So as we know Paizo doesn’t continue printing old adventure paths, but I’ve noticed a trend of the first parts always being listed as out of print in the store, whereas many other parts are listed as “unavailable” or for sale. This isn’t always the case of course but it’s common. Does anyone know why that is? What makes the first parts so scarce? Is it just people wanting to start a path and not as many finishing it so more get purchased?

Some APs sounded promising first, especially with all the hype, but then didn't live up to the reader's expectations. I bought three complete APs as PDFs, but also abandoned four others after book 1 (or book 2, in one case).
Maybe that's typical, and there is a huge sales drop at book 2. Maybe the drop percentage is very different for different APs. So it's hard for Paizo to calculate, and they just hope to sell the remaining books sooner or later. Or at least to be able to clear the warehouse at a sale.
