Making the most lycanthropic Lunar Oracle possible

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

New player here, who finally has a chance to play a Lunar Oracle after 5 years of wanting to try this game, and I want to make this character as beastly and moony as possible.

And I've got no idea where to start.

I know about the lycanthropy oracle curse, the Gift of Horn and Claw, the Child of the Moon trait, and the skinwalker/beastkin race. I feel like this is a good starting point for what I want to make, but I'm not sure what else I can do to optimize it/bring it to life.

I'm also curious about whether or not Gift of Horn and Claw is actually any good for a caster class. I really want to go ham on some baddies with fangs and claws, but I'm not sure how to make it work.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Depending on race options for said oracle, skinwalker would be a very lycanthrope starting point, being descended from them and all. Depending on curse and mystery you could end up darn near being as beastly as a full lycanthrope, but avoid making your GM give you "the eye" for actually being a full lycanthrope. Also, should you have available feats, Improved Natural Attack is never a bad thing.

The witchwolf racial subtype for skinwalker is really good for a claw and fang oracle, as is the fanglord. Witchwolf's magic fang ability will be very useful from 1st level on. The Lycanthropic Bloodlust racial trait could prove useful. The feats Extra Feature and Fast Change could also be very useful.

The Tenacious Shifting trait could prove very nice, as it will enhance the duration of buff spells that are of the transmutation school like bull's strength that you may cast on yourself. The Rending Claws, Rending Fury, Improved Rending Fury, & Greater Rending Fury are very nice for natural attack enhancement, though are mid level + feats due to BAB requirements. Eldritch Claws is another useful natural attack enhancing feat, as is Blood Feast. Given the limited number of spells the oracle can "know" spells like bull's strength, divine favor, bone fists, savage maw, forceful strike, & mighty strength are all very good at enhancing your clawing biting power. An amulet of mighty fists is a great magic item for natural attack enhancement, and it can be enhanced as it were a weapon, so you could say have a +1 keen amulet of mighty fists that would add a +1 magical enhancement bonus to your natural attacks and enhance their crit range to 19-20x2.

Depending on how you feel about worshipping an evil god... Jezelda, in particular... Demonic Obedience, or better yet, Fiendish Obedience both offer some fun boons you may find useful.

I really like the Child of the Moon magic trait... but we still "need" a way to get Stealth as a class skill... like the Highlander or Silent Hunter regional trait. Sucks to burn both traits on Stealth, but Stealth you would be... Child of the Moon gives a +1 to +4 trait bonus depending on the phase of the moon... Highlander gives a flat +1 trait bonus that increases to +2 to hilly or rocky areas... the trait bonuses obviously do not stack, but if the bonus from the moon is weak, and you happen to be in the correct terrain... anyways, Stealth could easily be your jam if you are willing to burn a magic and a regional trait towards it.

I would use the combination of Stealth and Summon Monster spells to fill in when you're not tearing things to shreds with Claws and Horns, or whatever.

Actually come to think of it, due to Cha use for spell casting, even though it is not a class skill Use Magic Device investment could pay off really nice, as you could with a bit of work reliably use the shiny natural attack enhancing spells from other classes (there are allot) and other magics to further be a clawing biting terror, without using your own spells all the time.
