've played the Society version.
Since I don't play Society I'm looking forward to having a party actually go up against Jinsul.

A. Scoured Stars is a reworked compilation of the Year One metaplot from Starfinder Society, presumably rekajiggering the "core" adventures in that metaplot to more smoothly support a single party of PCs progressing through it in one continuous story.
B. Going forward all Starfinder RPG adventure paths will be published as single hardback compilations. No more monthly/bi-monthly paperback installments after Drift Hackers.
I'll add that I started running my own Scoured Stars AP, using the scenarios directly, coming up on four years ago. I did it because, then as now, I think Scoured Stars is the best "adventure path" they've put out so far.

If printing costs are going up, that makes sense I guess.

Nah. That's Attack of the Swarm or Devastation Ark. Maybe Against the Aeon Throne.

Very curious on how this ends up, as I and a few of my players have speculated before what we all are missing by not running SFS scenario's for the most part.
This one goes from level 1 to 15 so thats nice, just hope we eventually get the holy Grail of a 1-20 AP at some point. 5 years is a long time in a systems history to not have that, but seems they are still going down the 5th ed route, sadly.
But as Paizo will be getting new blood as they have a lot of spots to fill from all the staff departures, I am hoping some of the "what we would like to see" in our Starfinder game might actually happen.

Tossed some answers to some questions here.
And yeah, this hardback change is going to let us do some _really_ cool and interesting changes to how we present and make our Adventure Paths. Trust me, we've got some stuff in the oven that will blow your minds and I can't wait to talk about them! :D

I'm still bit confused if this is less of level 1-15 ap and more of adaptation of bunch of scenarios. I've kinda preferred AP gameplay and design to scenario gameplay and design overall, so if its just "scenarios, but tier mechanics taken out" dunno if it works for me.
Still though, it is interesting experiment and interesting to see if there is second hardcover starfinder ap experiment. Not super big fan of milestone leveling though so I hope that is only because society scenarios are using different exp system and not something that will appear in future too.

It definitely won't be "just scenarios."
Two reasons:
The original Scoured Stars "AP" maxed out at 12th level. This going to 15th by itself implies some signficant reworking.
The original Scoured Stars "AP" had two major "action climaxes" that were handled via multi-table Organized Play events. For a traditional AP focusing exclusively on one group of PCs, those will both need to be reworked.

I'd say the revised adventures are very similar to the scenario content, but in many cases we've added in entirely new encounters or changed existing ones. Some scenarios have radically different levels than their originals. Maps have been changed around or redone entirely. At least two adventures got some major face-lifts that change them from their original interpretations. However, a big goal here was to let people experience the Scoured Stars story that our Organized Play folks got to enjoy, so we wanted to be true to that and allow people to have shared experiences.
Milestone leveling here made sense because we wanted something where gaming groups could drop in and get a chapter done in a night of gaming. It's probably faster leveling than most groups are used to (heck it's even faster than Organized Play would expect) but it's intended to encapsulate a whole campaign of experiences in about 70 hours of core play. There's TONS of call-outs to other products that should give GMs ample inspiration and places to go for additional content.
We're experimenting with some of these and hope that people like us trying out different approaches to adventures and adventure paths. As we get closer to the release of this sucker, there'll be more that can be revealed, I swear! :)

Either way, I'm glad to see Dhurus being featured to even wider audience :D
Dhurus is my favorite antagonist name to chant out in ominous chorus
(wondering if we might get more info about Ailuros here since this sounds like good chance to expand on npcs featured in society scenarios, heck ending of scoured stars didn't really explain what happened to Ailuros, took until Galactic Magic's Kadrical article for him to be mentioned again)
