So... it's been a couple years and we still haven't had any additional resource updates regarding the Pathfinder Player Companion: Chronicle of Legends book legality. Is there going to be any legality update for people who play Pathfinder 1st Edition?
It's bad enough that it has no support or presence outside of Online Games, the least you could do is actually make the final book legal for use. At the very least.
Seriously, it's like buying DLC for a game but the DLC never gets released for use to the public, and you can only use the DLC on Home Custom Servers that can access it for free despite having purchased it.

Eh, I agree with TheMonkeyFish's sentiment.
I mean, technically the analogy for a DLC isn't accurate. That's not how or why Paizo makes the products, that's not how a player's ability to use these products works. Jared's description is closer to the reality.
But.
That's not how a (primarily) society player views it.
Technically, OPF and Paizo are two different entities. Technically, Society merely adopts some of Paizo's published materials for use.
From a practical viewpoint of a player, though, Paizo and Society are one and the same. For someone who plays mainly society games, the company that prints the adventures/materials and the organization that runs the games are one and the same. And having that entity print material that you 'can use' but then won't allow it in the society game, is frustrating.
Basically, your GM is writing all sorts of cool things for use in his world, but then when you ask if -you- can use it in -his- games, he doesn't reply. Note that he hasn't said no. He just didn't reply. Or replied "Dunnoo yet, I'll get back to you... later." and then 2 years later, you're still wondering if he'll allow the new things -he wrote- or not.
Yes, yes, that's not how it technically works. That's how it feels, though.
On a more positive note: While I'm annoyed that 1e stuff got left in the snow, and that the longer it takes to sanction them, the less relevant they become - I'm really glad that Organized Play decided to drop them and focus on the new 2e stuff since I assume that -that is the reason why we have 2e stuff sanctioned on launch-. That is a major improvement. A Huge Step Forward.
It's very disappointing that to get into a steady schedule with 2e stuff, sanctioning 1e stuff needed to be delayed, but having most content sanctioned on time and others put on an indefinitive hold, is in my opinion better than having everything, always, for the rest of the eternity, sanctioned 6 months late.
And, while I'm not holding my breath over it, the OP team blogs mention 1e content every now and then. It's clearly on their mind, it feels like it's their intention to sanction it when they can, and I really, really hope they catch up at some point and sanction the last few things, I understand if they need to keep neglecting the old campaign in order to keep the new campaign up to date.
