This is probably just because I'm getting old, but I thought I recalled that 1e AP PDFs used to cost $10. Did I totally make that up in my head, or was there a price increase?

I have never seen AP PDF prices be that low, it's might have been a sale you saw at the time.

1E rule books are $10; setting books, modules, etc are (typically) more, but less than the physical book.

Sorry to say but that was never the case. Rise of the Runelords and Kingmaker PDFs have always been $14. Tyrant's Grasp PDFs were $18 upon release and are still that price.

Only the core rulebooks were $10. Anything that had to do with paizo's setting was not.

I'd say that the only setting pdf that would've been at the $10.00 price range would be the 1e Inner Sea World Guide, as an intro to the PF1e version of the campaign setting [even the 3.5 version was far more pricier].
