Posts displaying wrong time zone

It's taken me a while to notice, but it seems that posts on the boards here are displaying as the completely wrong time zone. I've double checked that my time zone is correct in my profile page, but it seems everything is displaying on some US based time zone instead.

Example, I live in Japan, and made a few posts at ~9 PM Sunday and they are now displaying as ~5 AM Yesterday (which would be Monday here, but I'm assuming is actually Sunday.) This isn't a huge issue but I was curious if it's something other people are encountering as well, or if there's a known fix.

Trying to confirm:
The above post was made at approximately 02:00 on Tuesday May 18, UTC
In Japan it is approximately 1100 Tuesday May 18, Japan Standard Time

Can you provide a link to the post that is displaying the wrong time zone for you?

It's not one single post but rather most of the posts on the boards, as far as I can tell. The first time I noticed it it was a post I made at night two weeks ago and then realized had 'posted' about 30 minutes before I woke up, which, in retrospect, was wrong, I posted it at night on Sunday, not in the morning. That was this post (apologies for the missing spoiler tag I missed it when I posted.)

Some of the posts I was talking about in the first post include:
this one, and this one.

For examples of what I see when I look at the forums, this is all three of those posts print screened and copied into a google docs.

The first link currently shows me a timestamp of Sun, May 9, 2021, 06:22 am. That is the date and time it was posted from my perspective, ie Eastern Daylight Time in the US.

Converting that timestamp to UTC, it was posted at 10:22 AM on Sunday May 9. Converting that timestamp to JST it was posted at 1922 PM on Sunday, May 9.

If you made that post around 7:30 PM Sunday night, then the Paizo boards are displaying the time correctly. What time was it in your local time zone when you made that post? You said 9 pm earlier, so it looks like it might be about 90 minutes off.

This is happening for everyone's posts across the forums - many of us were talking about it on discord. All posts show as east coast time I think. Im in GMT, and only see posts come up as 8 hours before they should.

What OS, and what browser?

I'm using Win10 and Firefox 88.0.1 (64-bit)

The problem is they are displaying as that time from my JST perspective as well. This is shown in the google docs, with screenshots of all three posts, I linked at the end of my previous post.

The first post was made at a time I couldn't remember, it was just when I first realized there was something off. It could have been on or around 7:30 PM, I couldn't point to when exactly, I just know it wasn't anywhere near 6:22 AM when the post is displaying as being.

The second post was the one mentioned in my first post, the one made around 9 PM. I'm not worried about the timing of the posts being off, but the time zones displayed for posts being off.

These are displaying the same across the three versions of chrome I use on two computers and an android phone.

@Crystal Seas - Im talking multiple people I've talked to from different operating systems, browsers and time zones.

It seems that most people can just see that same timezone for all their posts that paizo's HQs can see.

But isn't Paizo HQs on the west coast and therefore on Pacific Daylight Time?

Hiya! This has JUST started happening to me also. I'm in GMT+7 timezone and my posts were showing the correct timestamp for my local timezone. But sometime within the past 24-48 all the timestamps stopped reflecting my local timezone. Instead, it seems all posts are now timestamped USA west coast Pacific time.

Also, this doesn't seem to be limited to some specific recent posts. It looks like all posts are now not reflecting my local timezone.

I tried logging in and out. I tried changing my timezone in message board settings back and forth. But none of that seemed to fix the issue. It's as though the timezone in my message board settings is fixed to Seattle timezone regardless of what I set it to.

The primary reason I ask is that it throws me off a bit while GMing PBP tables to track when to wait or not wait for players to post before botting them. Other than that, there isn't any practical impact to me. Thank you!!

This is still an issue two years later. It would be quite nice to have this fixed to reduce confusion.
