Bestiary-4

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

Greetings team Paizo and community!

Just curious if there will be even talk of another addition to the Monster and creature inventory.

Will we get another Bestiary (or similar) entry?

No, Bestiary 3 was the last one. Further monsters will appear in thematic books as they did in Book of the Dead with a few dozen monsters linked to the book's theme.

With the core line finished, there won't be a fourth Bestiary.

We can still expect more creatures in the themed books, though.

For example, Book of the Dead included an abundance of undead beasties.

There'll also be small Bestiary sections in the Lost Omens setting books that cover a particular region. We got such a section in LO: Mwangi Expanse, and I think it's safe to assume there'll be another such section in the upcoming LO: Impossible Lands book.

If you want to improve the numbers os available creatures and you/your table aren't restricted to Paizo official books you can also add Battlezoo Bestiary as one more bestiary option. Although isn't an official book it's signed by Mark Seifter and it's well balanced.

Do we know what creatures are coming in dark archives ?

I would very much like to have the stats for a colour out of space or more dark dominion creatures.

There are no bespoke new creatures in it (apart from whatever might be hiding in the case file adventures, I guess), but there are various adjustments for making your own cryptids and secret society NPCs.

Yah I need them because I'm converting book 4 of iron gods currently and it would make my job easier.

I know how to do it, I'm just lazy and want some of them to be done for me.

Speaking of, the one that has me conceptually most excited is the Primeval template, I just love the concept of abilities that mean you're fighting a truly ancient version of that creature. Can't wait to see what it actually does in a few days (depending on when I get my sub, ofc.)

Do we know what the next themed book will be?

Have you had a poke around in the Conversions and Homebrew forums? I swear i saw someone advertising for a conversion of Iron Gods there, I thiiiiink via a Discord, but I've got no idea where the mention was. They could still be a helpful resource.

Not yet, unless you count treasure vault, but that isn't a monster book. We might find out in a few more weeks at gencon-- Book of the Dead was announced at Paizocon of 2021 (with the product page going up in July) so its actually kind of interesting we haven't seen anything about it yet, but with Gencon so close to Paizocon in the year, everything is ultimately pretty flexible. Assuming we get one, obviously, its possible Treasure Vault ate the slot or something.

Yah I think I'm the one who's produced the most content for it thus far, I have all three first chapters mapped, converted and accessible for foundry VTT on the discord and the project lead is converting it in text on the GitHub when they have time.

Like I said, not an issue, but converting every monster in the AP plus redoing all the maps is getting a bit tiresome ^^

I hope Book of the Dead proved popular enough to repeat that style with similar monsters. The book was absolutely dripping with flavor.

So you're saying you could really sink your teeth into it?
